What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread:
Frieda (hopefully)? Holly Lee Louise Lynne Peachy
And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Good morning and chag sameach!
I participate in a weekly Mindfulness Meditation group. It’s just a 30-minute online group, but I really enjoy it. Sometimes we do meditation, sometimes an easy-and-quick yoga routine. Recently the teacher dropped this gem: “Almost everything will work again, if you just unplug it for a few minutes. Including you.”
This is a simple statement, of course, but it jolted me anyway. We don’t just need to rest, exercise or stretch in order to feel a temporary relief. We need to make it a habit to unplug and recharge. It’s not good for us to keep going on and on without tending to ourselves, even if we physically CAN do so. And we don’t have to unplug and then stay unplugged – when we restart, we can continue to contribute to our lives, our families and world.
I’m committing to making sure I unplug and reset more regularly, for better care and performance. How about you?
Shabbat shalom and chag sameach!

I never thought of it as "unplugging," but yes, I do unplug sometimes. Lately, my way of unplugging is to remove myself from the computer and sit in front of the TV and veg for a while.
I watched a movie I'd seen once before (but didn't remember its name or the ending) yesterday. I enjoyed it a lot. It took my mind off everything else for a while. I'm still putting together what I want to do for tomorrow night's seder. I'm mostly done with everything, but now I have to put what I want into its own order / sequence (and I guess that's a pun too; it's also the definition of seder and siddur).
Interesting week; thanks, Peachy!
Lee, I'm up next week, which means you have the week after.
Gut shabbes, all. Enjoy the rest of this week's holiday. Keep remembering (and doing what you can) regarding the hostages please.

I really like that, Peachy. Sometimes I get so caught up I don't even realize I'm spinning. This is very good to remember on a basic level, by which I mean in the moment we need it (why is it that those are so often the moments we can't think of anything at all?). On another level (or is it the same?)I am not shomer shabbat but I am aware that we are given this as part of our spritual practice every shabbat!
Today is my WI and I lost .6. I don't think I have ever had a loss during Pesach before. I am very pleased. The IF has gotten easier and I am very protective of it.

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: I love the idea of "unplugging" although I never would have thought of that particular wording.
Re WL: I have been forcing myself to stay OFF the scale until my official weigh-in day (tomorrow). I think I've done all right this week, but I am trying to break the habit of being obsessive about the numbers!
Have a peaceful day, Lee
