Good morning and happy Friday! Yesterday fortunately felt like it went much faster than Wednesday. I got in a good rhythm working on this appellate brief and stayed a little on the later side to finish up a draft, which makes today much easier! Glad my Thursday self was looking out for my Friday self LOL. I still got home before 7 yesterday and just had leftovers for dinner, and then watched the draft and the Sixers and read. Cam stayed up to watch the Eagles pick but I went to bed (though ended up still being awake in bed by that point) though I figured they'd take a cornerback, and did.
Today after work I'll go to the grocery store and then to my parents' house before doing a Passover Seder at their house tonight. Cam and my sister and Tristan and 2 of our friends are coming too so they'll head over closer to dinner time. My BIL is/was in Chicago to cover the Bears draft since they had the first pick, so he is probably not that sad to miss it haha. Our Seder is pretty quick and casual- we do some of the readings but it's a very abbreviated version (especially since my mom is the only one who's really into it) and mostly just eat. We're having roasted chicken, beef tenderloin, matzah ball soup, potato kugel, and roasted veggies, and I think my sister is bringing salad and my friends are bringing dessert. I made a deviled egg dip- not necessarily Passover-specific but can be eaten with matzah crackers so that's close enough! We'll also have the draft on in the background.
No plans tomorrow. Sunday we have a 1st birthday party for Cam's friend's kid. They live in South Philly not too far from us and it's supposed to be 79 and partly sunny so that'll be good. Most of the 1 and 2 year old bdays we've been to lately have been more adult-centric.. at a brewery or beer garden, really more for the adults at that age. This one seems like it might be a lot of kids, but we'll see! At least it's close and a few of Cam's other (kidless) friends will be there so hopefully not too painful.
A: kickboxing
B: 1/2 everything bagel with cream cheese
S: apple with peanut butter
L: leftover buffalo chicken chili with brown rice
S: fruit salad
D: Passover stuff, plenty of wine
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
