Newcomers are always welcome - just jump in and post. Some people are regulars and visit daily, some pop in now and then, some stay to chat, some just listen. All are welcome. Post a personal message if you can. If you can't, that's okay too. You will find lots of support and encouragement here, and hopefully you will enjoy this thread as much as the rest of us.

Good Morning,
The temp is 68 degrees this morning, headed to 82 today with a strong breeze.
We plan to plant some things in the garden this afternoon. I ordered my flower seeds from Amazon to plant in the garden. They will be here tomorrow.
Jan and I had a wonderful two hours visit. We didn't get caught up but will visit again when school is out for the summer. She said the children are sweet but that it is really hard on her physically working five days a week.
Doug is working upstairs today on By-laws and preparing his Sunday School lesson for tomorrow. This afternoon we will work in the garden.
I plan to do laundry and a few easy chores.
I do have exciting news. The Smart Bird feeder Melissa and Joseph gave me for christmas has been found by my Finches. So fun to watch. We put it out last Saturday so it took them six days to find it.
The wind is really howling. Sounds erie out side. LOL
Really not much going on around here.
Lauren sending you love and prayers.
Annie safe travel to meet Justin.
Janet good job gettin the garage empty. When do you plan to move to your mom's. Do you have a goal date in mind?
Barb enjoy Robin's birthday with the children today.
Sue your trip to Grand Canyon sounds wonderful.
I need to get moving.
Have a Blessed Day Count your Blessings, Karen

Good morning, everyone
It's a clear sunny day today - we're back into warm up mode, back to the mid 70's today and we'll be in the 80's by tomorrow. Whatever blew through here yesterday is east of us somewhere! At around 2PM - we had a really big Thunderstorm roll through. Lots of red & orange on the radar - the sky's got really dark, the wind was howling - and quite noisy too. It lasted maybe an hour, and the air smelled so fresh afterwards - I love that smell after TS - we really didn't get that in the Bay Area. And our power and the internet both stayed on too.
But, the storm really distracted me from working - I pretty much stopped when it hit! But I knew that would happen, why I started early! This morning, I redid an excel file I accidently converted to a PDF - and that Excel file is gone. It's on our shared drive, and I can't access the recycle bin there. That recycle bin saves me more than you know - except for this one time. It's done - now I can not think about it anymore!
Today is grocery day - and housework day. And we should go and the the National Park Pass while we're out too.
I have several Forest Service Roads picked out for camping. The best option starts from inside the National Park - Forest Service Rd 310 (or Coconino Rim Road). It's off a main road along the rim, you just have to drive away from the park a few miles outside the park onto Forest Service land, and you can camp for free. The best part is to get back into the park, you can avoid the main entrance gate and the lines. And there is water and a dumping station in the park too that we can use. Ruth seems worried about what it will be like - yes, there are trees, no, probably no lakes or streams - our method of camping may be a bit out of her comfort zone. But when we get there, I hope she'll see it's OK.
And I pretty sure the kitten is coming - she's just too young to be left here alone - even for a few days. I'm ordering the smallest harness I can find! That thing will stay on her 24/7. And our contact info in case she does escape. But I don't see that happening - she follows me everywhere I go in this house - like lint!
I'm going to run - have a good day everyone
Sue

Good morning, Café friends,
Jared should be here in just a couple of hours now. I’ll text Tracy when we leave the airport. She has to work at least until 11 since she is training someone. The trainee comes in at 10 unless she’s late, which she often is, so Tracy said if she’s much later than 11:30, we should just order for her and she’ll be there when she can. The place where we’re going is called Teddy’s At The Beach. It’s a cute little restaurant that has great seafood, a patio, and nice servers. It is a couple of streets off the beach. Last time we were there, they had construction crews demolishing a gas station across the street so it was a bit noisy, but still enjoyable.
I woke up at 2 am with the dizzies again. I tried to roll over onto my left side and it hit - almost felt like I’d fall out of bed if I didn’t hang on. It’s better now that I’m upright, but still have to slow down when I’m walking. Lying on my right side is much better, especially if I lie still. It’s when I try to change sides that I spin and get queasy. Hope this doesn’t last long since I’d like to get a better night’s sleep than I did last night. I never did get back to sleep after I woke up. Maybe a nap is in my future after Jared and Kirsten head back to French Valley with the plane.
They have the plane from 9 am until 4 this afternoon. He rented a Piper Cherokee Archer which is a faster airplane than the Cessna 172 since we’re driving all the way to Carpinteria. They are both 4-seater airplanes. I don’t know how much more it costs to rent this plane, but I know he was talking about how much it is costing him to get his IFR rating. He’s been flying 3x a week. Of course, that includes his instructor’s fee, as well as rental of the plane. Hope they’ll be safe and have no trouble getting through LA airspace. It helps that he is an air traffic controller familiar with the airspace over that area. But a mother still worries! He’s been a pilot for years so I know he knows how to fly.
We’re supposed to be warming up this weekend with temps in the high 70’s by Monday. It’ll feel good to bake my bones a bit. And then hoping to get back to my water aerobics class now that spring is hopefully here to stay.
Lauren - sending lots of healing prayers and hugs your way. ❤️❤️
Time for me to get dressed and start my day. Have a good day, everyone!

Good morning,
I had a very nice birthday, thanks for your well wishes. It's always nice to hear from friends. The massage in the morning was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The masseuse was very complimentary on what good shape my body is in, and my energy is moving well according to her. That made me feel good, I don't get many compliments on my physicality these days from anyone, it's nice to get one on occasion. We tried out a new place here in town for lunch, where I ran into a group of former co-workers which was nice (even though I could only remember one guy's name - embarrassing), and also a family from our former church. Yesterday was sunny and quite windy, but having the sun made going to the pool much easier, and I did my inaugural swim as planned. I also sat in the steam room for as long as I could stand it, a nice way to finish off a swim. And the dinner out was very nice. We first went to a bar for a cocktail, hanging out with the Gen Zers. At dinner we had one couple next to us celebrating their first anniversary, while the couple on our other side was celebrating their fiftieth anniversary! The food was very good, and I assume very expensive although I haven't seen the tab yet. I had a Waygu ribeye that was delicious. Thus endeth and begins another trip around the sun.
We are having another sunny warm day here, and even the wind has finally settled down, at least for the moment. I've got the sheets and towels hanging outside. I've had my breakfast and have done my puzzles. Next up will be yoga, then a trip to the driving range. I have lots to do around the house, so will tackle either some inside cleaning or some outside gardening. I'll study some Spanish and play some piano, my usual activities. Haven't thought what to do for dinner, probably something easy and not too rich.
Tomorrow I'm going biking with Dawn, then golf on Monday, hiking with Chris on Tuesday, and golf again on Wednesday. Then on Thursday we're heading north to the Bay Area for a long weekend with Rosie and Craig. So I need to get ready for that trip ahead of time in-between those activities. I still need to reserve a rental car for our trip in late May to get to LAX and back. We have an 7:00 a.m. flight out of LA, which is way too early, but Viking made our flights for us. We've decided to just get up at some ungodly hour (3 a.m.) to drive down that morning, as opposed to going down the night before and staying in a hotel. I am not looking forward to that drive, but I'm sure it will be fine in the end.
Lauren, hope you are handling those treatments alright. Take care everyone, have a good day!
