Good Morning cafe friends
Sitting here waiting to take my pills. As unregimented as my prior life had been my new life is very scheduled because of medicine taking. So far so good on how I’m tolerating the cancer drug well but tonight for the first time, the second drug is added. Hoping it goes well.
Allie made it home safely and everyone is so happy she is home. DH is doing a good job of feeding me. This lean protein, soft GI diet is getting old fast. I need to complete a survey that Moffitt sent. I received such excellent care I want it noted.
Waving at everyone. Love you guys.

Good Morning all,
It is another beautiful day here in Southern KY. High of 83. We still have a very brisk breeze. We need rain. No storms just good ole rain.
Today is church, then lunch, then we have a church council meeting at three then bible study at six. Busy day.
I haven't heard from Melissa so not sure how the soccer games have gone.
My Brother called, his girlfriend is having knee replacement on both knees one at a time beginning any day now. She is having her surgery in Owensboro.
We got the garden planted yesterday. Doug studied and that was about it.
I can't believe April is almost gone and May is knocking on the door. Where is time going???
I will bbl.
Have a Blessed Day, Count your Blessinsg, Karen

Happiest of birthdays to Karen, today! I hope you have the BEST day!
We have lots of rain and lots of wind here. Mom sent me a note on FB about 11pm that she was headed to bed but we were under a tornado watch so call her if the sirens start going off. I slept without the sound machine and opened our bedroom window so I could hear the sirens if they went off. They did not. Thankfully. Brookes softball tournament games were canceled yesterday and Becky text early this morning that today's games were canceled as well. I can't say I am unhappy about that. Although it is supposed to be about 77 degrees today, that wind is fierce. Owen is scheduled to shoot at 11am and I know the wind will be super crazy out at the shooting range. Amy asked if we were available to celebrate my birthday today if the games got over in time. We'd just have to be flexible. So, since they are canceled I suspect we will be getting together sometime today.
Since Brookes softball was canceled yesterday, the girls invited me to go to Carlinville with them to the CEO showcase. High school seniors work on starting their own business and this was a showcase for them. I felt so sorry for them. It was outdoors and the wind was so high. Their tents were blowing over and it was just a real problem. The square had vendors set up and some food trucks. It was a nice morning. On the way home, Dick text that they were looking at a house in town and did we want to go with them. So, we did. This house sits just across the street from our church and has a very picturesque front porch. But the house was built in the 30s and really needs a total remodel. I can't imagine why they would want to buy it. And its not on the water, which is a must for Colleen. Anyway, we went to mass then to dinner. I had the best honey bourbon glazed pork chop. So delicious. We came back here and finished watching the Daisy Jones and the Six series on Prime and they left about 11pm.
Today I'm hoping to get what plants I bought at Rural King on Friday planted in pots. I probably won't put them out yet with this wind, though.
Joe leaves for his fishing trip in the morning. I am hoping to go room by room and clean then organize closets and pare them down to look better for staging. And wash curtains and blinds. I can't do windows yet because we don't have the siding clean. That will be first up on the list when Joe gets back. I can take my time and work since I won't have to think about fixing meals this week.
Barb: I know Robin had a wonderful birthday celebration yesterday with all of you together.
Maggie: You stay so active. It sounds like you have a great time celebrating your birthday.
Annie: Did you get Greer back to his parents ok?
Karen: I hope you have a wonderful Sunday and a great birthday today! I am thinking probably June we will advertize the house for sale and see what happens. I want to get everything done here as best I can before I call the realtor to give us a fair market value on our home. I'm going to try to sell on our own first and if it doesn't sell then we will list it. It usually takes 30 days to close, so I'm hoping to have it sold by the time we break ground on the new house in August.
Peggy: I hope you had a good visit with your family yesterday at your uncles services. Safe travels home to you and Everett today.
Lauren: Sending you much love and many prayers for a full recovery! So good to see you here today.

Good morning, Café friends,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAREN!! Have a great day!
We had a lovely visit with Jared and Kirsten yesterday. The weather was lovely and we sat out on the patio of the restaurant. Traffic up to Carpinteria was heavy but moving. We ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell and then ordered our main courses. Their flight was fine coming up by way of the coastline. The clouds and fog were reversed, meaning it was cloudy inland and clear at the coast. Very unusual! It was a beautiful day for flying and the air traffic was pretty heavy. Every general aviation pilot wants to fly when the weather is good. They went back the usual way, going through the LA corridor. But Jared texted when they got home plus we followed their flight on the flight aware app. You plug in the N number of the plane and it’ll track where they are and their speed. Pretty cool!
Robin will go to church this morning while I will stay home and clean up the kitchen. I have lost the desire to go to church since our church is dying and they got rid of our pastor. I really miss the old days of a bustling church with a young and vibrant minister. I’d like to find another, but as of yet it’s not a priority.
The dizzies left me, thankfully! I hate dealing with vertigo. I had one brief episode when I rolled over last night, but it was fine this morning. Hope it continues.
Lauren - sending lots of <healing> vibes your way and praying that this protocol will be easy for you to tolerate! I love you!
Time for me to grab my shower and start my day! Have a good one, everyone!

Happy Birthday Karen - I hope you have a wonderful day.
Lauren - good to see you this morning. I hope you tolerate the 2nd drug as well as you have the first. I'm sending as many good vibes as I can!
It's warming up here too - up to 80 today from the mid 70's yesterday. Our AC is ready!
We are taking Anka on the Camping trip - no way we can leave her here alone, and we don't really know anyone that could take her in. It's a big ask! And she I don't trust her with other animals - so taking her to a kennel is out & I'm not sure they would even do it. And a Pet sitter - I'm not inviting a stranger into our home. The kitten may be in the carrier more than she likes - but it's what we have to do. I have the smallest harness I could find ordered - we'll see if it works.
I had a good day yesterday. We got the grocery shopping done and I started a deep clean on the master bedroom & bath. I'll finish it today. I have this schedule where I deep clean one area each weekend - it's better than not doing it at all - so every 4 or 5 weeks each space is done well and not just the surface cleaning I do on a regular basis. Our home mostly looks "neat", just don't look too close! Ruth tends to like clutter and paper. So I gather it and if she wants it, I put it in her room. But I always ask - as nicely as I can muster! LOL! We had too much paper we never filed in Pacifica - so that was one of my goals to do better! Maybe it's a generational thing - as my Mom had similar habits.
The small frustrations are bearable - I'd rather she was here than anywhere else! It's just "stuff"! I know I'm perfect and easy to live with - NOT!
I have to run and get dressed - is it warm enough for shorts? Maybe I'll wait for the mid 80's tomorrow!
Have a good day everyone.
Sue

Good Afternoon Y'all,
I am home! I was gone 33 hours and feel like I was gone for a week! Very quick trip. The funeral was nice and got a lot of visiting in with my cousins and aunt. And we headed home this morning. We stopped for lunch before getting to Patti and Frank's house, dropped them off in Chattanooga, went in to tinkle and see the kittens (so cute...and NO, I'm not taking one) then on to Decatur. My kitties are happy I'm home. It is hot here. I'll need to do some watering once the sun starts going down.
(((HUGS))) all, Peggy ^..^

Good afternoon. The place we were going to be meeting Justin and Keisha has permanently closed. Fortunately Greg checked and we picked a different place in Old Town Temecula. That’s a really nice area, but yesterday they were having a street fair so lots of people were there. That made parking a zoo. Fortunately I had put our group on the online waitlist because it was a 90 minute wait. I heard the hostess telling the people before us that in the most cheerful voice. ha! With a 2 year old, there’s no we could have waited that long. As Keisha said we’d end up somewhere no one else wanted to be lol. The food was very good and reasonable. I would definitely go there again, maybe without the street fair though. Since we were in Temecula we stopped by our winery before heading home. That was a nice unplanned excursion.
The Navy is messing with Keisha’s schedule and the trip to Spain may not happen. She was supposed to have a month off prior to being deployed the first of July. Now they are saying the deployment may be moved up and she would have less than a week off. Also, the deployment was going to be to Asia and now they’re talking about the Middle East. I really hope she doesn’t end up in the middle of all that conflict going on now.
We are having the loveliest Spring day. It’s 72° with a very slight breeze and sunny. Gorgeous. Since church we’ve been doing a whole lot of nothing. I guess that’s okay after the very busy week we had. I still need to pack Greer’s toys away. Greg is walking the dogs so now would be a good time to do that.
I hope you’re enjoying your birthday, Karen.

Good evening,
Happy Birthday Karen! Hope you've had a wonderful day!
The sun is getting lower, but it's still daytime here. I finally reserved two one-way rental cars to get us to and from LAX next month. I'll likely sleep little the night before, use my anxiety for good by being awake to drive at three in the morning, I hope! I've got receipts piled up that I want to enter into the computer, and am hoping Steve will make dinner eventually. He was given the meal suggestion by yours truly, he is strangely not much of a meal planner quite often, despite the fact he was a planner in his career.
I slept in hard this morning, and could not muster the enthusiasm to rush to church. Instead I had my coffee and did my phone routine, then my yoga, and then went to the store to get a few items - including coffee since I'd used the last of it. Steve had to wait awhile to get his java. Yesterday we both ended up doing yard work, although he also cleaned the fountain and did a lot more than I out there. The plants are growing like mad as you can imagine after all that rain. Anyway, we both are tired from Saturday's work.
This afternoon I went for a long bike ride with Dawn, we stopped along the way and she bought us doughnuts as a birthday treat. Between our travels and the rain, we haven't seen each other in a couple of months. So it was nice to spend time with her today.
I'm feeling a bit pressed for time, so will bid you all good night!
