What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread: Frieda (hopefully)? Holly Lee Louise Lynne Peachy
And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Just wanted to get us on the board until Holly starts the topic as I'm leaving the house soon for the day. I have one of my favorite events today - a friend makes a matza lasagna brunch. She is an excellent cook. I am keeping my IF fast until I get there - wonderful way to break it!
I pulled off a lovely kiddush yesterday. People marveled at my Aunt Bea's Passover rolls - they are always a hit. I also made matza kugel and tuna salad. Will probably bring the same things for Monday and Tuesday. I have declared Day 8 Potluck - am hoping folks will bring some noce (kosher le pesach) things. Not so secretly hoping there will be leftover matza lasagna for Tuesday!

Matzah lasagna sounds wonderful! I'm having tuna on matzah for lunch today, with some strawberries and iced tea. I've done well since my WI day on Friday, and I'm saving up my weeklies for a pizza treat Tuesday night. :+)

Thank you, Louise! I couldn't get into the internet earlier. It turns out the password I entered was in all upper case (instead of all lower case) so of course it wasn't "recognized...
I'd love to have your friend's recipe for matzah lasagna, Louise. Do you think she'd be willing to share it?
I'm sitting on the deck behind DS and DBIL's house. The sun is shining and although it's nice, it's hard to see the screen (my blouse is reflected in front of me... I'd wanted to discuss the Torah portion being read today either in Israel or in the Diaspora, but am having trouble seeing the screen, so let's do something easier.
What are your favorite recipes for the week of Passover? I'm not shomer but I do refrain from eating any leavened products altogether. Otherwise, my diet isn't much different from when it isn't Passover.
Can anyone recommend any tried and true recipes for me? (Last night, one of DS's friends, who happens to be at least a sous chef if not a chef, made his (by now) famous ratatouille. It's the best one I've ever tasted! And he made it parve (because of me; he's not Jewish but comes to our family seder every year).

Good afternoon everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: My favorite thing is so simple that it's silly; tea with milk and sugar, and matzo crumbled up in it. I eat it with a spoon. I've been enjoying this since I was a little kid.
Have a peaceful rest of the day, Lee

We make baked chicken, which is just boneless, skinless pieces sprinkled liberally with onion powder, garlic powder and Italian seasoning, cover with foil and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes (1 hour if you use bone-in pieces).
We make matzah ball soup from the Manischewitz mix, just adding parsley for a little extra flavor and color. You can put some leftover chicken in it too.
Baked salmon is also a favorite, just olive oil and some crushed garlic. It's especially good with roasted broccoli with olive oil and garlic.
I'm making myself hungry!
