Newcomers are always welcome - just jump in and post. Some people are regulars and visit daily, some pop in now and then, some stay to chat, some just listen. All are welcome. Post a personal message if you can. If you can't, that's okay too. You will find lots of support and encouragement here, and hopefully you will enjoy this thread as much as the rest of us.

Good Morning,
We got about three tenths of an inch of rain last night. We have more on the way for the next week. Could have up to four inches by next Friday with strong, severe storms Tuesday through Thursday of next week. I don't mind the rain but keep the storms away.
Yesterday Doug worked hard and got the yard taken care of weed eater and all. He also sprayed the fruit trees. We have lots of Cherries on the tree. We plan to make some strawberry jam this afternoon. Today is not a good day for outside chores. Doug needs some rest anyway.
I think I have the shower for next Saturday under control. I have been stressing about it. I helped Janice with some office chores yesterday.
Today I think will go to exercise then I have a couple of short errands to do while I am out. I also need to pay online bills.
Melissa and Wes's house is listed for sale. There is a link on my FB page. Prayers it sells quickly.
I need to cut the asparagus today. I forgot yesterday but I did get Doug's casserole made. It was delicious.
Janet hope your mom is feeling better today.
Annie prayers for Keisha's orders.
Barb your memorial is perfect for Sandy.
Lauren love and prayers so glad you are doing well so far.
I need to get moving.
Have a Blessed Day Count your Blessings, Karen

Good morning. We had a beautiful day here yesterday with just enough wind to dry my curtains on the clothesline without having to iron them, except for the one cotton one in the bathroom. Perfect. I finished up all the curtains, blinds and windows in the house. When Joe gets the siding and gutters done. I'll just wash the outsides of the windows again. Im not excited about getting up on the ladder (its been so many years since I've had to do that! Love the double hung windows now) but I don't want to take everything apart to get the windows washed again. We'll see. I'm just happy to have this huge chore done. My back talked to me after being up and down on the ladder but with some rest it is fine.
My plan was to just get my dining room sheers washed and hung out and I was headed back to moms. But she called and said she had eaten something and the nausea was so much better. She was feeling better and for me to just get done what I needed to do here. She was just going to rest and she was doing better. And she sounded better. So I continued on and called to check on her a few times and got all the windows done. I had to text Amy to see if she could come help me rehang the curtain above the patio door. I'd get one end up and the other end would fall. My arms just weren't long enough. She came after she got the girls from school. They were headed to get manicures for tonights fan club formal dance at school. They showed me photos on their phones of what their nails were going to look like. I can't wait to see them all dressed up tonight (and in their high top converse tennis shoes...crazy! But they are comfortable, Grandma. ha!). This is their first formal dance. They get out of school early today so Amy is taking them to get their hair done. this is just the beginning of all this formal stuff for them.
I went to moms about 4. She looked really good. Just really tired. I told her I called and got anxiety meds for her. So I picked those up. They said for her to take it at bedtime as it might make her drowsy. Gosh, I sure hope it did! She needs sleep. But she was eating more and looked so much better last night. I had plans to stay with her until bedtime, but storms were brewing and I wanted to get my van in the garage so I went home just after 8pm. I haven't heard from her yet this morning. Thank you all for your prayers. She's sure had a rough go of it. Hopefully she is turning the corner.
My neighbor walked over a birthday card and some cookies (no flour, just oats and peanut butter) and we sat and had a nice visit. I enjoyed her cookies with my coffee this morning.
Joe called and sent me a photo of his big catch yesterday. They FINALLY caught some really nice crappie. Dick got the prize of the biggest one wich was 13-1/2 inches long. Really nice. So Joe was a happy boy. They are going to fish some this morning before heading home.
My plan is to get my bathrooms scrubbed this morning and the kitchen floor swiffered and then call it done for the weekend. I'm pretty tired. And, Gary Allan is in St Louis tonight. Colleen is crazy about him (like I am with George Strait) and I really like his music, too. They all said because of the fishing trip we wouldn't go to the concert this time, but I will be totally shocked if they don't "surprise" me with the concert tonight. I know that Gary Allan is not coming to St Louis without Colleen being there. ha! So, we shall see but if I was a betting person I'd bet on this one. ha!
Lauren: It is so good to see you posting with us again. You are doing so great! Keep doing what you are doing. Love ya!
Peggy: Mom can't have any noise. I've suggested the white noise (actually Jim and Terrie have it when they visit) but mom isn't interested in that. I'm thinking Joe and I will set a bed and sitting area up in her basement. There is a very basic bathoom down there that I can clean up to use. This is going to be a challenge for sure!
Annie: I hope your friends can reschedule your dinner soon.
Barb: The anxiety meds were ordered for just 10 days, but hopefully that will bridge the gap until the antidepressant kicks in.
Karen: Your post reminds me of when I used to pick my grandma's strawberries and we'd make freezer jam together. So many wonderful memories of my grandma. I miss her. I'll bet Melissa gets offers on her house today! So beautiful.
CASue: When do you leave for your camping trip? Have so much fun!

Good afternoon, Café friends,
I missed the morning by about a half hour. I’ve done the grocery shopping today with Robin, now he’s making me some chicken soup. I got hungry for it and my back decided to seize on me so I’m on the couch with an icepack and trying not to do too much. I have the sourdough starter incubating and then will make the loaf and let it set until tomorrow morning after my workout. Then I’ll bake it before we have to go to the birthday party at 4:00.
Sandy’s funeral is being live-streamed in about 15 minutes so I’ll probably watch it, even though funerals are uncomfortable for me. I owe her my attention.
I need to change my ice pack since I used a gel one. I do better with a plastic bag filled with ice cubes and wrapped in a towel. That will numb me up good, and hopefully take down the inflammation. While I’m up I’ll check on my soup. When it’s sufficiently done, I’ll shred the chicken and add beaten eggs to it for egg drop soup.
Gotta run - running out of time. Until tomorrow!

Good afternoon,
We are up here in the Bay Area at Rosie and Craig's home. Rosie is a motor mouth and there's not a silent moment to be had, but it's great to be spending time together. We had a relatively easy drive up here until we got past San Jose, but we ended up going this side route for the last thirty miles through some windy canyon that was gorgeous, and while not very much faster, was definitely a more pleasant drive than staying on the freeway. We'll be staying here until Monday.
The past week I really overdid it in the exercise department: swimming on Friday, gardening on Saturday, biking on Sunday, golfing on Monday, hiking on Tuesday, and golfing again on Wednesday. I definitely lost my energy and focus the last few holes on Wednesday which made me realize I had overdid it. I was exhausted yesterday and last night, but am feeling more energetic today. I need to be more realistic about how much I can do and how much I need to recuperate. I enjoyed it though! Chris and I went on a relatively short hike - two miles each way - but with a 1000 foot elevation gain up to a lovely vista at the top, aptly named Inspiration Point. I hadn't been up there in years, it was fun to be back there.
It's supposed to rain here tomorrow, so if we ever get moving here we'll get out for a walk eventually. Today is gorgeous, so a good day to get outside.
Looks like we're getting going here, so I'll say goodbye. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Good Afternoon Y'all,
I had a good time at cards last night. I will be hosting in 2 weeks.
It's been a rainy day. I've been busy around the house...and reading.
Not much to report...
(((HUGS))) all, Peggy ^..^
