Good Morning,
We are headed to 80 today with thunderstorms, nothing severe. We have fog right now.
Good day yesterday got the errands caught up. Got the okara and squash plants we needed. We will get them out today. We also picked over a gallon of strawberries yesterday. I am making jam today and a couple of pies and will give some to Noni.
We are visiting Billy and Martha today to get some memories of our church for a slide show on Homecoming. Did I tell you our church is 190 years old this month. We are having a huge celebration on May 19.
We will watch the Derby this afternoon. I have some laundry to do and that is about it for today. We will pick strawberries again late afternoon and then not pick again till Monday.
Janet glad your mom is feeling better and you got to go to the concert last night.
Maggie/Barb I put the info on the house on FB Messenger I think that will get you a view of the house.
Lauren sending love and prayers. Glad you are doing so well.
I need to get going.
Have a Blessed Day, Count your Blessings, Karen

Good morning! It will be another nice day here - high in the 80's, with a clear, blue sky. But the wind is picking up, and it will cool down to the high 60's tomorrow. It's what we're getting of the cold front hitting CA today. It's still snowing in Tahoe - on my! I looked at the camera at Kirkwood ski resort yesterday - there is still a ton of snow on the ground there. That's the area we would camp at when we camped in CA. No camping there yet!
Belated Happy Birthday to Karen & Janet! It looks like you both had good days - Janet, I hope your Mom finds the help she needs.
Karen - I took a peak at Melissa & Wes' home in Nashville on Zillow - it's beautiful. They have done a wonderful job remodeling it over the years - I can see why it was such a hard decision to move to the lake house. It should sell quickly - I hope.
Lauren - It's also good to see your posts - I'm glad you're getting back to "normal", cooking, getting your hair cut, and just interacting with us all again. Prayers you can lose the walker soon too! And prayers for healing also. I'm glad that 2nd drug is being taken without side effects - may they do their job that is intended.
I've had a busy last half of the week - it's monthend and I'm busy with this in the morning. I get up and pretty much the first thing I look at is my email - and then I'm right at work. It's the weekend today, so I haven't look there yet! LOL! The close is this coming Tuesday, so I'll be back to my normal daily posting if I miss Mon & Tues next week!
We have the harness for the kitten, and she's taken it well. It still needs a bit of adjusting - she slipped out of it on Thurs night - but I caught her quickly and back inside she came. And then last night, she snuck out the front door when I opened it looking for Scooter - once again, she was caught quickly.
Our vegi plants are starting to show signs of vegetable's! Tomatoes, zucchini & peppers all are starting to bud. I've counted 10 tomatoes - but 2 of the 3 plants are baby tomatoes, so they'll be easy to eat and not be overwhelmed with. And we need to catch those zucchini's before they get too big - that can happen quickly. And the asparagus have started to sprout also, they're still inside. But Greg has painted another barrel for me for those. It's green! I'm hoping to have a barrel just for those - we'll see if enough sprout! We have 3 types of peppers - 1 plant each. Jalapeno, Bell and Poblano. Stuffed poblano peppers are the best - they have just a touch of heat!
Everyone is up here - I'm going to run. Have a good day everyone
Sue

Good Morning Cafe Friends
Well, they said I’d have good days and not-so-good days and unfortunately yesterday wasn’t so good. Lots of dizzies and blurred vision. All I wanted was to lie down and honestly, that’s all I did. Spent my day tied to my med and food schedule awaiting 10 pm when I can finally get into bed for the night. Sorry to tell you the negative but the good news is I feel better today. I will do my PT exercises once I finish here and hopefully get thru them. I don’t know what set me off yesterday but I’m glad it’s gone.
Janet: so happy to see you got to the concert. How is mom doing? I hope better each day.
Waving to all. Have a great start to your weekend.
Lauren

Good Saturday morning. Although the morning is getting away from me. Joe and I sat and got caught up with our Bible in a Year. I'm ready to go out and get these plants in pots that I bought mid week.
Yesterday mom scared the begeebees out of me. She didn't call and she didn't call. I was afraid to ring the phone in case she was finally getting some sleep. But it got to be 9:30 then 9:45. I finally decided to grab my set of her house keys and try to sneak in and check on her. As I was rustling through the drawer to find the keys, she called. She said she slept at least 10 hours! She fell asleep about 9pm watching tv. Woke up at 10:45 and took her night time meds (not the anxiety pill though) and slept until 8:30. Went to the bathroom and slept until 9:45. She got up and ate a bite to take her medicine and decided she better call me. I was more than relieved. I had myself pretty worked up. Thank you Jesus! She hasn't taken any of the anxiety medication yet. She was tired all day yesterday and just napped, which was a problem at bedtime last night so she didn't sleep much at all. Hopefully she'll be awake more today and sleep better tonight. Her body clock is way off now. I really think a lot of her problem is anxiety. I think she had herself convinced she had a brain tumor or something when those headaches were so bad and she just got herself all worked up. The CT scan really has helped that now that she knows only mucus was detected in her sinuses. Which, is enough. She has a lot of it and it makes her really sick. But things are better. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.
I got the bathrooms scrubbed and purged a couple of closets of Joe's clothes. Those wardrobe boxes are so nice. And got those boxes moved over to moms. Got her plants watered and birds fed and trash out. She was groggy but doing much better. So I came home and got my shower and got myself cleaned up. The girls were taking photos in the park in town before the dance. They looked so cute all dressed up. I hope they had a great time at the dance.
Joe and Dick pulled in with the boat just as I was ready to go to the park. They unloaded everything while we went to see the girls. I did get surprised. No one had purchased concert tickets. But we looked and there were still some available so the guys showered and off we went. It was FAR from here. Well over an hour. We got there just as the concert was starting, the opening act anyway. We had a great time. It was a super show. Enjoyed it a lot.
My brother has his Kentucky Derby party today. I hope the weather cooperates. Looks like rain in Kentucky and storms here early evening. That will be a mess for them with their 100 plus guests in their home. He has his new building this year now that is just for entertaining but it doesn't hold 100 people. Im sure it will all work out. The party starts at 2 but we will go to 4pm mass then head over there in time for the race.
I'm off to get these plants in pots and pull some weeds. My landscaping is in need of attention.
Have a great Saturday all.
Barb: I sure hope your back is better today. Back pain is just plain awful.
Lauren: So good to see you with us again.
Maggie: Enjoy your visit

Good morning, Café friends,
I went to bed sneezing last night so took a benedryl to dry me up and help me sleep. My back is also dealing me fits. I’m hoping that it’s just allergies bothering my nose. I have no other symptoms of a cold or anything else, so think it’s just allergies from all the wind and rain bringing pollens in. In general I don’t have many allergies, but do know that I’m sensitive to pines and whatever is in the dust when the winds blow. In any case, I texted Thomas to let him know that I wasn’t going to show up today just in case I’m contagious with something.
Since I stayed home, I got my sourdough bread in the oven. I hope it turns out since I didn’t get a chance to actually watch Karen mix hers and see how she completed all the steps. Some recipes call for proofing in the fridge, but I just kept mine on the counter all night and it was doubled in bulk this morning. The dough is very sticky and strange to work with, and I’m sure it’ll take me a couple of times before I master it. It’s better than regular bread for gluten sensitive people, but it is still high carb so I can’t eat much of it. Tracy will eat it, though as she misses bread since we don’t have it in the house anymore. The house smells great. I could smell the yeasty quality when I woke up and now that the bread is in the oven, it smells even better.
This afternoon is the birthday party for Lyn, our 80-yo in the church. She certainly doesn’t look 80, and doesn’t move like it either. It starts at 4 and dinner will be served. I will probably eat something before we go, just because the foods offered may not be what I prefer to eat. Hoping Tracy will be home from work by then and decides to come too.
Janet - hope your mom continues to get some meaningful sleep. Lack of sleep contributes to depression and anxiety. Glad she is improving.
Lauren - hope you continue to have mostly good days. Get lots of rest when you can. It’s so good to see you here posting regularly!
My bread is done baking - now to let it cool completely before I slice into it. Karen - do you oil the parchment paper that is in the Dutch oven? I had a lot of sticking trying to take it off. I’ll have to get the rest off when I cut into it.
I need to get going. I’ll be doing some stretching for my back after I use the heating pad. The pain is really bad after I sit any length of time, but really can’t spend the whole day standing up either. Have a good day, Everyone!

Good morning. Late morning, but still morning. Greg fixed bacon and eggs this morning. I’ve been just lazing around doing stuff on my iPad. We have a dreary overcast day today. The sun is supposed to peak out at 1:00, but I don’t have my hopes up. We’re only getting up to 69°. Yesterday was similar, but with slightly higher temps. I worked on a few pages of the scrapbook. I did some little pick up around the house and did my laundry. I even got it put away. Today I’m going to clean and organize the refrigerator door. Then I have to make the guys keep it that way. I’m slowly taking back the house. So far Greg has tolerated it, but he fights any organization. He doesn’t really see the point, but when I do it he likes the results. I really think it’s in his DNA. His mom was the same. She couldn’t remember where she put the sugar canister, not the bowl, the canister. While I was out of commission the kitchen got really disorganized. It’s getting back to my normal little by little.
I need to get going before the day gets away from me. Have a good day.
Annie
