Good morning friends,
So much going on with the storms and such, I'm sorry I've been late or absent lately. For us, everything is mostly back to normal, but not for many others in Tallahassee. There were many heartbreaking stories in the yoga class yesterday. I've sent two donations - one to Second Harvest, our food bank, and another to a family whose home was basically destroyed. I wish I could do more, but so grateful that we can do that much.
This afternoon, I'll drive to Thomasville to get my car repaired, if they have the part in. I have to go all the way up there, because everything here is closed, damaged or has no power. I don't mind going up there and I'll get myself a nice lunch while I'm there. I have to take a route I wouldn't normally use because so many roads are closed.
Saturday, my yoga mate and I will drive to our yoga retreat in NC. We're going to stop in North Georgia to spend the night and go the rest of the way on Sunday. The sign-in for the retreat is on Sunday afternoon, so we'll have a leisurely drive.
Esther, I'm glad someone else will be handling Don's Medicaid application. Sorry about Earl's illness and his unwillingness to deal with it.
Joyce, I'm sorry you had to miss the women's club luncheon yesterday. I know how much you enjoyed it. Perhaps you can replace it with something else in the meantime?
Lynn, I know you are so busy with your house renovations.
Hoping you all have a good day!

Good morning everyone!
Maryenne, I'm so sorry your area was hit so hard by the tornado and glad that you were safe. It is almost unimaginable the damage one can do in just the blink of an eye. There's really no time to prepare as they come and go so quickly.
Lynn, when do you go back to MA to stay during your house remodel? It is so nice that you have a second home not that far away so that you can get away from the remodeling and yet still regularly check on the progress.
Esther, hope all is well with you. Any news from Earl? I hope he's feeling better.
We have definitely had our share of rain here. Late yesterday it poured down so hard you couldn't even see across the street! I'm hoping that it at least won't rain today.
Yesterday we did do the Sam's run although I didn't buy a lot as my knee just won't let me be up walking for very long periods at a time. We also decided to replace the dishwasher in the rental we're preparing to put back on the market. The one there now is the original one that was in the house when we bought it back in 2015, and was most likely old then. So we also shopped for that at both Lowe's and Home Depot. Found a nice Maytag on sale at Lowe's, and they're delivering that today. Our handyman will do the installation. We also went out to eat at a place we don't normally go. It specializes in fried catfish and hush puppies, which is something I grew up eating and love. Sadly it doesn't love me back anymore. I've reached the point where I just can't eat fried food anymore. My stomach rebelled all night, and it still isn't happy this morning. So no more fried food for me. Funny how as we get older some foods we've always enjoyed just become a real problem to digest properly.

Good evening friends
Maryenne, I hope you were able to get the car in order. The damage in your area is devastating!
Esther, sending mojo to your boyfriend for better health.
Joyce, good luck with the new dishwasher.
We will be heading up to MA Saturday morning. We will probably be down once a week to check on progress, pay bills, a couple of upcoming appointments.
Have a peaceful day. Lynn

I'm back from Thomasville. My lunch was just take-out from Wendy's because it took longer to get there than I anticipated. But the car is fixed and at a reasonable price. We're going to have leftover spaghetti for supper. I'm relaxing for a bit with a beverage. Hope you all have a nice evening!
