Good morning!
Late today I get the MRI on my knee although I won't have the results until the 29th. At least that's moving forward.
Nick had another bad fall late yesterday afternoon. He was in back of one of the rentals and went down a steep slope that he even says himself that in the back of his mind he thought he should not do, but did anyway. Of course he was all alone, and I didn't even know he was there. He had a really hard time getting up and back home.
I took him to convenient care to be x-rayed as he could barely walk his hip hurt so badly. Fortunately there was no fracture, but he did stab an old piece of wire into his finger, so that was another issue. He had recently had a tetanus shot thankfully. Now he is on antibiotics for that to be safe, and moving very slowly around the house on a walker.
When he went to the dentist yesterday as suspected they couldn't do the bridge until after he sees an endodontist for the tooth beside it. They made him an endo appointment for today, but now that will need to be rescheduled. It seems that just two old crippled people live at our house. That needs to improve. We need a drink from the Fountain of Youth. 🤣
Wishing you each a lovely, healthy day!

Update: Convenient Care just called. Turns out he has an open fracture, whatever that means, of his finger. They are sending him to a hand specialist. Will call me back shortly with details about that.

nashville11 , good luck to Nick! OMG It doesn’t rain but it pours. Sending prayers and hugs for both of you!! We are settling into our Berkshires routine, DH has been planting in the gardens, I have been organizing things here for longer-term living. I set up my little office corner in the living room, rearranged some clothes. Sending maryenne wishes for a relaxing yoga retreat. Waving to Esther. Have a peaceful day. Lynn

2nd Update: We just got home from the ortho hand specialist. He says that he does not think there is a fracture at all. He thinks the Convenient Care radiologist "over read" the x-ray, and that what he was seeing was some kind of old bone spur that had dropped off. So that was very good news. He wants to continue the antibiotic because of danger of getting tendons infected from the dirty wire. Also prescribed soaking in Epsom salts twice a day to help draw out any possible debris, and see him again on the 31st. Nick's whole hand is really swollen, but that was wonderful news that there is no actual fracture and of course no surgery necessary. Very relieved! I had been worried about him possibly having to go through surgery.
Right now it is storming like crazy. Fortunately we can pull right into the garage and so didn't have to get out in the rain. I get my MRI at 5:30, which seems very late but evidently just a regular appointment time for them. Hopefully the storm will have passed over by then.

Hello!
Joyce, I sure hope the drama ends at your house!
The yoga retreat is really awesome and exhausting. I've made a lot of new friends to boot. I'll be home Saturday afternoon.
Hugs to you all!
