What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread:
Frieda (hopefully)? Holly Lee Louise Lynne Peachy
And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Sorry to be late again today. It wasn't as hectic as yesterday, thank goodness, but I had phone calls and computer stuff to do which slowed me down.
Today's topic: Emotions
I'm thinking of this for a topic because the movie, "Inside Out 2", has just come out in theaters. I called Disney+ yesterday, and they said that the movie wouldn't be streaming for a couple of months.
Are you an emotional person? What emotions do you feel the most often? How do they affect your behavior?
I consider myself an emotional person, but therapy and meds help me stay positive. As for emotions I feel most often, I'd have to say happiness (thank you God) but also anxiety (just because there's often so much going on that I need to cope with). My behavior is affected by many things: feeling good helps me be aware of good things, while feeling anxious makes me worry that bad things could happen.
I used to worry a lot more. Now, worrying goes hand in hand with feeling overwhelmed. Fortunately, I can handle life better than I used to.
Is worrying a Jewish trait? I don't know about that, but an awful lot of Jewish humor involves laughing at ourselves when we feel anxious.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, whether I manage to drag myself to the theater or wait until I can watch it at home in comfort.
I hope you enjoyed this week; I got a lot out of it. Have a peaceful day, Lee

Inside Out was really good so I hope to see the sequel as well (if I can drag myself to the movies). I get pretty emotional sometimes either worrying or stressed about how much I need to do. I can usually bring myself back. Sometimes by just stopping and giving myself some space. Someetimes by talking to a friend or colleague. Sometimes a mani-pedi to cheer me up and relax me. Sometimes a nice iced coffee beverage. These things can break the tension. The thing is I think to recognize that I am in a state and then take steps to wind it down.
