Over 60 & Still Working - Saturday

Good morning!

We got up this morning and went to the Farmers' Market. We got a large cantaloupe, some onions, peppers, and zucchini as well as a loaf of banana walnut bread and zucchini bread. We'll use the breads for breakfasts with our coffee, and I put one of them in the freezer so it will stay fresh. The zucchini I bought is orange. I've never seen that before, have you? The farmer who grew it said it is a hybrid and has a really good flavor, so we'll see. After the Farmers' Market we stopped at the grocery store, and I just finished putting everything away. It is going to be a scorching hot weekend here.

Joyce, I have had the golden zucchini before. It seems to have a slightly thicker skin than the green variety. Your haul from the farmer’s market sounds delicious!

Hoping Maryenne is enjoying the weekend with Thomas and his parents. Waving to Esther.

We picked up my sister in law yesterday and had a lovely dinner at the farm restaurant last night. Today we’ll take a walk to the bookstore while DH mows the lawn. It’s supposed to get into the 90’s next week. So far we have not had to turn on the AC.

It has been a quiet day here. Thomas is napping and James and Cathleen have gone to their favorite swimming hole. They really needed a break. I'm here reading the latest Erik Larson book.
