Hi everyone , I enjoyed your responses to the question yesterday about the 10 commandments. I feel lucky to have such intelligent, thoughtful friends with whom I can communicate on issues of the day.
Biden and Trump are set to do their first debate on Wednesday night. I am absolutely petrified about the presidential election, wondering how I’ll survive (emotionally) if Trump wins.
Will you watch the debate? Why or why not?

Yes, I'll watch it. I still remember Trump standing behind Hilary Clinton when they debated. That was so eerie. He's a real piece of work. What his people are planning if Trump is elected is absolutely terrifying - actually terrifying even if he loses because there has been so much planning it will be looming out there regardless. So maybe I'll be watching to see that the good guy makes it through okay and that the other guy says something completely outrageous (well you can pretty much count on that). I hope he behaves. The rules are very strict but I suppose he'll keep talking whether his mike is on or not. I would rather hear it first hand than just hear about it later from the talking heads.

My mental health will not allow me to watch this evil excuse for a human put his ignorance on display. I remember how he literally stalked Hillary CLinton on the stage and I turned to DH and said "well, that's over for him" figuring NO ONE could watch that and vote for him. This time is far, far worse, because he has a plan to make our country a dictatorship and destroy our democracy. I'm on the political board on here and they'll watch it for me. We have all got to get out the vote. And unfortunately many young people (and not young) are making this a one issue vote--Gaza. They're all for the "poor Palestinians" and against Biden and Israel. THAT frightens me because it's young people who are the future and they don't know what they are doing in making such important decisions on one issue with which they don't agree and know nothing about.

DH will watch all of it, and I imagine I will only make it through some of it before the urge to barf overtakes me. I do want to hear it firsthand, but I'm not sure I can tolerate it.
It's supposed to be in the 90s today, and I have my Well Woman checkup smack in the middle of the day. They're also turning the water off for the whole building we live in, for most of the day (plumbing work). So we stockpiled plenty of iced tea as well as water and ice, with buckets of water in the kitchen and bathrooms for washing and flushing. Oh well, luckily, I have enough points to treat myself to some ice cream today, so that's what I'm going to do on the way back from the doctor's office.
Everyone stay comfy and cool!

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: I won't be watching the debate as the sight and sound of Trump make me feel physically ill.
Have a peaceful day, Lee
