What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread: Frieda (hopefully) Holly Lee Louise Lynne Peachy
And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy

Just trying to keep myself even. I still haven’t transferred my email to my new computer – I need to get that done. There’s lot of work due as I get ready to go on vacation. I can only do what I can do. What I need to remember is that getting anxious about it will not increase my productivity. I’ve started preparing clothing for the trip and took the time to hem a pair of pants this evening that I would like to take. I bought them on eBay as cropped pants but they came to my ankle. Not want I wanted for “summer camp”. It was something easy and relatively relaxing to do. Time well spent. I’m going to fit in a hair-cut and a mani-pedi too. I decided that these things are important for my well being and will actually help me feel that I am on top of things. They are not just frivolous things.
I guess what I’m reminding myself is it’s important to take care of your whole self! Not just work. Not just chores. Your whole self.

Just this morning (only a little while ago) I dug out an old thingy (sorry, I have no idea what its name is or what it's called) for pedicures. It's like a little tub that you put your feet into (after you put in the warm-to-hot water) for the feet to soak in. It has a small motor underneath and a cord that you plug into a regular outlet which, when plugged in, shakes just enough to make your feet feel terrific. I cleaned it and it's drying now. I deserve to soak my feet even without having the soothing vibration of the water. I'm not sure whether I can fit that all in today or not, but so what; at least it'll be ready when I do.
This isn't pampering. It's a necessity.

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: I am actually ALONE in the house for a few hours. That is pampering enough. DH has been doing whatever he can to help himself, and DS has been a marvel, but I am so relieved at having some time to just myself. I'm not planning on doing anything special, but just relaxing in solitude sounds wonderful.
Have a peaceful day, Lee

I couldn't get to sleep last night and only slept a couple of hours when I did finally drop off. This is unusual for me - I rarely have sleep issues. As a result, I'm dragging today and trying to find something to be positive about. Maybe a catnap at lunchtime? And some caffeine until then...

I have been in alternate universe for the past 24 hours, trying to get home on Delta airlines! We finally gave up when delta kept cancelling flights, and are now on a layover in Vegas (Vegas, baby!) , flying Southwest. We have had little sleep, but we are doing fine. We had a blissful vacay, and this is a small price to pay for that.
