What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread:
Frieda (hopefully)? Holly Lee Louise Lynne Peachy
And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Good morning and shavua tov!
In honor of the Summer Olympics, here’s my question for today. If you could instantly master any sport, which one would you choose, and why? (Assume you would have no physical limitations.) What appeals to you most: the activity itself, the health benefits, or the camaraderie with a team or exercise buddy? Or something else? As a skilled athlete, do you think you would be more interested in the competitive side of your sport, or the fun of it?
I think I would choose swimming as my sport. I’m only an adequate swimmer; I can have fun in the water and swim to safety if I have to, but mostly I just play around in a pool or at the beach. If I could be a skilled swimmer, I would love to swim laps and enjoy feeling the water on my skin, the strength of my arms and legs, and just the idea of being in the water. I’m not really interested in competition, so for me, being on a team would be more about the camaraderie.
How about you?

Yes, me too, swimming. I used to belong to a gym (I'm going back to the 1980s with this reminiscence). I went to the gym every morning before work; I don't remember a lot about the exercise routine I did or which machines I used, but I clearly remember sitting in the hot tub, steam room, and swimming 20 laps (or maybe it was lengths) in the Olympic-size pool. My body looked GREAT!!! And I was healthy and felt really really good!

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: If I could do gymnastics at an Olympic level, I would be very happy. Hey, if I could walk around without a walker I'd be very happy!
I saw my ophthalmologist on Friday morning, and all is well. I'm probably going to get new glasses as I've had my current ones for two years. My prescription hasn't changed much, but I think it's time for new frames.
Have a peaceful day, Lee
