What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread:
Frieda (hopefully)? Holly Lee Louise Lynne Peachy
And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Today's topic: Fun with family.
What do you do that is fun with your family? For me, I like hanging out with either DH or DS or both of them to do things that are fun. First is cooking. I really enjoy it when we all cook something together. It is also our best time for talking. This is generally on the weekend, as DH is at work during the week.
DS, on the other hand, and I spend a lot of time together. Some things we do for fun are talking (of course), playing Scrabble or Acey-Deucey, watching old movies, and making whatever meals we don't have with DH. I like going for drives with him when we have errands. Sometimes we just go out for a drive too. We haven't been doing that as much as we used to, but ought to as we both enjoy it.
As for other family, I try to keep in touch with people via the phone or email or both. I guess I just like talking with people!
How about you?
I'm going to do Tuesday's lead today, as I have early fasting labs tomorrow.
Have a peaceful day, Lee

I have so little family I don't see them very often. When I visit my brother and SIL or his son's family there is generally good eating and some kind of walk or hike. They all bike and play pickleball which I don't participate in.

One of the things I miss during the summer, when the local grandkids are at camp, is our weekly shabbos dinner. It is SO much fun to listen to the girls joke and talk, and everyone is generally relaxed.

We like to play games: Scrabble, Boggle, Cranium, Scattergories, all kinds of stuff. It's so much fun! But I do look forward to Shabbat dinner every Friday night. Everyone can relax, share whatever they want to, get into discussions of various topics, and get support when things aren't going well.
I have a doctor's appointment at noon to go over my lab results (cholesterol, bone density, et al). I've already seen the results in our patient portal, so I'm prepared with questions to go over with the doc. BBL!
