Good morning dear friends I am up a little early , at least for me these days. It is beautiful outside- sunny, cool. I love the prelude to fall and then fall itself. We drove a friend to pick up his new car yesterday. It was a beautiful drive, at least when we weren’t in the small section of road construction in the “city” of Pittsfield. We drove through the little town where my daughters played softball on an all-star traveling team when they were in middle school and high school. maryenne , my bff had a similar episode with one of her eyes. It took several weeks to start to resolve. Her biggest frustration was not driving. Hang in there, it will start to improve. I understand the frustration at not driving and relying on DH. I want to get to Staples today since the request to drive our friend took most of the afternoon and it was a last-minute request. The only thing I have to do today is pack up to go to RI tomorrow for a week. DS set up the bed in the guest room so we don’t need to stay in a hotel. I hope you had a Gidget time at bunch Joyce. Some people I used to work with played and said it was a lot of fun. Waving to Esther. I am interested in what the others read from the banned books list. Have a peaceful day. Lynn

mooselady12, thank you for your kind words. This morning I was reading research studies about vitreous hemorrhage and they all say it improves 1 percent a day on the average. Arghhh. But that gives me the clue that I need to put a hold on all my tutoring sessions until mid October at least. This pains me so much, but it is the most practical thing and it will relieve some stress. So, I'll write an email to the literacy director at the library and let her know and I'll let the students know. I'll plan to go to Buffalo on Sept 18 and stay three weeks. I have to be back by October 10 for a follow-up mammogram.
Sorry that I have been all about me so much.
Joyce, I've never played bunko but have a friend who is in a bunko group and it seems like they have a lot of fun.
Esther, how is the banned book reading going?

Hello everyone! Maryenne, you definitely are not focusing too much on yourself. We want to be here to support you, and it's understandable that what you are going through is very stressful. I think your plan to visit Buffalo and take a hiatus from the tutoring are both very good ideas. Lynn, it's so nice that you'll be able to stay in your own home when you are back in RI this time. That will be much more comfortable for you. You're a good friend to drive your friend to pick up their new car. Esther, hope all is well with you and everyone you love. It's been a gloomy kind of day here with lots of clouds, but so far no rain. We did go and buy the new dishwasher. We ended up going with the KitchenAid, and our handyman is supposed to install it tomorrow. Bunko was interesting and I met a lot of new ladies. Of the 12 ladies only 3 were people I already knew. It really is just a game of luck and not skill, so it didn't matter that I had never played before. In fact, I ended up winning a $10 Kroger gift card. I would not mind subbing again if needed, but I would not want to do it on a regular monthly basis. It's really just not "my thing." Speaking of new cars, DD finally got a new-to-her car so I don't need to share anymore. She ended up going with a used Tesla. I hope she will be happy with that. The all electric is such a new thing that it concerns me a bit.
