Good morning!
Up early waiting for furniture delivery. I am having lunch with DD! And my niece today. Not sure what else is happening.
We had a lovely visit with our friends last night. We went to a seafood place down by the water. We used to go there years ago but haven’t been for a while. I had a shrimp pesto dish. Delicious!
Have a peaceful day! Lynn

Good morning!
Lynn, I hope you will love the new furniture. Is this the bedroom furniture and had so many nice features? I know it's taking awhile to get the house remodeled the way you want it, but the wait will be so worth it. Everything you are doing sounds lovely!
Maryenne and Esther, I hope the weekend has started off well for both of you. Maryenne, it's great that you are going to be a long visit with Thomas and family.
It's bright and sunny but cooler today with only a high of 79 predicted. That sounds like fall is giving us a bit of a preview. Yesterday when I went to the doctor he was concerned because we don't seem to be getting a clear path forward for how to control my blood pressure. The medicine he added on last time doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. It still continues to be highest in the mornings (this morning was 192/97), and goes down during the day but never to where it should be. Usually hovering around 150s-170s on top. Because I'm diabetic he wants the top number not to go above 135 and prefers 130. Well, that is just not happening. I was already taking 4 BP meds, and now he is adding on #5. I had the sleep study done, but that came back normal. He also did chest x-rays and an EKG yesterday. I have a heart ultrasound scheduled but it's not until October, and he is having me see a cardiologist, but so far can't get in to see him until November. My family history is rife with heart disease. I am trying to exercise regularly riding the recumbent bike with 5 miles a day. I am trying to watch salt intake (although I admit I could probably do a better job of that), etc. I am religiously keeping a log of my blood pressure at intervals through the day. So life goes on, and hopefully he'll find the right answer. I have been on blood pressure medication since I was 40 years old, although admittedly not so much.
This afternoon Step-son #2 and DGS Tyler will be here for an overnight stay. I'm happy for them to come, and want them to always know that they are welcome here. Since this is a private group I will admit only to those of you here that I do dread the visit. Tyler is a beautiful child, he is our grandchild, and we love him. But he is severely autistic (which he can not help), and that makes him a challenge to manage especially when he's outside his comfort zone. The last time he was here it was very difficult, but we had a house full of company with Texas family and Tennessee family so he was over stimulated a lot. This should be quieter as only the two of them will be here. Even so when they pull out of the driveway tomorrow afternoon you can expect that the two old codgers who live here full time will be exhausted. 😂

Good morning my friends,
mooselady12 , I'm so excited for your newly-renovated house! Enjoy your lunch!!!
nashville11 , I'm sorry about your bp. My primary care doctor threw up his hands and turned me over to the cardiologist, who was able to figure out the right meds and dosages. I hope you can get into the cardio guy sooner. I know how frustrating it can be. I hope your visit with Tyler and his Dad goes well.
Nothing much to report from me. I do think my vision is improving. I still have very visible floaters in that eye, but the blurriness is slowly going away. I really hope that I'll be able to drive next week.
I'm writing two sets of postcards this weekend - one for a woman (Kristin McDonald Rivet) in Michigan running for Congress and the other for a man (Tony Vargas) in Nebraska also running for Congress.
Hello, Esther!

Good evening! nashville11 , yes, this is the fancy new bed! The cat jumped on it, stretched out and purred so loudly! I guess he likes the bed! I hope Tyler has a good visit. I have worked with people on the spectrum and it can be challenging. Some things I have learned over the years are that routines are essential. Keep distractions to a minimum as much as possible. One of our relatives is on the spectrum, although fairly mild. We also learned that we have to announce ahead of time when there will be a change- like getting ready to go to the store. I take it as an opportunity to practice patience. And yes, it can be exhausting! maryenne , I am keeping you in my prayers that your eye continues to improve. It’s frustrating to “take it easy” when we are used to being on the go independently. Waving to Esther.
