What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread:

Good morning everyone! Did you watch the presidential debate last night? What were your impressions? Did anything surprise you? How do you think the candidates did?
DH, DS35 and I watched it together from start to finish. I hoped Kamala Harris would be good, and she was great. She was prepared, informed, passionate and positive. I even dared to hope that Donald Trump would at least behave like a professional, but he spewed a lot of nonsense at best and vitriol at worst.
I fervently hope Harris wins. The idea of Trump in the White House again turns my stomach and inspires terror in my heart.
How about you?

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: I've already read a bunch about the debate, and plan to stream it later. Since I needed to wake up at 4AM, I couldn't manage staying awake until 11PM. DH watched it and said Harris "mopped the floor with him." I'm glad.
Have a peaceful day, Lee

"mopped the floor" is so much nicer than what I can say about his "performance." Did you all catch that he said he'd read that she "put out"? The lies just spewed out of his mouth for two hours!
I was very ticked off that the two ABC News people didn't turn off his microphone for at least the last two times he said he had to respond to something Harris had said, plus I was very ticked off neither one called him on his NOT responding to their "yes/no" questions...
I assumed he'd make an A$$ of himself and he did. But I wasn't prepared for how GREAT Harris did. I kept telling her (okay, telling my TV) to stop using his name! He never once mentioned hers, did he? He said "Biden" and "Joe" enough times though.
I woke up around 3 this morning and remembered a dream I'd been having and thought it was interesting that I hadn't been dreaming about the fiasco they dared to call a debate; I mused for a short time about what I'd seen on TV and then was 100% unable to remember what the dream had been about. Ugh.
I'm looking forward to reading the listing of truths and lies from the candidates. I've already marked a USA Today article to read when I have more time (which means after I get home from minyan).

I was actually shocked by her (in a good way). Things like about world leaders just not liking him and autocrats knowing how to manipulate him. She wouldn't talk like that to any other dignitary - she knew who she was talking too! And about democrats being in favor of killing babies aftr they were born and imigrants kidnapy and eating poeple's pet dogs - seriously cray cray. I'm glad they nailed him on those swiftly and quietly. And then Taylor Swift posting a beautifully written endorsement signed "childless cat lady. Whipped cream on top.
