What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.

Good morning! Today is National Hug & High-Five Day. I encourage everyone to share as many of both of these as you can!
I want to talk about food today, because this week I’ve been having challenges in that area, and I’m frustrated. Am I ever going to master myself and my eating? I do a lot of good things for myself with eating and exercising, but I stumble plenty too.
What are your stumbling blocks about eating? One of mine is failing to plan, or not planning well enough. For example, last night we were scheduled to make pasta with meat sauce. We make our menus in advance, and I’d saved up my points for the pasta. But nobody remembered to take the meat out of the freezer (lack of planning). Ordinarily, I would finish working for the day at 4 p.m., and I would have had enough time to zip over to the kosher butcher (or have DH go), or there was enough time before dinner to think of something else. But I had to work until after 5 p.m. to finish a project that was due, plus a friend texted to ask if she could come pick up some stuff she left here. She didn’t get here until after 7 p.m., and by then we were starving, so we went to a local restaurant, and I overate. Then I shared a piece of (very pointy) coconut cream pie with DH. So I wrecked my eating plan. Ugh! I really need DH to step up and take charge of more of the meal stuff.
What food issues are you battling these days, if any?

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: My main food related issue is that my endocrinologist is trying to get BC/BS to make an exception for me so I can get weight-loss meds, without paying a fortune.
As for food in general, I am not losing weight but feel that I am eating healthily. It's weird.

I hear you. I'm sticking with IF bu tpacking the food in during my eating hours. I haven't been posting my food,or inconsistenly so I don'treally know how much I ate. Often I graze. A handful of almonds and a couple of dates - well those are healthy but pointy! And then I will do it again, and maybe again. Trying to get myself straight. Have been afraid to get on the scale.
