Good morning all,
Lynn, I'm so sorry to read about your nephew on the morning thread. Wishing you peace.
My good news is that our insurance will cover the cost of a new roof! They came yesterday and looked at it and said it definitely has some damage from Hurricane Helene. They won't cover the full cost of a metal roof, so we will pay the difference since that's what we want.
Today DH will take me to get my Covid and flu vaccines. I want to get them done before my trip to South Florida and before the change-over in the administration. I'll be so ready to drive myself, but DH is adamant that it's not safe for me to drive.

Good morning. We are anticipating a phone call from our other nephew at some point in the near future. K has been sick for a few years. He had a steep decline this summer and then seemed to rally. It’s a sad day here for sure. maryenne, that is good news about the roof! Good idea to get the vaccines before traveling, too. I have a podiatrist appointment this afternoon. Lynn, I gather from what I am reading here that your nephew has passed away. I am so very sorry about this, and I'm sending my prayers for comfort for your entire family. I believe I remember your mentioning when you went to visit with your sister-in-law that your nephew was very ill.
Maryenne, that is good news about the roof and also I agree a good idea to get the vaccines now before you fly and also before the administration changes. I'm very concerned about the changes we may see in healthcare as well as pretty much every aspect of our lives. I'm grateful my grandchildren are old enough to have had all the childhood vaccines already.
Esther, I hope all is going well for you and your family.
It's much cooler here, and nothing eventful going on. It's just a typical day. Our lawn guy is here doing the fall trimming of everything to get ready for winter.

Joyce, we were notified this morning that he is in the hospital and unresponsive. He is on comfort care in the hospital. We expect that he will pass soon. This is my sister in law’s older son. He is only 56.
