Good morning-
BETH-sorry you are sick again. hope you are feeling better. CATHY-enjoy your Stay-cation. glad you had a nice lunch. Has the rain slowed down? LIBBY-hope Lucy is doing better BARB-did you stay up to the end of the Oscars? I didn't but saw the flub at the end on the news. Looks like it was Price Waterhouse that messed up. But the stars seemed very gracious. AMY-how was your lesson? DUTCH-hope you are all better.
Waving to all. Lunch today with my friend who was my riding buddy. HAGD

Good Morning!
Faye-how was lunch with riding buddy? Does she still ride?
Dutch- Recently I have enjoyed on line watching of competitive trail, I am sure she will reveal her talents as she goes.
Cathy- So glad you got over the mountain! Hope you get some good swimming weather.
Barb- sorry about the show. I hope you at least enjoyed the music. Your shamrock plates are super cute.
Beth- feel better soon! 2017 has had a bit of a rough start for you.
Libby- What's new with the new kitchen?
DD1 did not get into her Irish Dance Teacher certification test, too many applicants. They will keep her application so she will be more likely to get in next time. They are changing the qualifications that you need to be able to even take the test and this was the last one in the U.S. under the old rules. She has been on the ball and has completed most of the requirements for the new rules so she should be able to finish up the new requirements in time with no real problem. The new requirements take about 2 years to complete but she saw this coming and started taking the 12 exams required about 2 years ago. There is a certain amount of time that must elapse between each exam so anyone who has not started will not be able to apply next time for the teaching exams so there should be space.
Well, I have to go to work (boo). The sudden big change in the weather made Lukas a little crazy yesterday but hopefully spring is here soon.

Good Morning- Amy - sorry about DD1- who knew this was such a competitive sport? Hope Lukas gets over his crazyies (lunge she said!)
Faye- we stayed up (ok - I did doze here & there) so when LaLa Land was announced we headed up to bed -figured who needs to see all the thank yous? When I got upstairs I put the TV on for noise while we were getting ready & just say that the Moonlight folks were up so I thought maybe they had a tie? Only when I put my radio on (I sleep w/a radio/earbuds listening to talk radio -long story) did I hear what happened!
Off to Y then to talk w/ a woman who is opening a "pop up" shop in a large mall -thinking of putting some work in there -then barn to ride -didn't ride yesterday too cold/windy.
Hope Beth & Dutch are on the mend - waving to Cathy & ibby

AMY-lunch is today. she still rides (well, walks) but not often. our trainer moved to a barn that's more competitive (sounds like yours, they go to Florida in the winter) and further away so she doesn't go as often. I would have stopped going once she moved, too far for me. sorry about DD1-she's had a rough time lately. wish it got easier for her. When will the next text be? wasnt' the one she was going to take in Sept?
BARB-have a good ride. hope the pop up store works out.
waving to all. HAGD

Hi horse lovers, Lucy is a tad bit better, not as swollen. Rode Rosie yesterday bareback, walk trot and canter. It was fun. Katy was there and rode her a little also. I don't like that Rosie is turned out with the other horses there. She gets picked on and chased being the new horse. I don't want her getting hurt trying to get away from them. Talked to Heidi about it and reminded her it was my main concern before I brought her up there. She is working on fencing off a paddock for her. One acre is pretty small when you get 6 horses on it (the pasture). Dh leaves back to Mesa today. I'm working my second job this morning, and would you believe it, I'm going to the prison tomorrow (for the last time lol). Then Wednesday, I'm having lunch with the new manager (the position I used to have) to turn in my computer and badge-- so, at my old boss's going away party last Friday, she told me another agency is looking for a PT nurse and she gave them my name. I decided already to turn it down if they call me The kitchen cabinets will be here March 22nd! Wow, I ordered them originally December 15th. Really disappointing wait time. Beth I hope your feeling better! Wave to all! HAGD

Good morning. It's raining here. A good soaking type of rain. Last night I took a big dose of cough medicine before I went to bed and I didn't cough all night. Maybe it was an allergy or something that got to me yesterday. I don't know. Today I'm fine.

Hi, all! Faye, have a nice lunch...or you're probably eating as I type this Barb, I know right? I watched the Oscars, got to the end and kind of zoned out but Warren Beatty looked so...confused? Glad it actually wasn't his fault. Beth, glad it was just a funky day and not a recurrence of the cough. I suppose you're not walking yet? Amy, that's really unfortunate for DD1. That can really frustrate a person and they can loose focus. Hope she continues moving ahead and gets to the next "enrollment" or whatever they call it. When will that be? Libby, wow...your cabinets are like my fences...I think I accepted my quote back in the fall...and my fence goes in on March 22nd!!! I hope Heidi can find some space for Rosie; it's tough being the new kid on the block. Hi, Dutch! So yesterday was marketing and cleaning, didn't get out for a walk or anything. Spent an hour just cleaning my work/business keyboard. The cat hair that came out of it was amazing...I think she must be sleeping on the keyboard when I'm not there? It did rain a bit last night but not bad. It looks like we at least have the week off so that's nice. Will hike w/a friend on Wed, rest of the week is pretty much ad hoc. Today is swimming and harp lesson I have a to-do list. It's quite short, but wonder if I'll actually get anything done? Cathy

Hi all! Sounds like some fun weekends! My best friend sold her horse last week and he shipped up to WA state. He had a chronic suspencory injury. He's off to a better (for him) home now.
So today I mailed off 2 letters - to Ally's stallion and dam owners. I'm curious of their history, height, etc. See if they answer me! lol
Successful wishes for AMY DD1!

Beth- a "pop UP" is just a shop in a store - but it's only on weekends -and the mall has only guaranteed her a spot until October -unless someone offers them more money! She can probably keep the spot after Oct as long as no one else wants it (again - for more money!) I did decide to go in for April (the shop opens next weekend & it would be too hectic to try to get in for March) Not crazy about the spot -it's glass enclosed BUT right at check out -then in May if a better spot opens up I can have it. Since i have no shows figured give it a shot.
Did ride today -we did a short loop- where there was still snow on the back part it was soft and the main trail was mainly clear. Will go out again tomorrow weather permitting. Good night all

Good morning, Tuesday
CATHY-hope you get stuff done and have fun as well. how was the lesson? did it take as long to set up? LIBBY-how long will it take to make a separate area for Rosie? How's Lucy doing? Sorry the cabinets are taking so long. DUTCH-hope you get the info on Ally. BETH-lots of pop up stores in NY. they come, they go. AMY-how's it going? how are the canter departs?
Had a nice lunch with friend. she still rides but basically just walks but enjoys it. need to get my door shaved down because of the new carpet and trying to get a contractor. one said he forwarded my info to his handyman so hope I hear soon. There should be a reality show on getting a contractor to call you back. the work is the easy part! noticed a section of bark stripped off my Japanese maple so called the tree people. hope the tree is ok. it's right at the base of the tree.

Good afternoon. Just finished putting my monthly grocery shopping up. It's humid and sticky here today. We're expecting storms tomorrow.
Well I think I have figured out what my lingering cough is. Last night I noticed some splotches on my face and I decided to check the side effects of my medicines. Turns out my cholesterol med Zetia has cough, runny nose/cold symptoms and headaches as side effects. I have been complaining to DH about all of these effects. I will talk to my dr about these symptoms the next time I go to see her.

Hi- Beth - I am always envious of you doing your "monthly" grocery shopping! I hate to admit it but I am in the grocery at least 2x a week. Glad you figured out your coughing thing. HOpefully they can find you something else to take?
We had a lovely ride -went alone -there is one stretch that is all clear so we even got a short trotting in. We were out about 45 minutes & Penny was hot when we got back. I figure a little bit each day (that I can ) to bring her back into shape.
Faye - glad you had a nice lunch -just walking is perfectly fine! Yes trying to get contractors in can be a project in itself! Good luck!
I found out today that my cuisinart blade that is on recall -that I put a claim in for replacement on 12/13/16 is not expected to be replaced until JUNE! I was livid on the phone & sent an email to cuisinart (not that I expect any repsonse -but it made me feel better) My blade actually has the crack in the metal that is the issue.
Having dinner with DS's in-laws tonight -we do that a few times a year -Bahama Breeze does 1/2 price appetizers so we go & order a bunch!
Waving to all - HAGE

Hi, all! Faye, glad you had a nice lunch with friend. And yes, getting contractors to call is like pulling teeth. It can be so frustrating! Good luck, and hope the tree is OK! Beth, you should call doc pretty soon. Side effects are nothing to sneeze at (kind a pun intended). Hope a change will fix the cough. BP meds do the same thing. I was taking an allergy med a long time ago and could not stop stuffing my face; saw that appetites were stimulated with the med. Needless to say, I nixed that one Barb, bummer about the Quisine art blade...that's frustrating! But glad you gtoin a ride! Dutch, wheee...hope you get some interesting info on Ally's parents! Hi to Libby and Amy! So, it's been over 2 weeks since the water leak and no calls, even though I tried to call the claims adjuster. Just called again and was forwarded to their general claims group. Found out she had given the wrong phone # to the inspector. I gave her TWO #'s to use and they continue to use the old number that hasn't been active for 2 years. Go figure. So now I wait again a for the inspector. I noticed mold growing in the dry wall below where the leak was so either the leak is still active, or it was wet behind the drywall and is only now showing itself. Sigh... Ran some errands today, then did a bit of gardening under the front stairs. I have a lock box for the house key and with all the mud, it was pretty hard to get to so put in some stepping stones and some new plants. The harp lesson went well, except I bought this thing that holds iPads etc and can be clamped to a desk or countertop. Didn't work the way I wanted it to so have to pack it up and send it back. Tomorrow is hiking with a friend! Cathy

RE: side effects... I'm waiting to see the doc for a couple weeks. The flu is hitting this area hard right now and that's where DH and I think we were infected at when we went for our routine blood work and we don't want to be re-infected. If worse comes to worse I can always stop taking that pill until I do see her. Now that I know what it actually is, I'm not so worried about it.

Dinner last night was fun -it's raining here today so guessing no ride -Tundra has her yearly vet visit then will go clean, do groceries. I have a board meeting tonight for my art group.
Dutch -you must be getting close to your trip? How are you feeling? Who will look after Allie while you are gone?
Cathy - glad your harp lesson was good -can't imagine taking an on line music lesson -interesting!
Amy - any riding?
Faye-do you have any gigs coming up?

Hi All,
Let's see if I can post today!
Thunderstorm right now and most of the day. Not sure it is worth trying to ride in the noisy indoor I am trying to rack up some drama free rides. I will wait and see what the day brings. Don't get me wrong, Lukas is a great horse but he just has a different personality. I still really miss my quiet boy Rueben, I think I always will.
In my area there are "Pop Up Shops" that are advertised in social media and usually only last a day or two. For example the local winery had a Lularoe (clothing) pop up shop on a Wednesday evening. They had two Lularoe vendors display their inventory and even set up a temporary dressing room to try things on. I think it was to drive business to the winery on a typically slow night and the vendors benefit as well of course. A few glasses of wine and you are ready to buy a cute dress. LOL. There have also been "pop up shops" in gardens or parks in good weather. The shops are usually retailers that have an on line clientele and it gives customers a chance to shop in person or they are artisans with unique and limited inventory, like Barb. I think they have taken the name "Pop up Shop" from the stores that would pop up in normal retail places but with a short term lease.
Beth- I too think monthly grocery shopping sounds awesome. I need to get that organized as well. Hope you feel better soon and get the meds. sorted out.
Barb- Bahama Breeze is a petty name, hope the meal was enjoyable.
Cathy- sorry about the mold and insurance SNAFU. have a great hike!
Faye- My canter departures are getting pretty solid now and I have way more confidence in picking them up on the correct lead from halt, walk or trot. Considering where I started from ( awkward departures from walk only) I have made great progress. Winter trainer is great at breaking things down into basic parts. First we had to get Lukas to understand new lead cues and once that was done we moved into departures from sitting trot and once those were solid the rest just kind of came along pretty easily. My next challenge is getting him "on the bit" which I have been struggling with but my trainer is sure he can get me to do it. He will probably be breaking it down and giving Lukas and I "homework" between lessons. Trainer has a lot of patience and doesn't look for quick results he looks for correct results. I am going to try to keep having lessons with him over the entire year but I have to train with my main trainer also so it won't be every week with winter trainer. He focuses on different areas then main trainer so the combination will be good. They also get along which is rare with horse trainers but I think it is because they respect each other.
Faye, I hope you can find a good handyman they are great if you can find a good one.
The day is miserable outside but I will go to the workout class at the gym. I hope it is step class today.
HAGD Amy

Hi horse lovers! Lucy is getting better every day The herbal medicine seems to be working great! Amy; that's nice that your trainers are ok with you taking lessons from both of them. I still recall taking a clinic one time and then at my lesson having my instructor get upset about something I learned that she didn't agree with. Sounds like you and Ruben are working things out and learning together! Beth; Hope that your not getting sick again! Cathy; like that you were able to do some gardening! My rose garden needs some serious help! With all the rain and cold I haven't been out there. Sorry that you are not getting responses from the insurance company-that must be frustrating Faye; they had to shave my door down when they put in the new flooring. Now I have a gap that gets cold air in when the screen door isn't shut. I think I need one of the sweeper type rubber thingy's put on. Hope someone calls you soon to get that done! Wave to Barb and dutch I've gained some weight! so upset with myself. I ate like crazy when I was in AZ and I'm paying for it! Hope I can start dropping it fast! DH spent the first night in the new Park Model last night. It is completely furnished. His sister and dbil are staying in the trailer (they've been there for a couple weeks). He said the bed is pretty firm - I like soft beds so I'll have to figure something out. He sent me photo's of the dishware - it's cute daisy's and wheat, kind of 70's retro though, I guess I'll get used to it lol HAGD everyone!

I wasn't going to say this here, but it's a good reminder for all of us how are around these big lovable beasts. I'll say - I'm FINE... Yesterday I want to feed Ally, everything like normal. Weather was calm - overall environment calm. I always leave the shelter door wide open and feed the grain in the front and hay in the back, making her follow me. I put the hay down and go to the front corner. I put treats in bucket, she starts munching as I open the supplement bucket. She spooks and jumps into me, bounces me into the wall, I guess I lose my balance and I fall somehow backwards and right into the open door way... she's near the back and bolts right over me and out. I do NOT think she stepped on me. Not sure what make the marks on my legs (2 on right near ankle and on upper thigh on left), and I have a nice egg on my head from the metal on the shelter (corner post). She stayed out. No clue what spooked her, I heard nothing and clearly it was from behind the shelter. I finished putting supplements in bucket, put her in her stall and locker her up for about 30 min. I figure, time for her to start getting used to being locked up again. Again.. I'm FINE (except my ego!). Any words of advise...?

Dutch - scary - but glad you are ok!
Beth - we ordered about 6 appetizers, wings, shrimp, a crab thing, more wings (!), spinach dip -all very WW friendly (NOT) but hey -you have to live a little!
I did get out after all this afternoon -it was just too nice- we did a bit more than before -again every day more & more ice melts away. there were a few icy spots we could walk around or her borium shoes helped! She was a little jiggy in the spots where we would normally trot or canter but not today. We were out for just about an hour & she was wet under saddle & between her legs.

DUTCH-so glad you are ok. if you have any Headaches or nausea make sure you get it checked right away. That said I was at the end of a lesson and Dorito spooked and I ended up with a broken hip and wrist. No way to tell what did it, and that's the same for you. I didn't own a horse but I will say I kept my helmet on from the time I took Dorito out of the stall until I was back in the car. Other than that I just repeat that I'm glad you are ok.
LIBBY-glad Lucy is better. CATHY-years ago I had a closet that got water from ice dams on the roof. Had to chlorox the beams and air it out for a while before the carpenter could work on it. there are companies that deal with mold. maybe the management people know of a place? good luck
AMY-glad you like the winter trainer and may continue with him. BARB-glad you enjoyed dinner. I have a gig March 15 and 17th for St. Patrick's day
Contractor is here now doing the door. Nice guy. hooray.
waving to all. HAGD oh, and a tree snapped in the storm last week so needs to be trimmed $$ in my future!
