Hi CJ: It's a beautiful day out here so far - with the sun shining and getting up to 50. Last night was pretty cold though, and lots of snow has fallen in the mountain areas - so very much needed.
Our son and DDIL got through the night a day ago, without power, except for battery hookups for their fridge & freezer. It finally came back on in the early morning. No apparent reason except for equipment failure.
Yesterday, we worked on finishing up our income tax return and I had to come up with some figures for our medical and RX insurance premiums. So, I mostly caught up with household accounts.
We enjoyed the salmon for another meal last night and for today's lunch.
Our cleaning crew today is just one woman - so she's here for the full 4 hours, since her sister was unable to come to help her. But she said she was happy because she didn't have to drive the school bus due to "winter break."
I'm in my office where I had my breakfast and I'm reading.
Hope you got to work on your quilting project(s). And that the house sale is proceeding to your liking.

Hi busybee - I'm glad you had some nice weather yesterday, hope this weekend is nice too. After all the hype from the weather forecasters about snow here last night, we didn't get any I'm sure your son is happy the power is back on. Sounds like you are busy with things again, there's always something to be done, isn't there? I haven't done a thing today except sit on the computer I did do some research on a few things involving my home sale though. I'm just not feeling like working on any quilting right now. Take care

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. It's still a bit chilly here, but sunny. I haven't felt much like quilting for several days. I think it's because I'm just not that interested in finishing the quilt tops for those blocks I did in 2023 (for quilt alongs). Since I have the sashing and border fabric cut for one of them, I will try to finish it. The others might just have to wait. I've been wanting to try out a Snail's Trail block so I cut the fabric for that today and I'm hoping to sew it up later. I need to find another project that interests me - maybe one of the kits I have - and hopefully I can get back into quilting. I think moving really messed up my daily schedule. I miss doing some quilting each morning like I used to, but I haven't been able to get back on that schedule in this rental house. Hope you find some time to do some quilting too. Take care

Hi CJ: Cloudy here - no rain - in the high 40s - better weather and higher temperatures are coming this next week. For right now, it's just another typical day out here. No excitement of any kind - which is a good thing.
Yesterday was our day to spend with Apple on the phone. First, DH called them and he reached a real live technician on the phone with a problem we've had when we (I) renewed our AppleTV subscription. Because DH hadn't sign in (on the TV) with my PW and email, they denied him entry. So, finally, after I also got on the phone, gave them my information and they instructed us to use the same info when signing in, problem was solved. I was the original subscriber and when I had to change the credit card number, I was signing in as a "new" subscriber - though I wasn't, just a new CC. The Tech understood the situation and though, it took time - we now have access for both of us on 2 different TVs, same subscription. The Apple Tech was kind, patient, and solved the problem. Yay!
No quilting here either - but today I'm ready to begin once again. I've already done my Sunday chores for trash pickup tomorrow. And I still have leftovers for dinner. So, I have more time than usual to spend on my Magic quilt.
I did have another troublesome texting chat with my DD yesterday too - and that really threw me for a loop. And it was over a stupid issue - I didn't want to read a book which she was highly recommending to me. And she wouldn't leave me alone over it. It was Barbra Streisand's biography - and since I've never been a big fan of hers, her life story didn't really interest me. I've read about her through the years and know enough already. But my DD was absolutely fanatical about how wonderful her story is - breaking the glass ceiling for women of her time, etc... And the descriptions of the era that Streisand lived through. (Since Streisand is just 4 years younger than I am, I told DD that I too lived through the same era.) I suggested that DD read Judge Ruth Bader Ginsberg's biography - that is the kind of reading I like to do. I'm not "into" celebrities these days. She also drug up "old stuff" which was totally irrelevant. Wish I could just NOT engage with her when she's pushing something that doesn't interest me - AT ALL.
Understandable that it's hard for you to get back into your same quilting schedule since you've had so many changes with your move. You'll find your groove once again when everything is settled once again.
Stay well and hope you can once again find an interesting quilt project to work on.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. It's chilly but sunny here today. I'm glad you were able to get the issue with Apple worked out, sounds like they have good customer service. Sorry that you had a problem with your DD again, and hopefully it will just pass over. Sometimes those adult child/parent relationships can be difficult. I was able to finish one Snail's Trail block yesterday and I like how it turned out, so I cut the pieces for three more blocks and hope to get those made this week. I only used two fabrics - a red and a white, so it would be fun to make red and white quilt. This morning I cut the fabrics for last week's Moda Blockheads block and I finished making that. I want to try to keep up with those blocks. I need to get caught up on my Temperature quilt blocks too. Hope you can get back to your quilt too. Take care

Hi CJ: We had some of the same weather today - cloudy/overcast - in the high 40s - hint of a sunset now. But no rain. We'll get some rain on the next 2 days - and then, sunshine is expected over Fri and Sat - rain comes back on Sunday.
I've been working on my big strip set blocks. Got them all squared up and I'm sewing them together now, each going opposite directions. Then, they'll be ready for cutting apart for the design blocks. And then - I'll start putting them together on the dining room table to see what I have and what I still need. Hooray! Lots of progress.
I usually do the squaring up of these big 14-1/2" blocks while seated. It takes more time, so today I decided to get it done faster by cutting at the cutting table. But then, it was my back that really ached by the time I squared up 6 of them.
But now, I'll be able to finish up sewing them and cutting apart - so I can begin the setting of the design squares.
So glad to hear you're progressing on cutting out and sewing blocks for a couple of different projects. The red and white Snail's Trail blocks sound so cute. They'll make a cute quilt for sure.
I had some trouble sleeping last night and I'm tired now. Troubles with my DD are ongoing. Up and down it goes with her. And I keep forgetting that I can't really talk to her like I would a friend. I'm making chicken cacciatore using thighs for dinner tonight. It's time to get that put together and into the oven.
We have a glimmer of a sunset on the horizon. But I feel chilly - as the temps go down with the sun.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. It's sunny here, but still in the 40s, so a bit cool. I'm happy to hear you have made so much progress on your quilt, hope that continues. Also hope you slept better last night. My sleep is hit and miss these days, I miss when I used to sleep well and feel rested when I woke up. I had to go out today for an appointment and also I went up to my house to check on things, which were alright. I did have to sweep up glass from a liquor bottle thrown in the driveway. Dealing with all the trash in the driveway and yard is something I won't miss doing once the house is sold. I haven't done any quilting today, maybe I'll try to start on the other snail's trail blocks later. I'm only going to make 4 right now and see if I like them together before I make anything larger. Take care

Hi busybee - I'm not sure if you check out the posts in the "General Discussion" area very often but I see someone is taking a trip to Crotia in September and asked for tips. I thought you might have some, or would like to read the thread.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well and having nice weather. We have another sunny day here with temps in the 40s. It's been a pretty nice winter. I finished making 4 of the Snail's Trail quilt blocks today and I've laid them out two ways to decide which one I like the best. I don't think I'll make any more than this. I'll have a 24x24 table topper with this. It was an easy block to make and I was able to chain piece a lot of it which went quicker. I would maybe consider making another table topper in different colors. I just need to decide on my layout for the table topper, I'll add some pictures of my options The new Moda Blockheads block came out today so I hope I can get the fabric cut for that in the next few days and then get it done. This one has a lot of parts. modafabrics.com/inspiration-resources/bh5-group-2-block-8-crystal-manningI'll also add a picture of my Moda Blockheads blocks up to last week. Take care

Hi CJ: Well, you haven't lost your "golden touch" in piecing together beautiful quilt blocks. I just love the blocks you posted - the colors and designs go perfectly together - real keepers! So glad that you're quilting once again - and that you don't have to worry about your old house so much any more.
Weather is about the same here - but we did have some rain - some clearing on the western horizon now - in the high 40s.
I've got the magic quilt pieces laid out on the dining room table - or rather - I've started to lay them out. I have enough blocks to make a much larger quilt than I planned. I may use them on the back side of the quilt. We'll see. Anyway, I'll keep working at it until I'm satisfied at the layout. Then, I've got to start on appliquéing the lotus flower emblem for the middle square of the quilt. (Woe is me! Not looking forward to that.)
I love the Moda blockhead block at the link you posted. Boy - it sure does have a lot of parts. Hope you can copy the fabrics - just love how it looks in those colors. (Goes along with the other blocks you've posted - the red, white, and blue theme.)
On to my quilting project - and somehow widening the dining room table to make more room for the blocks. I DO NOT want to go downstairs to the pool table.
Stay well and keep up your quilting projects.

Hi CJ: the sun is shining today - though lots of fluffy clouds are also floating around. But it's 56 degrees so far.
I have a big grocery order to pick up today - so that will keep me busy for quite a while.
Yesterday, DH and I worked long and hard to configure the cardboard pieces over the dining room table so I can use it for my quilt "design wall" for now and then for pin-basting the finished quilt later. We opened up the already long table to put in another leaf to extend it to its farthest limit. Then, DH brought up piece after piece of stable cardboard, that we had used on the pool table for DD's quilt, for placing on top of the extended table. Right now, I have a new plastic tablecloth, turned over, I'm using temporarily for moving around the blocks. But I'll probably be switching to batting - as the tablecloth does not begin to cover the whole area. I've decided that the completed quilt will be a twin size - about 72 x 90-/+. That should cover my son's body as a lap quilt or a sofa quilt. They have a king sized bed, so it would never be used on their bed (I don't think.)
Anyway, my work is cut out for me - for sure. Makes me tired just thinking about it - let alone actually "doing" it.
I've also ordered more black fabric as the end of the black fabric I'm using is the Kona cotton and it's too "ravelly." I'm trying Moda this time. And I've also ordered a few more pieces of batik fabric to try out as a background for the center lotus appliquéd piece. I don't like the pieces I've got or even the piece that DS picked out. (He wouldn't like it either if he saw it with the blocks placed around it.)
Hope all is well and that you can get some more blocks done.

Hi busybee - Glad to hear you are having such nice weather today. It was a bit cloudy here today and we're supposed to get rain tomorrow and temps in the 40s over the weekend. That sure is a lot of work to get your setup to layout the quilt, and then you have to lay out the quilt! I hope you can make progress on that. I think they size you have chosen is really nice as a lap quilt for a man. I'm reading more and more quilters saying they are just making lap quilts as gifts rather than bed quilts since people don't always use them and they are more work. I'm not sure which layout I'll use for the Snail's Trail block, I have to think about it a little bit since I like both of them. This morning I was able to get my Temperature quilt up to date, only another week and February will be over. I also started working on the sashing for the Moda Blockheads blocks from last year (one set of them at least) and I hope to get that done in the next few days. I still have two other sets of those blocks to do something with. I have not heard from the house buying place for about a week, so I left a voicemail with my point of contact (still haven't heard back from him) and sent an email to the original person I worked with for the contract (still waiting to hear from her). If they do offer a lower price I can walk away from this contract, so that's why I'm interested to hear if they are going to lower the price. Hopefully I'll hear something from someone tomorrow. Take care

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today and the weather is alright. It was raining here earlier and now it's getting colder for the weekend. I went out earlier to run some errands so I didn't do any quilting today. I've been enjoying watching some DVDs I have of the Great British Baking Show. It's such an enjoyable show to watch. I didn't hear from either of the people from the house buying company, it's very frustrating. I've called and emailed them and they just don't respond at all. There's not much I can do until I hear back from them. I'd just like to know if I'm moving forward with them, or if I have to start over with another company. I'm still surprised at how bad customer service has gotten over the last several years. I couldn't imagine not returning an email or phone call when I was still working, it was just expected as part of your job. I've had so many experiences over the last few years of businesses not responding - one of them was a lawyer's office!.I have to believe they really don't care whether they get your business or not. Sorry for the rant, I'm just frustrated Take care and have a good weekend

Hi CJ: Weather here is changing again - cooling down considerably - with rain in the lowlands - and lots of much-needed snow in the mountains and in the higher elevations. We'll look for a rain and snow mix here - and our son and DIL will definitely get snow at their higher location. This will begin tonight and continue in earnest through Tuesday. So, we're not finished with winter out here just yet. We're actually thankful for the more wintry weather - as we're still not caught up with our more usual snow pack percentages.
I'm so sorry that you still haven't heard from the house-buying outfit. How very annoying - and you're rightfully upset by their inability to keep you informed - or answer your queries. Maybe the delay in responses these days is because so much more business is being done these days on-line, or by text and/or phone. My DD worked customer service for Costco, and sometimes the backup was hours long. And this situation was often because they were under-staffed or the new staff had not been properly trained or they just weren't ready for complex calls. They had a quota to fill each day, and if a phone Rep. couldn't' keep up, they were let go. But then, where would they get new personnel to replace them? Quite a problem for the company too! No excuse, however, for no response from a company with whom you've already initiated contact!
Don't worry about your "rant." I've had plenty of my own too. And, by the way, I too loved "The Great British Baking Show," especially when Mary Berry was one of the judges. I've enjoyed watching a couple of Mary Berry cooking specials.
Yesterday, I went to my last of 3 PT appointments. She added a couple of standing exercises - and told me to keep up with all the others, including my lap walking. She explained that Medicare covers just 90 days of PT for short term problems. If I need more help, after 90 days or so, to call her back and she'd start the process all over. I have made progress, though. I can walk laps now without being out of breath, and the exercises are strengthening my muscles and helping me to stay more active than I had been.
Today, our YDS stopped.by for a visit - AND - a quilt consultation. He also helped to give me more room around the table set-up by moving the cat's climbing tower out of the way to another spot in the LR - so that I can more easily get all around the table set-up. I showed him the new fabric I ordered and he loved it. We discussed how to place the center appliquéd block and the colors. So glad he stopped by so I wasn't working "in the dark," and I know now how to proceed.
I have leftovers for dinner - so no major cooking today. I'll make a nice salad with orange and avocado.
Enjoy your projects and hope you'll soon hear from the house-buying outfit.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. We're having a nice sunny here but temps are only in the 40s. The coming week is bringing 60 degree weather! I'm glad your YDS was able to consult with you and the quilt so now you know how to proceed I'm determined to finish that quilt top today using those Moda Blockheads blocks from last year. I haven't liked working with these fabrics from the start. They are pretty and a nice fabric, but I just didn't enjoy putting them together - I think it was the mixture of colors. This was a fat quarter bundle and I'm really trying to never buy any of those again. I do have one still that I haven't used. I'd like to move on to a fun project. Half the time I don't even feel like quilting anymore, but I know that is mostly due to the upheaval in my life since November. I'm anxious to get the house sale behind me so I can have a few calm months before I have to think about where I might move next, or to see if I can stay in this rental house for awhile. Take care and have a good day

Hi CJ: The colder weather moved in last night and our temperatures went into the lower 30s overnight. We had sleety rain but no snow. Today, it's calmer, with cloudy skies but dry so far. It will get into the 30s again overnight and we might get some snow mix but no accumulation at the lower elevations. Our son and DDIL did get snow with some accumulation and temps dropping into the high 20s. Son is WFH today - though DDIL said the main roads are clear. However, the neighborhood roads are slushy and slippery.
I haven't worked on the magic quilt yet today. I'm waiting for my new fabric to arrive, and I know that it will be delivered for sure by tomorrow. Our cleaners come on Thursday this week so I have to straighten up the LR so they can get around to at least vacuum.
I'm keeping up with my indoor lap walking and the additional Xs from a standing position that the PT gave me. I'm to do those in addition to the chair Xs.
Today, I'm catching up with bill-paying and a trip to the PO coming up.
Sorry to hear that you're still reluctant to do much sewing/quilting these days. But it is understandable that you'd feel this way with all the big changes you've made. Just proceed one step at a time - that's all any of us can do.
Take care of yourself and keep up the good work you've always prided yourself on.

Hi busybee - I'm glad to hear your are doing well and that your physical therapy exercises are hopefully helping you. The weather here was very mild today and is supposed to be that way the whole week. I think that's probably the last of any cold weather for my area this winter, but you never know with weather. I finished the Moda Blockheads top yesterday and was so happy to be done with it. It looks "alright" but definitely not one of my favorite quilt tops I've made. I still have a bunch of the fabric and I think I'm just going to cut them into 5 inch squares (maybe some in 2.5 inches too) and put them together for a quilt top. I've put that fabric away for right now since I want to get the Moda Blockheads weekly block done by tomorrow. I have the fabric out for that I just need to cut all the pieces. Each of these blocks have so many pieces! I was shocked to hear from the house buying company late this afternoon with the inspection results and their new "lower" offer. I wasn't surprised, so I'm prepared to drop them and move onto the next company. I'd like to have been done with the house sale, but there's no way I can accept their low price. Thanks always for your support. I hope once my house is sold and I can get more into a schedule living in the rental house that I'll feel more like quilting again. I had such a good system at my house but I haven't been able to get one going at this new place. Take care

Hi CJ: We had an interesting "weather" day yesterday - lots of snow flakes fluttering down - but not much sticking here at our elevation. Other places in the PacNW corridor did get snow coverage - but it was all short lived, depending on the location. However, the mountains did get the snow we need and that's very good news. Up at our son's place, he had to WFH because their side roads were slushy and slippery. And their snowfall continued through the day and night. Today, it's calm at our home - cloudy - just drizzly rain. But the snowfall continues in the higher elevations. So Winter continues to give us cold temps and icy skies. (It was 32 when I went to bed and it's at 40 right now, mid-afternoon.)
So sorry to hear that the house-buying company made you wait so long to deliver an impossibly low price. At least, now you can proceed again - and you have that experience to help guide you. So very frustrating, I'm sure! No surprise that it's so hard to settle down into your former quilting routine. You just have too much on your plate right now. Such a hard time for you. Just do as much as you're comfortable with - and just keep looking forward to the light ahead. It's there - and you will reach it.
I received all the fabrics I ordered - including 2 yards of Moda black - which is less ravelly than the Kona I've still got on hand. Now, I'll wash the new fabric and get it ready for cutting.
Yesterday, I used some frozen cod fish pieces I've had for a while to try a new preparation - and it worked very well. I first made a melange of tomato, red pepper, onion, garlic and added it to a shallow baking dish with olive oil - cooked it in the oven for a half hour until it was carmelized - I added some water to loosen it up and some balsamic vinegar and lemon juice. Then, I added the frozen cod pieces and finished cooking it all together for another half hour. The cod was moist and flaky and the tomato mixture added flavor and moisture. Even my DH liked it - and we have some leftover for tonight. Yay!
I'll get busy with my fabric and play with the blocks on the design board in the dining room today.
Hope you'll soon find another company to help you sell your old house. One day at a time........

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today and the weather is nice. It's still in the 60s here but we had rain today, tomorrow is supposed to only be in the 40s! Your cod dish sounds very nice, I'm glad you and your DH enjoyed it and you have leftovers. I bought some frozen cod pieces at the store this week, so that is a coincidence for us I got the fabric cut for last week's Moda Blockheads block. The new block pattern for this week came out today, so I think I'll try to get those fabrics cut and then I can make both blocks at the same time. The house company is still negotiating with me on a price. I told them what I'd accept so if they aren't going to match that then they need to void my contract, and quit stringing me along. I want to move onto the next company. I went up to my house today and everything was alright there. I knew this wouldn't be easy, but I didn't think it would take this long, the process for this company is very frustrating. Take care

Hi CJ: Just buckets and torrents of rain out here - battering our homes and trees. Not too cold though, getting up to 50, but heading downward into the 40s in late afternoon. Flood warnings are being posted for the low lands.
Today, I worked on a temporary mockup design of the center block for the Magic quilt. And I've sent a photo of it to my son and my DH came to look at it. DH liked it, and we discussed the final colors for the block. I don't think I'll really be able to decide on that until I have all the blocks placed in their final positions and color ways. My method was to cut out the petals of a Lotus flower from a mottled black and white fabric I have, and I placed them on top of background fabric which I had put together as very wide strips of the delectable mountain block. That way, I brought in 2 background colors. I'm pleased with my work - but have no idea what DS will think. The weather must be just terrible up where they live and don't even know if they have power.
Interesting that you're still dithering with the house company on price. Makes me wish that you had an attorney to give you advice or to do the negotiating for you. But it sounds like you're not going to budge - and I'm with you on that. Your old house is situated on a large corner lot - the land itself is the most valuable part of the package. It could be used for commercial housing - and the house company knows that very well. So, I wouldn't think of it as just a sale of an old house. It's much more than that.
I'm glad that you're progressing on the Moda blockheads project. I also got the new fabric I had delivered prepared for the washing machine - zigzagging the cut edges together, etc...
I'm putting together a very simple supper tonight of sausage, rice and beans. Maybe I'll put together a salad too. And we're de-cluttering today for the house cleaners tomorrow.
Stay well and keep calm.

Hi busybee - Sorry to hear about the heavy rain, but I hope that you need it. Hope your YDS and DDIL are alright. I'm just amazed at how intricate and creative the quilt you are working on is. I know it will be an heirloom piece when it's done. I have the fabrics cut for both of the Moda Blockheads blocks, so I hope to get them pieced in the next few days. I also have my half square triangles ready to finish piecing the days for the February block of the Temperature quilt. I can't believe there are already two months gone in the year. It's sunny here today, but cold and in the 40s. It's supposed to get milder again tomorrow. Well, I had a big surprise yesterday afternoon. After going back and forth with the house buying company, they agreed on the original price we had set and everything is falling into place for the house sale to go through in March. I couldn't believe it - I was shocked! But I'm glad it came together and I don't have to go through all this with another company. Hopefully everything will work out in March and I can move on from my old house. Take care

Hi CJ: We had another hard rain a while ago, with the downspouts unable to clear the load off the roof. But it's quieted down now, and hopefully, we'll be spared more of the same. It's in the lower 40s so far. Haven't heard from my son yet as to how they fared these last couple of days. It's the end of the month for him so it's his busiest time at work. I'll check with them later.
The Housecleaners came today and did their magic and all is spick & span again. The de-cluttering didn't take much time yesterday - as we're better these days at keeping "stuff" from piling up. And I fixed a quick dinner with sausage, onions, beans in a home-made sauce, added to the leftover rice of the day before. Didn't make a salad. My goal was to keep the kitchen as clean and un-cluttered as possible - and it worked! (I'll make the salad today. We are very good at totally destroying the pristine condition of the kitchen in 1 day!) LOL
Wow! Good news with your house buying company. That's a surprise for sure. Hope it all works out smoothly and without any additional hassle.
My current quilt project is a "special order," so to speak, highlighting my YDS's interest in Magic games and associated paraphernalia. From the first days that we discussed the quilt and to picking out a design, it's pretty much been a "stab in the dark." And hopefully, somehow, it will come together as pleasing to both of us. I'm pretty good with adjusting and changing direction with a quilt project - and actually, I enjoy the challenge. I loved piecing the lotus blossom yesterday with the spontaneous cut-out pieces I devised. That kind of thing really engages me and gives me a lot of satisfaction - and "it's FUN!"
Enjoy your new feeling of getting much closer to the actual sale of your home. Sounds like it's very close now.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today We had some heavy rain here this morning, but it looks like it's over now. The temperatures are going up into the 60s for several days. I'm happy that you enjoy the creativity and challenge of the quilt you are working on. I think making quilts should be fun Hopefully things will go well the next few weeks with my house sale. I've been trying to talk to the liaison person between the buying company and the settlement company but he never responds back to my calls are emails, it's very frustrating. I just have a few questions about the utilities, it would only take 10 minutes of his time! All the emails I get from him say "please contact me with any questions", but how do I do that when he won't respond!! I'll figure it out myself if I need to. Yesterday I finished putting together the February cottage temperature block and joined it to January's block. I like a quilt along like this where I can get a bit done each week. I've also pulled out the fabrics to make my blocks for this month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge. The color this month is purple. I'm hoping I'll get all my blocks done this weekend and maybe next week I can get back to work on the quilt tops for the other two Moda Blockheads groups and the basket blocks that finished in December. Hope you get to work on your quilt too. Take care

Hi CJ: Another mixed-bag of weather out here - with sleety rain and some snow - and into the 30s again. But it would clear periodically too - so we were having flurries here and there. We expect another day like this and into Monday - before we finally get through this stormy weather pattern - and have some clearer skies and no precipitation falling down on us.
I pretty much spent most of the afternoon covered up with a comforter in the LR under the skylights - listening to the pitter-pat of whatever was falling - and reading - with Molly in the chair next to me. I finally finished "The Rose Code," by Kate Quinn. Its story-line involved the Bletchley Park compound in England, the center of code-breaking for the Allies during WWII. The characters in this story are women who worked as Bletchley Code Breakers and were sworn to secrecy about what they were doing. I've seen a TV series about Bletchley, but this is the first story I've read about it. And it's absolutely based on true happenings - just fascinating. I couldn't put it down - reading late at night and finally today, finished it.
So, no sewing today. Yesterday, DD came after work with salmon and a few other items from Costco. We had a great visit for over 2 hours. She doesn't stay for dinner, because she's on an earlier schedule than we are, getting off work at 3:30pm. And she had a take-away meal from her office cafeteria for her dinner - always very good and quite affordable.
We enjoyed the salmon last night and we have more for tonight's dinner.
How annoying that you don't receive a response from the liaison person assigned to your home sale. I'm betting that they are reading your messages, though, but just taking their sweet time to respond.
Glad you're back on a schedule with your quilt projects. Sounds like maybe you're becoming more comfortable with sewing in your new spaces. Don't give up.
Stay well and small steps are better than "no" steps.

Hi busybee - Hope your weather does get better this week. I'm hoping the winter weather is done for my area for this season. That sounds like an interesting book, I'm glad you enjoyed reading it I went up to my house today to meet with some family there. There were a few things left in the house that they wanted to look at and one of my great-nephews took a few pieces of furniture and the other great-nephew took some of my father's tools. I think that is just about it for things that are coming out of the house, maybe just a few more things out of the garage. There has been a leak under the kitchen sink at the old house and I've kept a plastic sheet on the floor and a container filled with paper towels to catch any water. Today when I went there one of the containers was almost full. This is strange since there shouldn't have been any water run since I was there several days before. The water company has been digging up the old lines on the road in front of my house, so I'm thinking that maybe they did a water cut off and on and maybe that pushed some water through the pipes. Hopefully that was all it was. I'll be going up to the house a few times this week and I'll check on it. If I can just make it a few more weeks, that will be someone else's problem to worry about. I made several of my monthly Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilt blocks this morning before I left, I just have a few more to make. I picked blocks this year that use all of my different scraps. One block uses 2.5 inch squares, one block uses 2.5 inch strips, one block uses fat quarters, and the last block using 5 inch squares. It's nice to use these scraps after I spent that time getting them organized. Hope you get to spend some time on your quilt this week. Take care
