sheila Congratulations n your weight loss! Today I have PT again then I need to pack up and head back out to moms. I'll plan to come back to my home next Wednesday then I'll be turning around again to come down to he house again the following weekend. February will be the toughest month for her as that is Valentines Day, my parents anniversary and an even larger celebration day they called "in-between" day! I'm sure my life can start to settle down after mid February. In the meantime, I have been working on my Resume, trying to get out of some of my moving boxes and starting a blog about my journey to a healthy life. I'm still trying to get it where I want it but it is starting to come together better. I need to get myself together and head out to PT. Hope you all have a great on program day!

Why is it that every day I have an official WI, I feel bloated! We'' see what the scale says today. Came to moms yesterday but had to get here quicker than I expected because I got a message from a friend of my moms who said my mom is in the ER. She seems fine but had some confusion that they are saying was an episode of TGA, trans global amnesia. She seems fine today but I want her to get an appointment today to see the neurologist.

ASL - Good thoughts headed your way about mom. Sounds like neurologist is the right call.

I am sorry to hear about your Mom ASL . I am glad you are there for her. Good job @mountainmolehill ! I need some energy. How sad is it, that when I wake up in the morning, my first thought is how many more hours until I can go back to bed! We leave for Florida on Wednesday. I am hoping being able to spend more time outside will help.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, ASL ! I hope she's feeling better and I'm glad she's going to see a neurologist! Awesome job, @mountainmolehill ! We shall see what tomorrow's WI brings. As per usual I'm down on a Friday (1.3 since Saturday) but Saturday *always* shows a gain from my Friday weight! I went to spin this morning... hoping a workout counterbalances the usual Friday-to-Saturday gain! I should at least get my 15 pound star, if nothing else!

@mountainmolehill, congrats on the continued loss! ASL, I hope all goes well with your mom. I also need some energy. I'm just drained. I've been able to stay on plan but I'm worried about this weekend since I don't want to do anything but rest and for me, that always leads to overeating. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Yay, the scale showed me some love! I'm down 1.2; This is HUGE because I haven't been able to hit or go beyond the 105 down mark and now I'm 105.8 lbs down. Mom update: Neurologist doesn't think this was a TIA or TGA & the tests didn't show a current stroke, SO........ He thinks because she wasn't taking her BP meds regularly and due to her current grief and added stresses, he says what happened is in the scope f "normal". That is both good news & a head scratcher as to how to have her better manage things. UGH. pinotgrigio I was down over 2 lbs on Wed. but always go back up from my Wednesday morning scale number. I hate how it fluctuates. Hope the scale shows you some love tomorrow.

Tonight I made a grilled chicken breast covered in a portobello mushroom with a side of cooked onions & bell peppers. For lunch I had grilled salmon & asparagus and for breakfast I had turkey slices with egg whites, a slice of FF cheese and fresh spinach. I had fresh fruit and then the rest of my points were eaten with multigrain chips :-)
I also went for a walk with mom in the park. This has been a perfect OP day! YAY!

Hello!
I am doing good. Down a pound this morning. So, for the month of January I am down 3 pounds. I KNOW I could have done better, but I will take it. Better than up 3! 2 more sleeps until Florida!

barefootn101 Great job with being down 3 lbs in January. That is still on average above the 1/2 lb that WW looks for. You are so right that it is WAY better then being up 3! I'm wondering if anyone here takes Fish Oil or Krill Oil & Biotin?

I'm wondering if anyone here takes Fish Oil or Krill Oil & Biotin? I did take Fish Oil awhile ago. My cholesterol was elevated because I was nursing (totally normal, but still made me nervous) so I took it to help after I weaned. I took the Nordic Naturals. Not sure if it helped or if my levels went back to normal because I weaned, but my cholesterol levels were back to normal after my next health screening.

Good Thursday morning! I'm home again for a few days then it's back to moms because we are going to go see the show River Dance that is playing near her. I'm excited about it and will be glad to get mom out of the house for something FUN! Mom is understandably having an extremely difficult time but the month of February will be the worst for her because it has 3 HUGE holidays that they cherished and celebrated in big ways. While I was there, I DID increase my own activity by going for a walk with her everyday. As always, I'll be anxious to see what the scale shows on Friday.
Side note on health that I'm adding in case it can benefit someone. My hair has been thinning as I'm becoming older and overtime I am getting rid of weight, I tend to lose a lot more hair. I noticed when I make sure to get my 2 tsp. of olive oil in daily, I lose less hair but my hair now is so thin I can take a pony tail holder and wrap it 3-4 times in order for it to stay in my hair. I've had 2 hairdressers suggest I take Biotin for my hair but the other positive side effect of that will be better nails. Also, My skin tends to be very dry & I use tons of lotions & creams which helps but also I've been at times having some constipation (sorry for the TMI). I know fish oil is supposed to help with cholesterol but I hear it also helps with dry skin and I'm hoping it will help to lubricate my bowel movements. When I compare fish oil & krill oil, it looks like they do the same things but that krill oil has more benefits (plus I hear it isn't stinky. I think I'm going to give them both a try but not sure what to expect in terms of any noticeable results.
I sure do miss hearing from everyone daily but am glad that we all are still OP for the most part and still running our marathon. Remember, this isn't a sprint! Just take one step forward and even if along the way, we take 1/2 a step back, we are still ahead of the game. Then, if we take another step forward, we are back on our way toward a lighter & healthier us. Ilf we don't quit, we don't need to start again. Let's see what happens when we don't quit on ourselves!

I DID increase my own activity by going for a walk with her everyday -- Take it where you can get it! Hi all -- I need ideas for portable-ish snacks that are 3 points or less, and actually a bit filling. 2 points would be ideal, but 3 or less for sure. Any favorites? Besides cheese?

ASL - i have the same dry skin, thinning hair issue as you. I lost a lot of hair postpartum and it is coming back, albeit slowly. However when I was younger (much younger) I had a TON of hair and it's thinned out in the last 10 years (can't even blame kids for that one!). That's really interesting about the fish oil/biotin/krill oil. Please let me know if anything ends up helping! BTW, the Nordic Naturals fish oil is lemony... not fishy at all! So if you do end up trying fish oil, I'd highly recommend that one! @mountainmolehill - i love the Chobani 100 yogurts with the mix-ins (Strawberry Chocolate Truffle, Blueberry Crumble, etc). They're 3 points and amazing! Obviously need to be kept refrigerated so not sure if that meets your "portable" requirement. I also love the WW Cinna-licious Swirl snacks... they're basically rice cakes with a little frosting swirl on them for sweetness. They're 2 points. Unfortunately you can only buy those at meeting locations though (but I think you attend meetings?).

Hi all -- I need ideas for portable-ish snacks that are 3 points or less, and actually a bit filling. 2 points would be ideal, but 3 or less for sure. Any favorites? Besides cheese? I LOVE the Premier Protein Drinks! They are only 2 SP's, 30 grams of protein & 1 gram of sugar. They don't need to be refrigerated but taste better when cold. These hold me over for a good 2-3 hours. For that "crunchy type" of snack, I'll have a WW BBQ chip for 2 SP and/or mini carrots, mini cucumbers or cherub tomatoes. For a creamy & longer lasting sensation of eating something, I will have a Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt for 2 SP's. Another idea that I've had before was Naturals deli turkey or applewood ham slices rolled up (2 oz = 1 SP) and if used with only one slice of FF cheese then no extra points there. I've also used a Hebrew National hotdog 99% or 97% Fat Free (I forget which is their leanest) for only 1 SP each! These can be cut into slices to be snacked upon. Hope those ideas help!

I am thinking of trying the krill oil instead of the fish oil because of the added benefits but that is good to know about the Nordic Naturals.
