Are post #s possible? A number of other forums I read have them and they are super-convenient when directing someone to information that's been covered in a prior post in a multi-page thread. Shaine, as I understand it, it's possible to add this but the numbering is dependent on how many replies are displayed on a page. We have a default number of viewable replies set up on the forum, but users can customize that number. So the reply numbers would be correct using the forum defaults, but if someone customized the number of visible replies, (which a lot of people do) their numbering would be incorrect. I'll do some further searching and see if anyone has built a plug-in or a different work around for this.

OOPS, I Just saw this here & I just posted a suggestion to another section. Sorry! Is it possible to have the most recent posts show up on page one of each thread? Hi Aslin, Proboards has sort plug ins, but they only seem to work on the first page of replies, and starting with page 2 the thread displays oldest to newest as usual. This would get really confusing. HOWEVER: if you use your "Participated" button up there on the right, and you click on the thread marked by "new", it will take you to your first unread post. I think this works for the "new" badges in the main forum too.

Thanks! That does make sense. I was envisioning 125 or more pages down the road. I didn't know what the format allowed.

OK, I tried to change the font size but it removed the comments... so I'll have to research why that is. Stay tuned. I greatly prefer the removal of the comments!

Luda, that baby is just too cute! This leads me to my semi-suggestion that we might stop apologizing for hijacks. I never considered it a big deal at WW. A quick comment here and there will happen since we removed that little comment line (which I agree was the right move). It sometimes makes for the best threads. Just a random thought to up my post count BTW, great job by all of you. Thanks!

I agree with Clapton probably because I hijack most of the time 😊 I also want to up my post count. I'm almost at 50 and I know that's something!

C, are you sure? I don't think users can customize this. Hmmm, I just looked at my own settings and I didn't see it, I could have sworn I did but it might have been admin/forum wide settings. It was referenced as being a problem with reply numbers in the help section thread about adding post # code. The post was a couple years old, so it may well be out of date.

Thanks moderators for handling this. Hopefully you don't get burnt out... I have an idea. Is there a way to denote who the OP is in a thread? So that later throughout the thread it's easy to skim and maybe find the OP's update, if the thread gets long or is multiple pages? I see that the posts alternate white and gray, maybe the OP's posts can always be light blue or something. Sorry if I'm missing the point, but isn't that what the 'Created By' column does now? I mean within a thread after the first post. Some sort of marker or color change associated with the OP so it's clear in longer threads it's the person who started the thread. Just a little thing, not a big deal!

Hi, we're working on if we can implement reply numbering, but there is a different way to achieve the same goal. If you click on the little settings gear at the top right of any post, you can choose "Link to Post" and get a link to either the post by itself, or to the post location in the thread. For sharing posts or directing people to a specific point in a thread the way you'd like to, I think that might work fine.

Once I post, I would like to not have to scroll back up to the top to navigate to another place on the forum.

Vel, there's a grey box to the right of your screen, kind of hovering over the edge of the posts. Click on it and it will take you to the top or bottom of the page, depending upon which direction the arrow is pointing. Becca added it recently.

I was meaning navigating out of a thread and into another section of the forum. I'll grave the area I'm talking about.

Can we make the Thread or Subject Titles bold so it's easier to differentiate them from the rest of the type on the page?

I also hate banners. I am inclined to have it set so that there can be no images in the sig area. What do you guys think?
Re other suggestions:
Vel, that's complicated but doable, so we'll try!
Sarah, I personally think it looks pretty distinct. Others can chime in.
