I also hate banners. I am inclined to have it set so that there can be no images in the sig area. What do you guys think? Re other suggestions: Vel, that's complicated but doable, so we'll try! Sarah, I personally think it looks pretty distinct. Others can chime in. That sounds perfect Becca!

Page up, then clicking on whatever else I want to see has been working fine for me. I also don't see a need for bold font for thread titles. They seem clear enough, even on my phone. No squiggly swirly bullshit, either. Maybe a pass for birthdays.

I noticed someone posted an auto-playing Vine or some such thing in a reply and it was auto-playing whenever I had that page open. If I knew how to disable auto-play on my phone, I'd do that, but there are probably other people who don't know how to do it either. I'm concerned that visiting this site will be a real data hog on my phone if there are auto-play videos. I'd happily take a lesson on how to disable it (Samsung Galaxy S4) but I think it might be better to disable the feature on the board's end?

I am not a fan of auto-play.

From a quick search it seems like this is an issue from the originator side (that is, Vine, YouTube, etc.) and people need to change the settings when they embed them. Or you can shut it off on your phone. Since the actual video isn't on this site (it's just displaying material that lives on another site), there's no setting to change it.

I would prefer that people keep signatures small and not use photos.
Images are awesome, I love seeing photos that are posted ,but not as signatures because you are looking at the same image over and over and over and over.

I'd love to see gifs banned. I can't stand jumping, moving, zagging, frenetic *anything* that is moving around a page. Slow stuff, too . . . anything that moves drives me batshit.

I love gifs. But I will try to refrain from using them. We use a chat agent at work called Slack and there's a way to easily collapse or expand all of the gifs and images within a chat, so you can see them when you want but also get them out of the way when they're too much.

Is it possible to remove threads from the Participated list? Right now, it allows you to mark them as read (or unread), but is there a way to remove them completely if you're just done participating in that thread because you're too cool or have moved on to greener pastures?

I think it's a function of fitting it all into a small screen. But you can click on "Desktop version" and see the whole thing. Is it possible to remove threads from the Participated list? I don't think you can do this either. But what you can do is, bookmark the threads you like using the site's bookmark function and then just use the Bookmarks menu item to see all those threads, and you can add or delete as you like.

Thanks for the heads-up, Becca. I use Chrome half the time and Safari the other half, so I'll try it out on this site over there. SaveSave

I haven't found the feature where I can sort the posts into the two categories: interesting or important to me, or irrelevant to me. I'm sure this is just an administrative oversight, but I'm equally certain you can fix it.

Once I post, I would like to not have to scroll back up to the top to navigate to another place on the forum. Done. It's not possible to have the drop-down when you do a second "navigation tree" but at least you can get back to the main list.

I also feel that way about signatures in general (reading the same thing over and over) but I don't expect them to go away entirely.

Luda, that baby is just too cute! This leads me to my semi-suggestion that we might stop apologizing for hijacks. I never considered it a big deal at WW. A quick comment here and there will happen since we removed that little comment line (which I agree was the right move). It sometimes makes for the best threads. Just a random thought to up my post count BTW, great job by all of you. Thanks! Yeah, "sorry for the hijack" is like "not to change the subject"--no point in saying it.
