Good morning, AMY-glad Lukas will get a new shoe this morning. Glad your friend is back. how are the boots breaking in? I remember I had trouble with mine. BETH-today our weather is warm too, in the 70s and tomorrow even higher but then I think it cools off. BARB-hope you got your matza brittle and brownies done. I didn't even do soup because I'm going out both nights. My cousin sends DD home with some food so I have it easy this year CATHY-glad you didn't have much traffic. good idea of Barb's to try some sample cards at Staples. DUTCH-hope you are feeling better. How's Ally? LIBBY-are you back from AZ and Palm Springs? hope you had fun. good luck with the kitchen yoga was good yesterday. today I just pick up an Edible arrangement for tonight and then DD home by train. then off to the seder. did a little yard work yesterday, picking up branches, put in the hose to water the bulbs coming up. need to find pansies. I usually wait til I see a red robin and know it's spring HAGD everyone. Harp gig this Saturday so busy practicing.

Good Morning-Faye -thanks (again) for the start up! BTW -love your new photo w/ the harp! Didn't get to brownies yesterday -will do them later today-tomorrow DH & I just having a dinner -no seder (Israeli style -they don't do 2nd nights!) If i do soup I will open a can of broth -throw some matzo balls in & a little dill and it's close to homemade!
The nagging cough is still around -now getting heavy/congested sounding - I was up a good part of the night on the couch trying to "sleep" upright & not disturb DH - he wants me to go back to urgent care (never in my life had I gone to one and now 2x in a month!) After I run errands probably will -maybe they can give me some good sleeping cough meds! Riding later today then nails then seder!
Amy - didn't realize Lukas lost a shoe? Do you get any fancy shoes or just plain? I remember when I was showing H/J the trend was aluminum shoes as they were lighter but didn't last thru a reset!

Hi, all! Hope Faye and Barb have enjoyable seders tonight! Faye, I like the new photo...but I don't think you're in it, right Barb, yes, go get the good meds for sleeping through. Being tired from lack of sleep will interfere with healing! Glad you got out on the trail...twice! Amy, bummer about the shoe but it sounds like the barn gets things resolved quickly! I hated having to wait for a shoer, especially when show season is just around the corner! Hope you get to ride today. Hi to Beth, Libby (who should be home by now, yes?), and Dutch. Did a walk yesterday; sunny but cool, so shorts OK...but needed long sleeves. Harp practice, goofing off... Maybe swim today if nothing at work comes up. Harp lesson later this afternoon. Cat started new antbx today; no barfing yet Cathy

Hi Horsey folks Sorry I've been absent. I was taking a break to recuperate... and then life happen some more. Can I just go on sabbatical for a while? I'm pooped! Woke up Saturday morning with stomach bug of sorts.... felt better late Saturday night. Mostly OK Sunday. And I still have plugged ears from that other bug! So Barb.... I get that you're still coughing! Then Sunday, DH and Kid go to pick up storm branches in pasture (with horse). Kid falls down in front of horse, horse tries to step over him... and misses... 2" laceration on his head, 6 staples later, he's fine. She's barefoot, so nice sharp edge. Assumed concussion, but acting normal. He's at daycare today and I'm at work. DH taking it hard because, if he only did xyz... I'm like, it's an accident. We said we weren't bubble wrapping DS, we're living life. He gets it, but struggling. I went to work to catch a break! lol Later Sunday, I brushed Ally out... at least 2 ton of hair came off her lol. So she's fine. We're all fine. I'm reading your posts, but to be fair my retaining/comprehension right now is not it's normal. Well wishes to you all!

DUTCH-thank goodness DS is ok. must be hard for DH. I still think if I hadn't gone around one more time Dorito wouldn't have spooked and I wouldn't have broken my hip and wrist. hope they'll all be ok. and you too BARB-did you go to the clinic? did you get anything to help with the coughing? CATHY-have a good lesson LIBBY-welcome home. have fun with DGD and hope the cabinets go in quickly and easily.
heading out soon. HAGE everyone

Yes I went to clinic -and basically it's a cough -nothing contagious! But they did give me meds to sleep w/ (codeine) and some "pearls" that are supposed to help during the day -on the fence if they are helping. We did ride -die about 3 miles at a walk & both horses were wet it was so hot -( a week ago we were complaining about the cold!)
Dutch -yikes -glad DS is ok -more or less -yes, accidents happen around horses and my guess is he will be very aware of where he is around them in the future!
Libby -yea- cabinets!

Good afternoon. Had a nice quiet Sunday. This morning I planted the seeds in those peat moss cups. In about a week they should start to germinate. When they get about 2" high I will insert those cups straight into the bales and hopefully they will take off growing.
I started back walking at the school track this morning. I did 1.34 miles in 30 minutes. Very slow for me. I want to get back to doing a 17 min mile again but I realize I need to take it slowly and not hurt myself.
Dutch-it's always scary when your child gets hurt no matter how it happened. Glad DS is doing well. I hope you get to feeling better too. Hope DH can forgive himself about the accident.
Barb-that cough can linger for weeks. Makes you miserable. Happy Passover. Enjoy the meal.
Faye-Happy Passover too. Enjoy the seders.
Cathy-You should be proud of yourself that you are still active whether it's swimming , hiking or whatever.
Libby-glad you got home safe.
Amy-glad the shoe could be replaced today. Hope you get a good ride.

Good morning all! Another bright & shiny day! We actually slept with windows open & ceiling fan running! I slept thru most of the night - the codeine worked somewhat -but still coughing this morning -really getting tired of this! Running to grocery then barn for a solo ride -then DH & I doing some errands, taking dog to park -just another day in retirement world!
Beth- sounds like you have the planting thing under control-how big an area do you wind up with -and what are you planting?
Faye - how was your seder?
Libby -just saw the photos on FB of kitchen -love the cabinets! are you going to do a backsplash? this is so exciting!
Waving to Cathy, Dutch & Amy - more later - HAGD

I'm overjoyed with how the kitchen is looking. With the two walls down, it doesn't even look like the same home! The skylights put so much light in! The cabinets look even better than I could imagine! I'm going to go with the same light pine planks that are in the lvrm as it will flow better for the flooring. I haven't picked out the countertops (dbil will cut out plywood tops for me temporarily today lol) and backsplash hasn't been chosen. I didn't like the existing knobs/drawer pulls (silver) yet now that they are up against the ss appliances, I kind of like them lol! Not sure if I'm going to change them or not yet. Lot's of decisions still. The frig and dishwasher are going in today and the rest of the cabinets and 2 more skylight will be the end of the week. They are set up temporarily now so still functional (kind of lol). I cooked beef stew on my new stove last night and did a little dance I was so thrilled! I was disappointed when I first got home that everything wasn't done-that's life! Trip was long- 3 days of driving all day in a big truck with a 28" trailer behind us. We ended up staying in hotels again, as I unfortunately passed a kidney stone on Monday night/early Tuesday morning and was extremely ill and up all night, slept 2 hours after it passed and then started our drive. Exhausting! I think I could get used to the "snow bird" life! DD just got here, I'll cbl

Howdy Going to play with Ally shortly here.
DS is doing better. I don't really know if his head hurts... or he likes the taste of his medicine. lol
DH is just besides himself. Not good. I guess he was responsible for his dog dying by accidental car accident... and he just related all that 20yr memory to DS accident. *sigh* So not the same, but I get it. At least he's talking to his counselor about it.... but now it's just all about him and his issues.
I'll be fine... always am. (ya, i'm kinda pissed at him now)

Hi, all! Faye, have a good day! We worked on La Rotta, using Kim Robertson's music, not all but some. There was a youtube video of Harper's Hall (my old teacher was a member) playing Chanter's and La Rotta together. I think new teacher wants to use these tunes in June at adult music camp, so good I'm learning them now! Beth, yes, did you say what you're planting? Glad you're back to walking and slow and sure wins the race! Barb, wow...I cannot believe it's so warm there, especially after last week. The ponies must be a bit a mess, still with winter coats? Or are they shedding? Libby, so glad you got home OK, but bummer about the kidney stone...those are not fun!! Glad you love the cabinets...they are purty! Have fun picking out the countertops and backsplash! I love mine but didn't like the cabinet color. I know I can perk them up, just haven't decided how yet. Dutch, ah, kids will be kids. I walked into a girder when I was 7 or 8, got 14 stitches. Ya just gotta go with the flow when it comes to kids. At least DH IS in counseling...I know lots of guys who wouldn't bother (as long as it doesn't become a crutch). Have fun with Ally today! Day 2 of new antibx and no cat barfing. We may make it through 3 weeks Never got out yesterday; work got busy with some pushy people so I stayed in. It's a rainy week, but I think I'll try swimming today, no other tasks on the calendar today. Cathy

Cathy- yes to both they are shedding a bit & a mess w/ winter coats! rode again today -we did the double loop -3.5 miles -mostly walk - a little trot, even littler canter -and she came back pretty wet under saddle. but the trail is all rideable but for one or two mucky spots! And the temp in my car said 90 this afternoon! Happy about your kitty -maybe this is the start of something new/good?
Libby -can't even imagine driving & passing a stone (ok -can't even imagine either one alone let alone together!) hope you can relax a bit even with all going on in the house.
Dutch -just give it time -once DS is back to being his boyish self DH will ease up on himself. And yes, good that he will talk to someone about it.
Amy - shoes done? 2 or 4? Many years ago I had a t-shirt that read: 3 meals a day; a doctor who still makes house calls; new shoes every 6 weeks; daily maid service - in my next life I want to come back as my horse!

So, I emailed the 2nd insurance adjuster yesterday since I hadn't heard anything for 2 weeks. She emailed me back that the mold folks should call w/in 24 hours. We are now at over 2 months since the original water leak. If the mold was toxic, I'd be dead by now. The mold people called this morning and asked if they could come this afternoon, so I had to give up swimming. If they don't show, I literally will go ballistic. I truly need a break from the cat

Hi all, Our farrier works at the racetrack every day and it is fairly close to the farm so it is easier for him to stop out to fix a shoe. Lukas just wears regular shoes and has good feet. (knock on wood). With all the moisture in the ground right now I am concerned about thrush starting. I might do a preventative treatment today.
My show boots are good, I just needed to get used to wearing them again. I really broke them in last season but then put them away to preserve them until the next show season. I put on all my show attire yesterday just to make sure all was in order. It all fits, yay! Lukas has been a fun ride lately. My lessons have moved to Wednesday and I will be in a lesson with my friend Jane. We used to have lessons together a lot a few years back when we boarded at the same place. It should be fun. She has a new horse she bought from my current trainer. Also a Westphalian but only 5 or 6 (Lukas is 13). Jane is younger then me though, I think in her late 30's early 40's.
Barb- I really hope you can kick the illness soon. It has been a bad winter for many with things that keep hanging on.
Libby- before you know it your kitchen remodel will be a faded memory and you will be in your new deluxe kitchen. I am sorry about the kidney stone! can't believe you drove, you are tough!
Faye- It is nice that you got to relax for a celebration. I feel like I usually have so much to do for every holiday. We were sent an edible arrangement once and it was very good, that was a good idea.
Cathy- I can't believe it is taking so long to get your garage fixed! I hope kitty is doing well and that you get out today.
Beth- It is so nice that you are starting back to walking. You are smart to take it easy and build up your pace.
Dutch- sorry about DS. kids are usually pretty resilient and heal fast! Hope DH gets over it too. I think every parent has those moments when they think they messed up with their children I know I have.
HAGD Amy

CATHY-can't believe that about the insurance company. how high up in the company did you call? BARB-hope the cough is better. How was your Seder? we had a fabulous time. we never read after the meal at my cousin but last night we did the whole thing (mostly) and it was fabulous. food was delish . Took DD home and we got home at 11:30 PM so tired today but it was a lovely 2 nights. AMY-does your friend show the same level as you? nice to share a lesson. do the horses get along? DUTCH-hope DH is doing better. guilt is a funny thing, can't really put a bandaid on it, you need to let it go and be grateful it wasn't worse and things happen. Took me over a year to stop blaming myself for breaking a hip and wrist over a hobby whether i loved it or not. I was off the board a while because I couldn't even read about everyone's horses. give it time. I'm glad DS is ok. hopefully, this too shall pass. LIBBY-kidney stone and car ride. geez. you must come from Pioneer stock any decisions on the handles? I have a similar color cabinet and have a brass colored handle. (stainless appliances too)- did the other appliances go in? when will you pick backsplash and counter? that stressed me out. Have fun. BETH-good not to rush back to where you were with the walking. they say the same with weight training. When I finally go back on the treadmill i started slowly but it didn't take long to get back up to speed and duration so you'll get there. did you get your seeds planted?? my daffodils opened now just need to see a red robin because for me that says Spring. kind of gray today, supposed to rain. hope so, if not will have to water the bulbs coming up PS- the show cancelled when it snowed St. Patrick's day will now be a winter holiday show, which is fine with me. Just glad to now have 2 things for next year already scheduled Waving to all HAGD

Dh was a little irritated with me during the drive home, as I wanted to stop at all the rest stops! lol Yesterday was a trying day, dsil and I went to 4 different stores looking at sinks, drawer pulls, knobs- have to match the drawer pull size cause some of the existing cabinets are already drilled. It's a different size, so no go. We threw are arms up and went to lunch lol I'm going to ask the contractor where he got them originally. DH told me yesterday I could get a bigger sink if I wanted. So, I went looking and found a really expensive German made one I love lol! Really enjoyed cooking on my propane stove last night making spaghetti and zucchini fritters on the grill it came with. Dutch; hang in there with dh, guilt is a weird thing- and yes, at least he's going to talk to someone! Faye; what other bulbs do you have planted? Beth; how is the walking going Barb; I'm amazed that your car was 90 degrees! Cathy; What's with the pushy people - was it at work? Raining here, everything went slow in the kitchen yesterday, hopefully see more progress today.

LIBBY-good luck with the handles. I have daffodils and i have 2 different kinds of peonies that are always very pretty (I give them fish emulsion. had it for years and I think I finally need a new bottle.) put in irises but they didn't come in last year. they are growing now so I'm hopeful . the old ones stopped coming up. i tried crocus but I think something ate some. one came up. i see 2 more but so far no flower. honestly, i put in things then forgot where they were and so every year is a surprise. i do butterfly bushes and milk thistle because I love, love, love to see butterflies.

Hi, all! Faye, have a good day...practicing, I'm sure! OUr daffodils have been up for a few weeks but it hasn't been freezing since January? Libby, I picked everything out at once. I had the style of cabinets I wanted, we went to Home Depot to pick color (first time for color cabinets instead of wood stain), then we went to a counter place and picked the countertop and backsplash. LOVE the countertop and the backsplash is white subway tile. Fortunately, my contractor didn't predrill the holes so I could choose anything I wanted for hardware. He drilled after I picked So glad you enjoyed your new stove!! Barb, wow...90 degrees. And as you say, freezing last week. Hope you get in another ride today. Amy, it will be so fun to have a lesson with your friend...I always enjoyed those more than a lesson solely fixed on my flaws Hi to Beth and Dutch! Yeah, the dingdongs did not show up yesterday. As I mentioned, it seems pretty par for course. When I talked to the "dispatcher" he said how about Wednesday but I said I wouldn't give up two days in a row, so they are coming tomorrow afternoon. I haven't spoken to anyone at CSAA yet, but I started my letter and looked up the best contact to send it to: the COO When I get pissed, I go to the top!!! Raining again today so will try the pool this afternoon, hoping it's not too crowded now that spring break is over. Kitty came into bed last night and kneaded my tummy...she hasn't done that for years so it was sweet, even though she woke me up Cathy

Good afternoon. I had another order from an old customer order 24 caps. So yesterday I did 12 of them. Then today he ordered 20 cozies. Tomorrow I finish the caps and work on the cozies Friday and probable mail them Saturday. Meanwhile I still have the other half of the first customer to do but I have until mid May to do that order.
This morning I went to Bible Study. After that DH and had lunch out then went to Office Depot and got the 2 chairs I had ordered for the study. Then came home. I'm sitting in my new chair now and love it.
