Good morning- from last night:
AMY-sounds like a good show. I think getting the placing for jumps is really important and i love how you learned stuff from the day. that's what it's all about. Well done!
Dishes are a simple white, no raised edges, no trim. from william sonoma. My stoneware is my wedding dishes so 35 years old. time for a change.
sorry about the riding pal. Sounds like the trainer has a good attitude and her plan makes sense. hope it works out.
CATHY-that's a lot of cleaning. hope you weren't sore. good luck when Tino comes. think it's a one day job? any idea what they have to do? When do you get your orthotics?
LIBBY-how are you doing? are the stretches helping the legs and foot? Is DGD back home? hope they had fun feeding Rosie. Good luck with the kitchen. you're in the home stretch!
BETH-glad you are ok and hope your pastor's knee is ok. please update when you know something.
Just waiting for the call to see when dishwasher repairman comes.
waving to all.

Hi, all...having issues again. I think it's the ads that take forever to load and impede typing... Faye, good luck with the dishwasher! Orthotics are probably another week out, maybe next week? Beth, glad the storms passed you by, but oh my, your poor pastor. I hope the good work from the sx hasn't been ruined! Amy, you have the perfect attitude for showing (I wish I'd had more of that when I was younger). You get out there and just do it, learning from every event! (I showed with younger kids and it was ALWAYS so frustrating to see them win and I didn't...they also had very expensive horses...mine was not ). Hi to Barb, Libby and Dutch! Bangalore has yet another day off today, their Labor Day, I guess. So the whole day will be super quiet. Tino, the mold guy, comes around noon for signatures, I hope to swim, and harp lesson late afternoon. Cathy

Good afternoon. Had to go to Walmart this morning, I didn't get the dog/cat food Friday so I got it today. It wasn't as crowded in the store today. Got the order mailed off this morning. DH's on a field trip and should be home in about an hr.

BETH-always wondered if bus drivers liked field trips or if it was boring to hang out and wait. Glad the store wasn't crowded and you have your order mailed out. CATHY-good luck with Tino and happy harp lesson. LIBBY-is it far to take dgd to drop off?
dishwasher is fixed. just needed some things cleaned and adjusted. for 10 yrs old he said it was in good shape so that was nice.
back to harp practice--doing some lullabies for Mother's day background. HAGD

good afternoon- spent most of the morning re-arranging glass in the shop in the new spot -the manager said that she is re -thinking the spot i was in last month as the other person who had the other half didn't sell anything either -i almost asked for 1/2 of the fee back (just kidding) new spot is much more visable & accessable -so keeping fingers crossed.
Taking Tundra to my friend's in a bit then will pack - we leave at 6am EST -get into Vegas 12:30 their time -but for us it will be 3:30 -going to be a long day -
Not sure if i will be able to access the site while I'm there -so everyone be safe, have fun & ride if you can!

Hi all, Faye, white dishes make the food the "star" and go with everything. My dishwasher is 20 years old and DH wants to replace it but I want to hold off until it doesn't work anymore.
Cathy, thanks for the compliment but I think my attitude is due to being older, I am just grateful to get a chance to do what I dreamed of doing as a kid. I truly never thought I would ever get the chance. Good luck with Tino.
Beth, I hope your pastor heals well. I also am wondering what your DH thinks of field trips.
Barb, Does the shop do much advertising on social media? Maybe featuring some of the art or artists? I hope you get some sales with the better spot in the shop.
Libby- Do you and DGD play car games on long drives?
Dutch- what have you been doing with Ally lately?
I am off work tomorrow so I will be able to get to the barn. Hoping to get some yard work done, the ground is so wet the weeds should come up easily.

Hi horse lovers, Amy, we like the I spy with my little eye game in the car, a lot of the time the dgd's fall asleep! Hope you get to work in your yard. Our weather is going to clear up starting tomorrow, so that's my plan later this week. Really need to do something with the entry way. Barb; you must be flying off to las vegas! have fun! I was there on the weekend and there were so many people! It was fun to people watch. Faye; their is a chair exercise class at the YMCA on T & TH at noon. I'm trying to get ds to go and it would benefit me also! I have a new awesome dishwasher that hasn't been hooked up yet! My old one was very old, yet still worked - like Amy, I don't usually buy new until they brake! Beth: Glad you got your order mailed off. DH's service dog, Dakota has been having high liver enzymes She has been on medication for 3 months, it was a little better, yet still high. She is going in for more blood work today for DNA testing. Canine Companions is thinking that some of their dogs are holding onto too much copper causing liver damage and they are wondering if it is genetic. She may be looking at a liver biopsy down the road. More medications, vit E and special dog food that is 3x more than the expensive food we feed now! I looked up low copper foods and I'm thinking about making her food most of the time. Beef and white meat chicken and turkey are low copper and so are most vegetables and rice. She is such a smart dog and so sweet! Cathy; did the mold guy come? Wave to AMy and Dutch My horse vet increased the barn call to $91.00, so the horse bill for last Friday was just under $500. I may have to go back to work to pay off all these vets! Today is an unpacking boxes for the kitchen day, I also have a little consulting work to do. Looking forward to some sun for the remainder of the week!

BETH-always wondered if bus drivers liked field trips or if it was boring to hang out and wait. I also am wondering what your DH thinks of field trips. A lot depends on the field trip. Most times if there are other drivers going to the same field trip, he will talk with them. Other trips he will take a book or do some paper work (yes they do have paper work). Some trips he gets to participate with the children such as going to zoos, circuses and such. My horse vet increased the barn call to $91.00, so the horse bill for last Friday was just under $500 You can get vaccines from Jeffers and give them to the horses yourself. That was the only way I could really afford my horses especially when I had 10 here at the house when I was breeding the mares. Giving them yourself is a fraction of the cost than having the vet do them. My avatar isn't the best picture but it is a harp pattern I did for Faye on an umbrella.

BARB-hope you have a great flight and time in Vegas. enjoy the shows. LIBBY-sorry about Dakota. hope they can figure it out. My friend cooks for her dog. Glad you are up to unpacking. hope the dishwasher is hooked up soon. Luckily the fix for mine was pretty basic and no parts Is it chair exercise or chair yoga? My friend does chair yoga here and likes it. Have a good day consulting. (we used to do I Spy a ... When Dd was younger) BETH-avatar looks good. thanks. Any news on your Pastor's knee AMY-any shopping for a jacket? did you get to ride today? any more shows in near future? DUTCH-how's Ally? is the ground drying up. I see some places have more snow! good workout and had a hair cut. growing it out a bit we'll see. looks nice. Like the color we are doing now. waving to all. HAGD

Hi, all! Faye, glad dishwasher fix was "minor". I also hate upgrading unless something is broken. I didn't get a flat-screen TV for probably 10 years after they started coming out. I ended up getting one because I couldn't read captions anymore on the old tube TV Beth, it sounds as if DH has a routine on his class trips. The first time I went to Australia, travelling by myself, I was on the day trip. The bus dropped us off at this pier for a boat ride and the driver came with us. When we stopped, he got off so I did too. Guess I wasn't supposed to but just said "I didn't feel well" and hung out in the bus. It was fine, lesson learned. Barb, I hope the new location gets you more sales! Have fun in Vegas, baby! Amy, yes, yard work. I need to get the trimmer out and cut weeds again. Hope you get to the barn tomorrow...is it lesson time? Libby, wow...5 hours round trip. That IS a long day. I do not miss horse vet bills, but have apparently exchanged those for cat vet bills. I never learned how to give horse shots either but it sounds like it's a money saver. Hi to Dutch! I'm waiting on the mold guys. There were supposed to be here an hour ago, called and said traffic was bad. I know they are coming from Monterey which, on a good day, can be 1.5 hours. We'll see how it goes. Swam yesterday and timed it perfectly. Had to share a lane but at least I didn't have to wait. Nice weather = busy pool. Got some smarty-pants comments from one of the regular ladies but decided to just ignore it. She's not an easy person to like anyway Camera is ready but I don't know when I'll get there; hopefully this afternoon, but it depends on the mold guys (now it's Juan ). Cathy

Hi all Mold guys sound unprofessional Hope you had an uneventful drive to PDX Libby! Waves to everyone else! I've done nothing with Ally. Ground soaking wet still. So I helped DH lift the trusses up on the shop he's building. His dad came over to help also. So, that's done..and now DS is sick again. I'm just over it...

Hi Horse lovers.
Dutch- So sorry DS is sick again. Sometimes they get into a cycle where they just keep picking up the next germ that comes along because it is too quick after the last illness to have their immune system fully recover. Hopefully the warm dry weather ahead will help.
Faye-glad you like your hair cut and color. I have been going to the same guy for over 20 years but am thinking of switching. I am kind of afraid to do that though because what if I don't like the new person. Plus we have so much "history" together I am just not sure.
Cathy- if this mold situation gets taken care of we will ALL be relieved along with you. TOO MUCH! Glad you got your swim in.
Beth- I kind of do a mix between having the vet do some things and doing some things myself. I don't like to give injections but there are plenty of people around the barn who will do it for me. I also buy wormers but get a friend to give it to him. I am a wimp when it comes to some things.
Libby- hope things can be worked out for your service dog.
It would have been a good day for gardening but I ended up working on a valence project in the family room instead, that is where inspiration led me today. I had a fun practice ride on Lukas this morning.

Hi, all...so, just a catch-up. The mold guys showed and got to work. It sounded like WWIII as far as I was concerned. Recipricating saws, huge nails being pulled out (you know the sound), pounding. I thought they CLEANED the mold but apparently they take away what's been "infected". I worried all night that the structure of the TH had been ruined (too many DIY TV shows I think). I haven't see the work area yet because they have plastic curtains up everywhere (maybe I should go peek?). At noon, Juan told me he thinks there's more mold in the rafters and it should be dealt with, like now. I told him I didn't have time to clear out the garage or be available for any work past Wednesday (told Tino this last week). So anyway, waiting to hear this morning what the plans are. Apparently they sent a report to the insurance adjuster and will wait to hear back from her. I get the feeling that this might be a ploy to get more money so if the adjuster says "no", I'd agree. I'm not paying for it.
Got no exercise yesterday (was really hot, in the 80's...what happened to spring? We went from rain to heat...bleh). I'm not sure what will happen today...it's anyone's guess.
Dutch, love the photo...and Amy's caption was perfect! Amy, glad you at least got in a ride. When is the next show? Hi to everyone else...hope you have a good day!
Cathy

Hi all, Cathy- can't they just spray the rafters with some kind of solution? I don't really know but it sounds a little suspicious. Especially since they took so long to finally get going on this the problem is probably bigger. I know some molds can be dangerous but not all so be careful.
Lukas has a shoe that it a little loose but still on so I took an easy ride today. Farrier comes tomorrow to do his trim and new shoes so we should be good to go for our Lesson on Friday. The next show for me is not until May 28th so I have some practice time. Lukas has been a super good boy lately, I think he likes spring and I think he likes all the other horses and activity at the barn, makes his life more interesting I guess.

Good morning. Yesterday at choir practice DH found out more about our pastor's condition. It seems that when he fell on his knee the tendon detached and pulled up toward his groin. He's supposed to have surgery today. I don't know how accurate this is but supposedly the surgeon will make an incision from his knee to his groin and stretch the tendon back and reattach it to his knee. He will have to keep his leg straight for up to 6 weeks. Then possibly have more surgery after that. Just remember that this is all 2nd and 3rd hand information.

Good morning, Rode horses with dgd (11 yo) yesterday - horses were really good! Lucy needed a little refresher on whoa, she was walking thru dgd's whoa's. We rode in the arena and then took all the gates down and rode around the property, no spooks or problems - it was really fun! Dgd wants to barrel race Lucy this summer at the local saddle club on Tuesday evenings. She has been practicing at a trot. Rosie seems to be gaining weight slowly. You can still easily see her ribs Faye; it will be weeks before we get Dakota's results. Has anyone else made dog food for their pups before? The new food is 8 lbs. for $45.00 - Dakota is about a 60 lb dog. Researched which foods have low to zero copper. My clothes washer flooded the laundry room last night! ugh! hopefully it's an easy fix! Beth; oooh, get those sheets cleaned! lol, sorry about your pastor, that sounds complicated! I've been having to do my online continuing nursing education and yesterday did skin, muscles, fascia and tendons - wow forgot how complicated our bodies are and how we take it all for granted! Cathy; projects happen that way! Start out as one thing, then blow up into a big thing - sorry, it was really warm here yesterday also 75 degrees, we were out riding in our tank tops, sweating due to the humidity! Dutch; glad everything went well with the vet! Hope ds is getting better quickly. Barb; looks like your having a blast in Las Vegas! (FB) Amy; nice to have the black out blinds! I'll bet the valance is cute. Your horse has worked out really well for you Did you find a new jacket? Kitchen update: decided since the ceiling is still down that now is the time to get cam lights in the lvrm area. Will go pick them out tonight and get them installed on Sunday. Sheet rock guy has not called back! Hoping that can get done early next week! Started this project the 15th of December, have been unpacking a couple of boxes each day Still have 4 cabinets to go up, waiting for sheet rock in that area. That's were my dishes and glasses will go. Off to drs. with ds today, yesterday they called and canceled as we were walking out the door!
