Good morning- BETH-sorry to hear Pastor is in a lot of pain. Is he home or still in the hospital? did they reconnect the tendon? How is your hay garden going??? BARB-glad you rode and it went well. DUTCH-same question as Barb- are you keeping Ally? CATHY-sorry about LAX. I wonder how many people aren't flying because it's not worth the hassle? LIBBY-how'd the electrical and sheetrock go? AMY-did you start jacket shopping?
had a lovely weekend in the city with DD. went down Saturday for brunch and Sunday for dinner. She did a bowling party for her friends. waving to all. HAGD

Good Morning All! faye -thanks once again for being our starter! Glad you had fun w/ DD -you are so lucky to have her close & be close to the "city"!
Yes, flying is no longer fun -I have been lucky as when I fly I usually get pre-screened -don't know if it's just luck of the draw or since I fly Southwest all the time my name just triggers it -but it does make it somewhat easier. DH went in for his first mohs today -they do it "slow" here -one today -then back tomorrow to see if they got it all -to close it up or do more -then a 3rd if necessary!
Doing some club paper work (I am membership for the art group) then errands & barn =

Howdy folks!
I'd had planned on selling Ally at the year mark (Aug/Sept)... but that was when I was stupid and thought she was a year older. I did buy her as an 'investment' I'm working on my financial plan B- ie. not working in corporate America 10yrs from now. But we figured how to manage our pasture more efficiently. Vet likes how she looks and how the pasture is doing. Figured I have 5-7 place I can bring her monthly (ie. one place a weekend) which exposes her to various places, hauling, I can clip her there, wash racks, arena, etc... I mean, I can't really even lunge her yet considering how much she is still growing. So I save money- and she gets the experience she needs. None of these places are further than 30 min away- pulling loaded trailer and 4 are within 5 minutes. So not even a big deal time or gas wise.
Fast mending to those in pain!

HI, all! Faye and Barb, yeah, I get prescreened out of San Jose, so for me it seems to be airport-related. LAX is 'hole 'nother ball of wax. What a mess that place is! Faye, no lesson today since I didn't get any practice in last week. Glad you had a good time with DD! Barb, glad you had a good time in Vegas. The one time I was there I wanted to see one of the Cirques...have seem them before, just a general, not themed performance. But was outvoted and we got to see Thunder from Down Under..yuck a duck. Dutch, I think it's great that you have enough space to divide the pasture and truck ally to places as needed. I would have loved space to own instead of boarding. Amy, glad Lukas got his shoes and you have the indoor for all the rain! Libby, wow, sounds like a wild storm! I think there was a little rain here, but not anything like what you got. So sheet rock is all in place? Ready for...painting? Have you picked out color yet? As Barb said, so glad to be home. Really enjoyed seeing niece and where she was living and her school. SHe and her dad (my brother) took us for a drive around campus on Friday. Saturday was a zoo, and worried about mom. She's overweight and decided NOT to take her diuretic so that she didn't have to pee all the time, but I think it stressed her heart a bit. We made it home all OK and kitty was happy to see me (much like a dog). I'm tired of sitting...my legs are restless so I'll either walk this afternoon or swim, depending upon mood (which ain't real good). Left a message with claim adjuster because, big surprise, haven't heard from anyone since last Tuesday. Complaint letter just keeps getting longer Cathy

Good evening. I'm walking more each morning. This morning I did a 3 mile walk at 3mph which is 20 minutes/mile. I'm trying to get my distance built then later on I will work to get the speed up to about 16-17mph. I want to do a week or two at 3 miles before I add the speed.

Good Morning! Faye- impressed with all that you do -pilates, yoga, working out. I haven't been to the Y since I got sick -to be honest once the weather is nice -(ok -it's not really nice yet) and I am riding more I kind of let the gym slip. Weather permitting I ride at least 5 days a week-also clean the shed/pasture about the same & take TUndra to park or for hour+ walks -so figure that's enough. I will go back in the fall.
Beth- yes, good plan for your walking.
Off to have acrylic nails taken off for the summer to give the nails a "rest"- I do this every 2-3 years - will put them back on before the August cruise! Then will clean & do lunch for the ponies (we did a short ride yesterday) and then going w/ DH back to doctor for day 2 of mohs -hopefully they got it all yesterday and today they can sew him up!

BARB-you do real life workouts, i need the gym or Pilates. you lift a saddle, I lift a weight. Smart to let your breathe for the summer. LIBBY- how do the walls look? sounds like you are almost done. CATHY-can't believe how long this mold remediation is taking. so sorry. BETH-glad you are walking; you'll be back to speed soon. is your pastor home or still in the hospital? will they get a sub? DUTCH-nice you have choices for Ally to go to. so you'll keep her another year?
AMY is still sick. she was off this week from the office and hoping to ride. I hope she feels better and can get out soon.

Hi horse lovers, The sheetrock got put up yesterday afternoon. Today they will come back and do the tape and mudding. Then come back and sand everything. I have plastic everywhere! It looks really nice! I'm going to stick with the Sherman Williams, mason blanche paint, it's an off white that has a spot of yellow and gray mixed in it, and leave the contrasting wall the jersey cream (yellow base) it was painted last year. I wanted more of the jersey cream, yet can't find a smart place to change the color-now that there isn't walls to define areas lol I'm working out with my dvd, doing stretching each day. My feet have really been painful starting in the afternoon, waiting for my referral to get approved - it went into chart review instead of being approved! HMO's can really be a pain! literally! The steroid shot in the elbow worked very well Faye; sounds like you had a nice time w/dd Barb; I like to get gel nails, I hurt myself too much with the acrylics! glad your able to get out and ride! Cathy; kitty sounds so cute, we call our 18 lb. cat kittydog, he greets people at their cars when they come over! I think he's 15 years old now. how old is your kitty? Beth; glad you've been able to walk, are you going to plant the garden or keep it in the hay bales? I'm trying to picture it. Amy; hope you get better quickly Dutch; Sounds like your really close to a lot of facilities! so nice! A little work this morning, then working in the yard, finally dried out a bit HAGD everyone!

Hi, all! Faye, thanks for letting us know about Amy. I was hoping the flu season was done, I guess it's not Barb, I agree with you, I'd rather be outside than in a gym which is why the swimming has taken over for the workouts Hope you get some riding in! Libby, sounds like you have the color all worked out. I've never had to change colors due to a disappearing wall before! Sorry your feet are bugging you...are the orthotics not helping or is it something else? Isabelle the kitty is 16. Beth, I'm usually around 19/20 min per mile. I have hills so the first mile is usually 20 minutes, the second mile w/downhill is closer to 18 minutes Glad your feeling good! Hi to Dutch and Amy (get better soon!)! The claims adjuster called back and said if I wanted to just complete the current work to call the mold guys and have them finish. She apparently got the additional photos of extra mold but "hasn't had time to review them yet". I told her I was done with all this and just wanted the current project finished. Ended up swimming yesterday, no big surprise. Very nice. Today I have to go grocery shopping. I have nothing much to make meals with so I can't wait for the weekend. And I guess I have to pick up some kitty meds so might as well get it all over with. Will need to go get camera at some point but it was more $$ than I thought so need to wait for payday this week before getting the camera back from the shop. Cathy

Gosh, I hope I didn't shut everyone down? I think I do have to start working on a more positive attitude...more mindfulness. The negativity is still a struggle for me right now. I feel like all I do is submit complaints I made the cat med run and the grocery run yesterday. Hopefully the mold guys show up today and clean up the last of the project. I'll worry about additional issues when my mind in the right place to deal with it. I will probably walk today. Cathy

Cathy, you're fine by me! I think I'm a bit younger than many of you. I can see what you're talking about though. No, it's not everyone. Yes, I'd say it's my generations teachings. I do find many younger (20's) folks generally disrespectful- distant, not acknowledging a "good morning", not saying please/thank you, etc. Seems (to some degree) these social norms are changing. I'm just swamped with work these days- that is the bosses goals, right? I've also just been dealing with life stuff, so really not much playing with Ally. Not like I feel I should be anyway. But I am surviving - and that is important! Waves to everyone else!

Hi All - Beth- no matter what the age is -respect is something that should be given-doesn't matter how old we are! ( although I'm guessing I may the the "elder" of this group!) that being said - I rode my horse today! I got a new phone before we went to Vegas & still trying to set it up -went to the Sprint store this morning & they messed it up even more - trying to update ringers (want specific ones for DS, DH & everyone else) I can download them (from the app I have used before) but they don't seem to stick. Will try a different Sprint store for help. DH is feeling better today from his surgery - big mother bandage on his head! but they got everything so all is good.
Dutch -hope you can work everything out & find Ally time - that will help clear your head. Amy - how are you feeling?
Waving to Cathy, Faye, Libby - going to do some work on inventory - putting glass in yet another shop -in a large vacation area - so hope this might be the one - the other 2 stores have not sold anything yet

Good afternoon. Got the hay bales watered this morning. It is supposed to rain tomorrow so I shouldn't have to water them then. Heard the woodpecker in the tree at the track this morning. I hear it but it's very hard to actually find in the tree. The weather has been in the 50's-60's in the morning which is very nice to walk in.

Went to a site for work this morning, it only took 15 minutes, it was about 15 minutes away! The place I used to work is laying off all their nurses as of July 1st. They are just keeping one for the work at the prison (not the nurse I trained). I'm so glad I got out of there when I did! Things are going downhill fast there! Two of the nurses are single parents, so I'm worried about them. Worked in the yard most of the day yesterday, then brought ds to the doctors. The mudding and taping of the walls was messy. DH let the guy go (said he looked tired) and said he would clean up - guess who had to clean up?? HAH! He'll be back today to do the second coat and then hopefully tomorrow he'll sand it - it looks really good! Cathy; I think we all complain on this site sometimes, it's a safe place to vent!! I love hearing about your hikes, swimming and your kitty! Faye; are you doing something fun for mothers day? Barb; hopefully in a tourist type place your products will sell better! Beth; yes, a picture of the bales would be great! Amy; hope your getting better! Dutch: working, with children, a husband, a horse..... it's a busy life - I hope you make some time for yourself! Off to work in the yard some more! HAGD everyone!

CATHY-i agree with Libby, here's the place to vent. I think it's a people thing not an age thing. Rude parents make for rude children. pity. I taught my DD to hang up things she tried on because salespeople are for selling, not a personal maid. I've walked into dressing rooms that look are full of clothes on the bench. What can you do. HOpe you feel better. meditate maybe. do mindfulness walking. I exercise to burn it off . Hugs DUTCH-hope things slow down a bit and you can relax. BETH-would love to see the hay bale LIBBY-sorry to hear about the nurses. glad you are out but scary about the others. hope they find something. Going to the Metropolitan museum of art for lunch. then will walk around a bit. Good luck with the sanding!! BARB-good luck with the new phone. I hate new tech stuff and learning. Glad you rode. is it drying out??
Went to the NYC ballet for a working rehearsal with my former riding buddy. what fun. they did have costumes on and one had a background. fun to see them stop and fix stuff and then continue. They do a class in the AM then do the rehearsal then they have a show at night. Amazing!
waving to all . HAGD
PS- have to laugh--thinking about it Cathy, years ago DD and I were at a mall. The salesperson asked where we were from. I said NJ. He said, no what country, I said USA why? We both said please and thank you and he thought we were from another country! Happened to us twice. we were hysterical. I mean, how much is it to say that or hold a door open for someone? People--takes all kinds. not worth getting upset over. then they won. I just laugh and think, REALLY??!!! and move on. Feel better

Hi, I guess I have the flu. I am over the most uncomfortable part I think. I was able to get dressed yesterday and do some laundry but I feel sick again as soon as the medicine wears off. I am sad that this was my week off from the office, I was looking forward to it. It could be a lot worse though and I am going to be fine.
Lukas got two training rides instead of me having a lesson. My barn friends have been petting him and giving him treats so I am sure he likes that.
I did read through everyone's news.
I haven't noticed much change in how people treat me as I age other then I don't get the rude "cat calls" from construction guys etc. anymore. I think that how people treat me is more of reflection on them then on me.
Not feeling very chatty for once. LOL

Good Morning -Amy - hope you feel better soon- being sick sucks! At least you know that Lukas is being looked after & worked.
Faye- ballet sounds like fun - when we lived in Albany -the NYC ballet would summer at SPAC & we had season tix for the lawn seats -would go every other week to see a performance - it was fun. Yes - it is starting to dry out (in spots) leaving deep, deep dirt BUT they are saying approx 2" of rain Saturday into SUnday so here we go again. I am surprised that Penny's shoes have stay on -will try to get farrier in next week as it will be almost 8 weeks!
Beth- like Faye, can't wait to see the finished bales! We never put our garden in till Memorial Day weekend.
Libby- sounds like you are in the home stretch for the kitchen -did you get new appliances as well? How is Rosie doing?
Cathy - is the insurance taking care of most of (or all of) the mold & repairs - what a pain -hope this gets finished soon for your sake
Dutch -hang in there -things can only get better - keep thinking good thoughts! and playing with Ally!
I have 4 hour art gallery duty today -my last for this rotation -another LOOONNNNGGG day -as I am guessing no one will come in (again!) going to pull a few pieces from there for the new shop -(checked with the other 2 shops - nothing has sold - will pull at end of month from the one in the mall - and the other one I had to sign up for May & June )
Waving to all - HAGD - ride if you can - CBL

BARB-have a good day at the gallery. hope people come in. rain here for Saturday. The ballet was fun. I've been to an ABT dress rehearsal but never a working rehearsal. fun to see them stop and tell the pianist to slow it down at a spot where they need time to pirouette! very interesting to see them hang out on the stage. AMY-so sorry about the flu. rest up. Glad Lukas is getting attention at the barn. LIBBY-good luck with the rest of the kitchen. How's the foot? BETH-still too cold here to plant and I usually put stuff in Mother's day. not sure yet. May not even bother, my perennials look nice and may leave it at that. the deer eat my stuff anyway. are you done with Bible study class? CATHY-any news on the orthotics?
waving to Dutch and ATF. HAGD (Off to my Kabbalah class, it ends this month, then nothing til after the holidays in Sept)

Hi horse lovers, The dry wall guy canceled yesterday. He is coming today. Spent most of the day working in the yard. Sometimes I think this place is too big! I need to figure out how to make it more maintenance free or at least easier. I think paving the driveway would be a great first step! Rain is forecasted for the next 5 days! oh boy! Hi, all...and thank you for all your kind words and like-wise stories...I guess it is what it is. Amy, love your quote "More of a reflection on them then on me"...good to remember. Faye, glad you had fun at the ballet. I don't think I've ever been to a rehearsal like that; I've seen a few performances, but not many. Libby, hope the drywall guy gets it all done today. You said you had everything covered, right? Cuz when the sanding starts, it will be a mess! What kind of yard work are you doing? Are you weeding or prepping for a veggie garden? Beth, I guess that's one good thing about the rain...lets you take a break from watering! Do you know what kind of woodpeckers you have in your area? We have mostly acorn, a few piliated (sp?) in some areas. Barb, sounds like you might have time to read during your tour, or is it that you have to keep moving around the gallery? I really like the "tree" plate you posted yesterday...the colors were lovely! Glad DH is doing well and no more mohs at this point. Dutch, yeah, I guess we go through spells where things seems disasterous. I know it will get better, it always does...its just the waiting Amy, you poor thing...I'm so sorry you've been so sick, and during your vacation! I hope you get out and about soon but take it easy. It is nice to know Lukas is getting spoiled while you're out. Mold guy(s) were here yesterday, sanding and stuff. At one point, the lights - and computer - went out. I went down to check and the guy there had shocked himself when the vacumm came in contact with the air purifier (he had that wide look in his eyes). He said he was OK, but then it took him, his supervisor and some phone calls to get the power back on. The inspector comes out late this afternoon, then hopefully they can come back and take everything down. They ran the air purifiers all night...kind of loud. I'm betting my neighbor isnt' too happy with me. Orthotics are in, so maybe will pick those up tomorrow, along with camera. It's payday and I think I can afford everything Today I'll swim. Cat is paging me...I must go! Cathy

As I expected - not a soul came in -the gallery is in a really out of the way spot - cheap rent - but out of sight - out of mind -I will not be putting work in there for the next roatation (June/July) so no sitting required. If & When i put in again I may opt to pay $15 and not waste 4 hours of my time! Upreach begins again tomorrow -I am working with the same client again this session -she then takes the summers off -so i can do an early session (9am) this one is at 11!
Good night - Greys tonite!
