Good morning. I'm Home!
Now I need to 'fess up'. this past show was the last show for me on the road. I wasn't sure if I would sell most of the stuff or not and had another show in November on the back burner just in case. DH's parents and my DM are all older and not in the best of health. DH's mother is 91, very frail and has beginning dementia. His DF has had open heart surgery, back surgeries, shoulder surgery and has fallen several times. My DM has had, well, MANY surgeries and now her back is hurting again. We decided we didn't want to be on the road at a show if something should happen to them and we couldn't get to them fast. The parents are depending more and more on us.
I'm still taking orders and doing them in my house. I haven't quit the business. I have kept one machine and sold the other. So that's my big news for the day.
Amy- when do you think you may get to ride Lukas?
Allison-are you almost finished with the project?
Faye-glad you had fun doing the duet at the library.
Cathy-elderly kitties. What can you say?
Barb-when is your next show?
Libby-did you ever get the 2 jobs straightened out?

Apple crisp was delish -so easy with one of those apple peeler thingys! Kilns going pretty much 24/7 these days - next week I am picking up about 20 pieces from a shop in MA that just isn't doing enough -I actually forgot what pieces I had there so it will be interesting - I went thru the inventory sheets -more stuff for upcoming shows!
Amy -keep us posted on Luka -

Good morning,
Leaving for a lesson soon - this is my favorite weather for riding!!
Faye - congrats on your successful concert AND the loss! Way to go.
Amy - I know you're probably so excited to ride on Wednesday. Is there the possibility of watching your trainer ride him over the next couple of days?
Beth - I think you're home from your show? I bet it's good to be home!
I'm hoping to start painting today. I'm really dragging my feet on this because I'm painting the ceiling first (ugh). I like painting the walls - at least you get the instant gratification of the new color😋 Have a nice day, everyone!

BETH-sorry about the health of your parents and DH's. totally understand wanting to be closer to home. MY DM died over 20 yrs ago, my husband commuted to work so we could live in the same building. When she died we moved to NJ and my father came with us. I don't know how people fly to Florida for elderly parents. not easy at any age. glad you will still be doing mail orders. BARB-thanks. that's so sweet. I would really miss everyone. you've been a great support team and not just for weight loss. Hope you are enjoying riding in the nice weather. what do you make for the Holidays? DD will come home so making the standards. So did Tundra enjoy the trail? how does that work. does he run/walk with you? ALLISON-enjoy the lesson. happy painting--what color? I like painting, it's moving furniture that i hate! that was years ago, now we have the painter come, much easier AMY-what about seeing a jumping video? will your trainer jump Lukas too before you get to ride? How old is he? LIBBY-what happened with the house sale? hope things are going ok. Have things slowed down any at work? DUTCH-How's Ally? did you finally choose the show name? Quiet day today. need to put away the Peace program music and get my Winter holiday show book to gether. 3 shows in Dec but first an ensemble show in Nov (the friend that played with me yesterday is in ensemble so we did some of our program) waving to all. Hi horse lovers, was ill with food poisoning or flu Saturday evening, all night and in bed all day Sunday! What a waste of time! Feel a lot better today. Had the vet come out Friday and do a well check on Rosie, talked about her feed, she said she is a 4 on the 1 - 10, with 4-7 being ok. She doesn't want her any thinner, so I'm going to try and see if adding some alfalfa will help. She is such a princess when it comes to eating! I can't believe it, yet my boarder/barn help bought another horse. She is keeping it at her friends house. She plans on training it and selling it for a lot of money. I hope it works for her. She knows she can't keep it here. One 1/2 acres is crowed with 4 horses. She has only worked with her horses here once or twice in the past 2 months, she pretty much just cleans, feeds and leaves. She was very helpful taking care of the horses this weekend when I was ill. Things have slowed down at work, although Thursday a child had an episode (food allergy) and my phone was ringing off the hook at the same time my company came for dinner! The rewriting of wills has been interesting. We are not doing a conventional will. It is going to be in trusts, so that we avoid probate, and can afford long term care if necessary. Got a good history lesson about wills and how they were originally made so that if there were no male heirs that the property wouldn't automatically go back to the king. HAGR everyone! Really miss working out! I think I'll take one more week off, then go buy some good Zumba shoes!

Good Morning horse lovers! Sounds like you're all doing great! I'm now hungry for apple crisps! amy: He sounds lovely. You're doing great! Ally is doing great! I've started picking her feet. I don't really have anywhere to tie her... so it's a bit entertaining w/ us going in circles to get to her back legs! lol We'll work it out. She is a love though! I've never seen such a kind/friendly mare! Of course she's never had to do any real work yet! haha. I think she needs some work - she's getting fat! ha! Vet is coming next week. Still need a farrier to answer return a call - sheesh! #1 name choice is: Luv N My Marked Woman ... but I still need to take pictures so I can send the paper work in! @chickadee... Ally is about 16 months. I need a saddle (that fits her) and I could toss one on her now - but I'll chat with the vet first about riding. I want to make sure her knees are closed up first. I'm guess at the earliest, next summer. Fine with me! I'm doing this all myself. It's been a while, but she's not my first. I have several trainers I can contact. I'm on the fence if I'm going to do the breaking or now.... I will do all the work up to that point - ... we'll see! I'm no spring chicken anymore! I don't bounce as well as I used to! ((Squiggle)) It's hard! ))Food poisoning((

Hi, all! Faye, glad the library gig went well. Funny...that Jewish medley that my old teacher arranged? The first song came up in some music my NEW teacher gave me..I thought it sounded familiar Small music world! Beth, yeah, everything is getting older, but what can you do. I'm pretty sure you're not heartbroken about quitting the circuit. It's good that you still have the usual requests to help with the monthly budget. Libby, sorry about the food poisoning...that is the worst! Glad you're feeling better today, the house has passed inspection, hopefully the appraisal goes well. Rosie is a "princess" about food...picky? Likes special stuff? Won't eat off the ground? Barb, do you think you can sell the MA pieces somewhere else, like at a show? Will they have feedback for you? Are you taking new pieces to them? So many questions today I have... Amy, yeah, glad you got to spend some time with Lukas. I agree...if you could watch the training sessions today or tomorrow, it would be nice to see him move. (And I totally agree with you on his tail! Lovely!) Allison, good luck with the painting...ceilings are a drag. The primer-and-paint in one cuts down on the time, but it is heavier paint. KInd of a catch 22. Dutch, glad you had some time with Ally. I guess using a trainer is always available...it depends on your time and budget Didn't go to mom and dad's. Called them about 2pm and cancelled, said the cat was making me nervous so stayed home (and mom made cream puffs...my favorite ). Cat does seem better today, but I have a call in to the vet to talk to her about arthritis in cats. She'll call tomorrow when she gets in. Now that we aren't going to the vet, maybe I can go swimming. It's been rather warm her lately, late Indian Summer weather. Cathy

Libby- have you thought about hay stretcher? I used it on Aaron the last few years I had him & it really helped him hold his weight. Can't believe it will be 3 yrs since I put him down on Friday - I will go "visit" him (the cows are now in that pasture!) We did our wills a few years ag0 putting everything in trusts as well -
Cathy - I will most likely put some of those pieces in the shop here in town- will swap out what they have now & of course I have 7 shows mid Oct -Dec -and yet, i keep making more!
Faye- I will make break fast as usual - tuna, bagels, lox, kugel (no boil noodles -so easy) and what ever else I think of! We usually go to a friend's house for Rosh Hashana -everyone brings something - I do honey cake - When we take Tundra to the trails we have her off leash most of the time -unless we see a "pile" (he he) as that is prime puppy food! SHe is pretty good about coming back - we do a lot of re-calls & treats! And yes, heading to FL every few months is hard -luckily I do have a sister & brother who live 15 mins from my folks but since I am the oldest.....
Debate tonite should be interesting -or sad?!
Have a good evening all

BARB-do you have a good recipe for kugel? sounds good. DD comes home for both and it's just jus. LIBBY-so sorry about the food poisoning. hope you are feeling better. CATHY-i need to revisit the Jewish tune your other teacher sent me. I 'll see what the first one is. I think it is a very famous one.

Good morning.
It was 66* this morning when I did my walking. Very nice. We unloaded the trailer yesterday and took it to the place we bought it to check out some lighting issues. I have a buyer for it but I don't want to sell it until we get this issue repaired. The trailer will be going to WA somewhere near Seattle but I'm not exactly sure where. My friend who came to the horse show, it's her sister who wants to buy it and she lives in WA. My friend lives here in AL.
Libby-so sorry you had food poisoning. It makes you feel like you want to die before you get better. I've had it 3 times. No fun. Hope everything goes through with the house sale.
Faye-when does the Holiday start this year?
Barb-you're a glass making fool LOL.
Dutch-can you tie Ally to the horse trailer to pick up her feet?
Allison-what color are you painting?
Cathy-your DM makes cream puffs from scratch? WOW!
Amy-did you get to see Lukas ridden?

Hi Horse Lovers
Tracking-yes
I just made a good breakfast sandwich for 7 pts. It was a toasted Thomas's light English muffin, with an egg and a Morning Star Farms maple flavored sausage patty (veggie) I just heated the patty in the microwave it was pre-cooked so very easy.
My trainer sent me video of Lukas jumping a small course his first time being ridden here. He went around very nicely. I don't really want to watch him go in person because I know that he has been through a lot with the move from Germany so I don't want an image of him not being himself. I know my trainer would not put me on a dangerous horse so that is not a concern. I love his look so that concerns me a little because I really want it to work out. That makes it harder to be objective. Unlike a lot of the riders at my barn, riding out is important to me. I don't mind a slight spook but if he is a "wheel around and run off" kind of spook that is a problem. I do not mind building up his riding out skills as long as he is reasonable. It is important that he has a nice canter and a jump that is easy to ride. I already know he has good ground manners and leads well. He is 13 years old which is a very nice age and has a lot of show experience in Europe. when I remember back to when I bought Tony (a horse I owned for about 3 weeks before Rueben) I kind of knew in my gut that it might not be a great match but it was not so far off that it was obvious he was not for me. Tony was super handsome also so that really influenced me. I will try and listen to my "gut" if it speaks up. LOL. She may give me some time to ride him on my own and if she does I will try to have my friend out to watch me ride him just for a "gut check".
Really pretty morning. I am going to walk for sure since it should be rain the next few days.
HAGD Amy

AMY-you are being very smart about gut feeling and not being swayed by Luka's looks. the horse i was riding 2 yrs ago spooked and that resulted in a broken hip and wrist. He was a nice horse but a little more nervous than the other bigger horses i rode there but they retired. I think he got more nervous as time went on. he used to stop when scared. so good for you for being smart. BETH-Sunday night is the first night and we go Monday to Temple. Technically it's Mond. Tues but we just go the first day. My holiday harp shows start mid-Dec. but one ensemble show November. going to be a big group of us. We have a senior ensemble and the "newbies" Good luck with the trailer. hope you get the lights fixed.
BARB-lovely photos of the glass works. do you do any jewelry at shows? ALLISON-did you finish the prep work? DUTCH-nice name choice. LIBBY-how are you feeling? CATHY-did you talk to the vet? how's the cat? did you finish the painting of your brother?? They moved the Somerset festival. Same town but different hotel. I'm not thrilled. Guess they needed more space.
they changed the time for spin class so guess that's over. I had about 6 more sessions but they'll credit me so it will go towards the private training. Another friend from ensemble coming over tonight to practice. She's the one I sold my harp to.

Morning all -Faye I will email you the recipe -like i said very easy -no boil noodles and yummy! But it does make a lot! (never a problem as it goes pretty quickly!) I only go to temple on the first day -was brought up reform although our temple is is conservative but the only game in town!
Amy - you are being sensible about Luka -just go with the flow - I'm assuming you had insurance on Ruben? And would get it on him (or whom ever you wind up with?) I remember when I had my show horse & had to put him down from colic -the insurance is what allowed me to get a new horse!
It rained here last night -& they are saying rain on & off all week - to be honest we really need it -DH & I are going to movies this afternoon to see Sully.
Libby enjoy Seattle - never been -good coffee?

Today making soup for next week, it's the Holiday. waving to all. HAGD what kind of soup? The parents are depending more and more on us. I adjusted my life a little to help with my Mom in her last years and I am so glad that I did spend all that time with her, It wasn't always easy but that is OK. It is great that you are able to change things to be there for your parents. Kilns going pretty much 24/7 these days Sounds like you are having a lot of fun with the glass. Are you going to do any "Holiday" craft shows? Leaving for a lesson soon - this is my favorite weather for riding!! How was your lesson? what did you work on? This is the best riding weather! Still need a farrier to answer return a call - sheesh! Are there any other horses near you? perhaps you can get their farrier to stop by your place when they are in the area. Now that we aren't going to the vet, maybe I can go swimming. It's been rather warm her lately, late Indian Summer weather. Hope you get a nice swim in. sorry you had to miss the cream puffs. we do a lot of re-calls & treats! Tundra is such a nice addition to your family and it is fun to have dogs along on a ride. The trailer will be going to WA somewhere near Seattle Good that you have a buyer lined up. I hope the repair is easy. I really don't like the city, yet it is fun to visit once in a while. Got alfalfa for Rosie, she loves it! HAGR everyone! I am a big fan on alfalfa as part of the mix. Hope she does well on it. HAGD Amy

Hi, all! Faye, the song was Erev Shel Shoshsanim. It was the first in the medley. The version the new teacher gave was simpler by far! Sorry about the spin class...you can't attend at the new time? Did you enjoy the class or not? Amy, yeah, it's hard to say 'no' to a lovely face. It sounds like you're going in with an open mind...I hope you have fun in your lesson tomorrow. Enjoy your walk! Barb, OMG...7 shows??? That's a lot of prepping, but I guess it is that time of year. Libby, enjoy Seattle, it is a pretty city (did a trip with friends a long time ago, just site-seeing). I didn't realize you were so close to SEA/TAC. I was supposed to visit my friend in Tacoma in October, but with the way things are with the cat, not seeing it. Beth, yes, my mom makes them from scratch. I used to make them as well...it is a time hog and requires lots of adding in eggs and hand stirring the batter. You also cook them at 2 different temps at 2 different times. And I missed them...she did offer to bring some over but told her the drive wasn't fun. The vet called. I guess there aren't many meds that you can give cats for arthritis. Some of it has to do with what she's already on, and some is there just aren't the meds. She did suggest going to 3x/day for the pain med instead of upping the dose. And there's also something called cold laser therapy for localized areas which the cat has. So 2 options to try the next time this happens Got in the swim yesterday but didn't sleep well. Lots of coughing from allergies. There's also a couple of fires in the area (yes, Barb, actually local this time) so the air quality is crappy. Supposed to be warm today and then start cooling off with rain next week??!!? Cathy

DUTCH-i agree with Beth,, book those farrier appts well in advance if you like him/her. is this the first time with this farrier? CATHY-spin was nice but nothing else works for me for their classes. it's ok, they'll put the $ toward my trainer sessions. and I still have yoga Fridays so it's fine. I learned how to increase the difficulty so I learned things. Sorry there aren't meds for the cat. yes, that's a popular tune. AMY-chicken with matza balls (you know, Jewish penicillin ). and my pot roast is up. and I'll do a noodle pudding. I purchase dessert. BARB-same here, conservative temple but we're Reform. curious how you like the movie. I want to see the Dressmaker. Don't know much about it but looks interesting . waving to all HAGD

I agree on booking farriers in advance! Hence I started calling the day I got Ally! And will make appts at each trimming. This is a new farrier to me. All were recommended to me by horse friends/vet. The one I've booked was acknowledged to be good by the guy that finally called me back saying he was too booked - so that's decent.
Seriously, THAT is a back breaking job! oye!

HI all - got a quick ride in before the rain! For those of you who asked - the noodle kugel recipe -(I never said it was WW friendly - but worth it once in a while!)

Put 12 oz UNCOOKED noodles in bottom of greased dish (9x13 ish). Top with cheese mixture & sprinkle with cinnamon & raisins (optional). Bake at 350 fro 1 hour. Let cool a bit to set. ENJOY!
Hair cut this afternoon then some errands and home -

Hi, all! Faye, have fun in NY. I have terrible parking juju but whatever I have, I bequeath to you for the day! Barb, I tried noodle kugel once since i LOVE noodles. I think I did something wrong (funny tasting) so I'm going to try your recipe! Glad you enjoyed the movie. Libby, you ARE close to 5. If I come up in October 22/23 I will let you know. I'd be w/my friend and her husband as we head to Ocean Shores. Kind of dicey right now, but we'll see how things go! Amy, I hope today's lesson goes/went well! Dutch, glad you finally got through to a farrier. They can be prima donna's but when you get a good, kind one...keep them!!!! Beth, I was surprised as well about the lack of arthritis meds for cats. Apparently they work differently on cats than on dogs. Plus she has all her other issues. She's been good since Sunday, so I guess it's just one day at a time. Watercolor class yesterday. Teacher said she may be leaving the area!!! That's THREE people who are leaving after I got here...I'm getting a complex There are open art studies in October and I'm helping my teacher with hers, so a couple of Saturday afternoons are booked. BUT i get a discount on one of the paintings I like of hers so it's all good. Taking glasses back today and going for a walk. The local fire is still burning but like mentioned, it's going south. I guess they had to rescue some horses stranded in a field, but all are safe. Cathy
