Good Morning Ladies: Another lovely morning here. Cool, breezy, and lo humidity. We had an extra long walk. Had a lovely day with my hatters yesterday. Such a variety of stuff to do and cost nothing--except the food...not even parking since we had reservations for lunch at one of the resorts. We were l2 pooped ladies for sure. Today, Zack wanted to come over. He will bathe all 3 urchins and hold them all for teeth brushing. Then, I'd like us 2 to go to the movies....plenty of choices right now. I never got to see Conclave yet, so will enjoy a review! I doubt that one will interest him.

Note from the best boss ever. I had to look up what a Masterchief is. Those Navy guys speak a different language. (The picture I referenced is the, “There’s no crying in baseball!” pic from the movie. I sent it to him because of an employee who cried whenever she was given direction. Bossman made her cry and he felt awful about it. Then we realized she ALWAYS cries.)

I thought I got in here to post, but apparently it was just to respond to GG's post. Great afternoon of football and fellowship. Our tailgate buddies had to miss because he is really sick. Kansas beat my Tar Heels last night, as expected, but we came back from 20 down and came really close to winning! I will take that at this point in the season. I hope you have had a great day! ETA: It was so nice outside that I had on shorts...in November, in the mountains!

Howdy!
I was exhausted yesterday, just physically tired, and spent the day lounging. I did fetch lunch, finished reading a book, and sharpened some tools so it’s not like I didn’t accomplish anything at all. 😁
My violin skills seem to be coming back, so that’s good. After my 30 Days of Practice Challenge (i.e., trying to remember where I left off a year ago) I’ll make more of an effort to find a teacher. I’m still on a few waiting lists for a Saturday time slot, so maybe that will work out. I wish people taught on Sundays. There’s never anything going on on Sundays.
Today I need to go water the community garden and get groceries. I’m going to make a pot of vegetable beef soup so we’ll have some in the freezer. I’ll also use my freshly sharpened tools to finish a little box I’ve lingered over so long that it has become an annoyance.
Have a great day!

good Morning Ladies: Already got most of my errands done for the day. Got groceries and actually put them all up (which is a bugaboo for me). Nice long walk with the babies in the lovely cool breeze. It will be 86 today, but with our humidity back to low it doesn't feel like it. Kitchen is clean--junk put away..laundry folded and up..RH stuff put away. Now, I need to fill my pills. Zack is having a friend over for the night and Z will be staying Sun-Wed night. I have a great trip planned for Thurs and other grandma or aunt can stand in. DD has lots of double shifts this week. The trip Thursday sounds so interesting to me. Non-Mormons are not allowed inside a Temple. I have even had friends where their kid is marrying into the religion, and they were unable to attend the ceremony. The mystery intrigues me on all religious practices. There is a new one being built in Tallahassee and it is HUGE. For 30 days there will be an open house where we could tour "most" of it...with explanations and info. Two of my best friends and my childhood BFF are Mormon and it has always fascinated me so I am very much looking forward to the roadtrip (about 3 hours there). Zack is doing several jobs around the house for fun money. I am very happy to NOT have me doing it. I seem to be blabbering.

Good morning!
No plans for today. I need to do some laundry and some cleaning. Maybe I will do that.
I need to go out and take pictures of all the flowers blooming in my yard. It's crazy!
I hope you all have a great day.

Greetings!
In spite of being up early, I managed to get distracted by other things in the kitchen and then it was time to get to the fitness center.
Had a good trip to Wisconsin and got my property monitoring done. My iPhone GPS did weird things so the track for the big parcel looks like I was teleporting miles out of bounds. My handheld GPS has the correct track so I'm hoping the woman at the Ice Age trail can do her magic and swap out the track on the final report. I did find 4 hunting stands so documented and reported them. Hunting is NOT allowed property directly owned by the Ice Age trail.
Today is class prep after I pay a few bills at the rental property. We have finished 11 weeks. Less than 5 remain as both of my final exams are now scheduled for the Monday of finals week. Means I can start my winter break earlier! Originally one of the finals was on Friday. I know my students will also be happy.
Have a great rest of your day!

2 more full weeks to get through and then it will be Thanksgiving week! 4 weeks from today I give my final exams!
I'm not ready for today's class so need to get going.
Have a good day!

Howdy!
I definitely need to find something to do away from the house today. I’ve had enough lazy, resting time. I’ll probably go to a movie.
It’s in the mid 80s here. Can we have some Fall weather, please?
I’ve got a whole garden full of little sprouts from the seeds I planted a week ago. Yay!
Have a great day!

Good Monday Morning!
We ended up going to Boone, NC to spend our money where the hurricane hit. It took us about 30 minutes longer than usual, but I'm glad we did. The happiest thing is seeing the zebra that lives in that area. I was so worried that it didn't make it. I have had so much sadness lately, I think not seeing the zebra would have pushed me over the edge.
We ate at one of our favorite places and shared a pimento cheese and pickle plate, as well as an elk burger. It was delicious! One of the reasons I love this restaurant is getting to try lots of new foods.
I didn't end up doing any laundry, so I must do that soon. I need to do more housework, too. I need to leave a decently clean house for the pet sitter this weekend.
I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning Ladies: Mostly quiet and unproductive day. Didn't do most of what I wanted. I did call an appliance guy this am. My fridge is nearly new (warranty just ran out) and the thing is tightly sealed yet has heavy frost in it everyday....and I scrape it off every day. U-tube had some suggestions, but I couldn't get to any of the areas it referenced. Hope most of you have a holiday to enjoy!

Howdy!
I puttered again yesterday. I halfway planned to see a movie but decided I’d rather play with wood and sharp tools instead. After 3 days of semi-solitary confinement at home, going back out into the wild today will be like jumping into really cold water.
I’m really enjoying my new violin. Yesterday I pulled out some sheet music I played back when I was taking lessons, and it went ok. There are a few odd musical notations I need to look up because I’ve forgotten what they mean, but the joy of not having a teacher is that I can play it however I darn well please. The Mission Impossible theme is super fun on violin, but there are some notations I completely skipped over (i.e., “What the heck does THAT little doo-hickey mean?”) Such a renegade! 😝
Have a great day!

Greetings!
I absolutely am in countdown mode now. I finally can see the end of this semester. Only 2 more lectures to prepare for the A&P class. The remaining class meetings are either exams or review sessions. I might actually get my weekends back starting with Thanksgiving break!
One of my students was certain that Thanksgiving was next week. Um, no, pull up your calendar and let my show you why it isn't until 11/28 this year. He was so disappointed. I get it. I'm ready for the break too. I was missing half of my class for Medical Terminology yesterday. Guess they decided to skip it since it was Veterans Day. Whatever.
UPS is delivering my new-to-me computer today and tomorrow they are bringing me a briar-proof orange hunting vest and gloves. My briar-proof chaps worked great on Saturday but I had a bunch of burrs on my vest and my gloves. So I have purchased briar-proof versions of those items. I'll be able to try them out on Saturday as I'm going back up to Wisconsin to do one of the DIY orienteering courses in North Kettle Moraine. The maps says that this course is really only suitable for late fall through early spring due to all undergrowth. Thus I imagine the conditions will be similar to what I just navigated.
Long day today since I have to setup my lab. Only 2 more long days after today!
Have a great day!

Morning.
I looked in here yesterday but didn't post.
I stayed home sick on Thursday. YF was gone so we didn't do our Friday run. I forgot that I had a nail appointment on Friday as well. So my nails are way too long and affecting my typing. I had our hunting weekend day scheduled for Sunday, but that didn't happen this year. Everyone was just too tired. The last couple of days taking over at work for New Girl were predictably frustrating.
Tonight is a concert in Omaha for CSO's birthday. Because of other commitments we will be cutting it close getting there. I'm looking forward to getting out with the girls, but not the 2+ hour drive there and back. We are going to see Jelly Roll. I've heard a couple of his songs and think it will be a fun concert. I need to remember to pack earplugs as concerts of any kind are always too loud for my personal comfort. It has been far too long since we three girls got out for anything.

Good morning!
I did not do much of anything after work yesterday. I should have done my laundry, but...
I will do that today. I will also go to the chiropractor and run out for a gift for a friend. We are eating leftovers all week to clean out the refrigerator.
Not much going on here. Have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies: Did some errands this am before I sit down to play and ignore them again. Today appliance guy may come and I have some phone errands and household stuff to do. I just returned the roomba floor scrubber as it wasn't worth anything on my grout. I had a Bissell steamer scrubber delivered yesterday and will give that a try. We shall see. The other night I used a long handled wire scrub brush in the dining room and while it did a great job it was so hard I had several blisters on one hand and not trying that again. I am having a great time savings appetizer recipes floating around for Turkey Day and Christmas to use for the year of book clubs and parties. Lots of fun. Will be making a Christmas tree charcuterie board for one thing. Zack is doing well here. Has a zoom 3 hour counseling session 3 times a week. Would love to know what goes on at that. I think it is a group thing.

Howdy!
Yesterday was busy from the moment I walked in the door. It was exhausting. Today has to be better. Bossman has been dragging his feet on new hires. I told him yesterday that I’m at my limit and need some help, and gave a pile of work to his assistant, so we FINALLY posted the job that should have been posted 2 weeks ago when the previous person gave notice. He wanted to change the position a bit, which is fine, but dude! I can’t do my job if I’m fighting other people’s fires all day.
The weather people are saying we may have a long stretch of cool weather coming next week. We’re still having daytime highs in the 80s. One of our air handlers at work caught on fire (see first sentence of post) and the air conditioning man is absolutely giddy about winter coming. Those poor guys work in attics and on roofs when it’s 100°+ outside, so I’ll bet they’re excited to not sweat for a while.
Have a great day!

Happy Humpday!
One more long Tuesday before Thanksgiving break. I didn't leave campus until 7:45pm last night so I'm dragging this morning. Lots of models to tag since the students will only have one more lab and then their final practical exam is the Wednesday after Thanksgiving. I'm trying to give them as much exposure as possible so that they all do well.
My new computer arrived but I won't have time to get it setup until the week of Thanksgiving. Today my new briar-proof gear is supposed to arrive. I'll be able to use it on Saturday.
The woman at the Ice Age Trail was able to do her magic and replaced that wonky GPS track with an accurate one. So that project is all done for 2024. I also remembered to send in the form with my volunteer hours to the local chapter. I was late with my hours in the spring since I never saw the email reminder.
Have a great day!

Morning.
*pours ridiculously large Stanley Thermos of coffee*
After 50 ya don't bounce so well. We got home at 130 and I was asleep within minutes. The alarm went off way too early. I have a nail appointment after work, but the New Girl is miffed about being called in to work overtime. It's going to get a lot worse before the end of the year. Sweetie.

Morning Ladies: what a lovely cool walk out in the breeze this am......but, it will be 81 today...low humidity will help and the breezes--they are why it always seems cooler here than S. Ga. We are all still in flip flops and shorts. But, I have bought some fallish clothes in my new size I am looking forward to wearing. A friend keeps asking for all of my old stuff but I am afraid to turn it loose. Got a nice amount done yesterday. Today starts with bills.....

Good morning!
I somehow shut down this tab while writing my post, so here we go again...
I got my list of things to do finished yesterday. I should have worked more on the house, but, college basketball was on and I got stuck to the couch. I actually went to bed early (for me) and missed the end of the game I really wanted to watch. Oh, well.
Today will be light housework and trivia. I found out why there are so many new teams--FEMA crews are still working in the area. I will be glad when they can leave, but will miss the competition.
I am in a "waiting room" to buy Billy Strings tickets in Asheville in February. I know my chances of actually getting them are slim and none, but it's worth a chance. (I GOT THEM!)
WF's mother is not doing well with treatments for leukemia. WF is headed to FL today to stay with her. Another dear friend's mother died this weekend and my friend that DH and I stayed with for the festival in September lost his brother this weekend, also. I have been in a funk since the hurricane, election, DH throwing me under the Thanksgiving bus, and now this. I really need to get away from here, but that isn't going to happen soon.
I hope you all have a great day!

Howdy!
It’s in the 50s here this morning! It will warm up later, but it’s nice to have a tiny bit of non-sweaty weather on my run today.
I am soooooo ready for the weekend. I have no plans, but this week is kicking my butt. I think my vacation is roughly 2 months away. I’ve got 6 days of Amish furniture making school in January.
We may move our office move out by 6 months. We learned that it isn’t as move-in ready as we had been led to believe. There’s 20,000 square feet of space, and there should have been electrical lines run under the raised flooring. SURPRISE!!! It’s not there so we have to remove all the flooring and add electricity before moving in. It seems pretty shady that they didn’t say this, especially since it comes fully furnished with about a hundred desks that raise and lower and need electricity to do it. Insane.
Have a great day!

Happy Friday Eve!
2 weeks from today is Thanksgiving! I'm so ready for an extra-long weekend.
Got my new brair-proof gear so will be using it on Saturday. Just watched another YouTube video about using my compass to navigate. I'm excited to get out in the woods and work on improving my skills.
Have a great day!

Good morning!
It is raining and cool here this morning, just the kind of weather that makes you wand to stay in bed.
Trivia was fun again last night. The FEMA crews are still here, so they were competition again. Next week is going to be 80's TV trivia. I am going to have to seriously brush up on that. I am a child of the 60's and 70's and didn't have my own kids until the 90's, so much of the 80's is a blur to me.
DH and I will go out tonight, instead of GN. There is a tap take over at a taproom of one of our favorite breweries. There will also be food trucks, so it will be a great time. The rain should stop long before we go, too.
We are headed to Chapel Hill tomorrow right after school. We have tickets for a basketball game--we will be pushing it to make it for tip off. BFF and her DH will pick us up Saturday morning to go to the visitation for our friend's brother, then back to Chapel Hill for a football game. BFF lives near Chapel Hill and I was hoping we could get together, just not like this.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!
