Slowly coming out of the fog of my dad's death and starting a new role at work and hope to pop in more often with credits. Why not start that now? 1. Ran 2. Seated breakfast 3. I’m sorry about your loss mare I’m still logging, have started exercising more. I joined a couple of exercise threads to keep me accountable. Haven’t lost any weight. I think it’s because it’s adding my workout calories to my log and I’m eating them. I decided that on Monday I would figure out how to turn that off. Im waiting until Monday because we are headed to Austin and have a busy weekend planned. I should be good calories wise and will do lots of walking in the 100 plus degrees!!

((( mare))) I'm so sorry you lost your dad, the aftermath is never easy. Be kind to yourself. Credits: Been doing well keeping up with my 3/4/5 activity challenge. Got mini peppers to roast for salads. I got my brows done yesterday, I needed to take a step back towards external self care, maybe that will help jump start my internal efforts to get back on the weight loss train. I need to look ahead of me, not bring myself down even further by harping on the things I did to sabotage myself over the summer months. Focus Forward- my mantra for the fall.

I’m so sorry for your loss, mare, May you and your family have the strength to cope with this loss and may he rest in peace. I have been eating quite lightly the past few days (Aug 30-Sep 1). I am at my nephew’s house helping him out during the week when my daughter is working. His wife is in the hospital and he has a special needs son. I will spend the weekends with my daughter. No exercise in either place but lots of stairs here and lots of walking in the house. Ditto at my daughter’s where she has a lot of things for me to do while I’m here.

mare, I am so sorry for your loss. I understand exactly what you mean "coming out of a fog". Take care of you. It is so hard I've had a rough summer with the heart failure diagnosis and all the changes I made. I am SO THANKFUL I had Beck in my head to help me power through the hard choices. The good thing is I am 5# less Labor Day then I was Memorial Day. I have a renewed desire (and feel like it is obtainable) to lose another 5#. That puts me at my happy "Beck" weight I was at for many years. So, I'll join you all. I do IF and have found a standard lunch that is good enough and keeps the sodium level low. I need to work on sitting when I eat. I also need to get real about the emotional toll the past several months have taken on me...

I had a good day; didn't pop anything in my mouth while standing up. Tolerated hunger and kept to my eating plan. I'm ignoring DH eating ice cream. When I got home I took 15 minutes and did a meditation session to change gears after a busy day. Ended the day with 12K steps.

Sep 2- 8: Still eating lightly. No planned exercise except for one day of doing a stretching routine with my great-nephew.
However, I helped my daughter reorganize her kitchen (they just moved), and planted part of her garden - this involved hauling compost and soil to her raised beds and then doing the actual soil building and planting. One more bed will be planted this weekend.
During the week, I am at my nephew’s, helping him out while his wife is in the hospital. We are sleeping downstairs but living upstairs so walking up and down the stairs a lot. Otherwise, it is mostly cooking and keeping the house organized a bit so he has a little time to himself - getting breakfast for his son so my nephew can go to the gym in the am, for example.
Will be back home Monday evening if all goes well.

Sept 9: Went to lunch with my daughter's future in-laws to meet them. Spent most of the day in the car otherwise. Ate lightly
Sept 10: Hauled compost and soil and planted another bed at my daughter's, cooked food for the week for her and redid a lazy Susan that was severely unbalanced. Didn't do too badly eating. Got ready to leave on Mon am but were notified on Sun night that our flight was canceled and we were rebooked on a red eye Mon night
Sep 11: Cooked for my nephew as my daughter was going there to help him out Wed-Fri this week. Got to airport, flight super late, slept meh on the plane. Ate so-so. Snacked at airport due to being bored.
Sep 12: Got home around 10:30, took a nap and spent most of the day unpacking, putting things away and just being tired. Ate lightly
Sep 13: Had to set up a display at the library of my work - took 2.5 hours of climbing up and down a ladder and arranging everything! Did grocery shopping and now am ready to get back to normal. Ate horribly. I was tired in the pm, didn't eat enough for lunch and snacked in the pm.
Good news is that I'm sleeping rather well after not sleeping well for the time I was away. Moving so often between different beds meant I didn't sleep well in any of them. Last two nights have been solid sleep.
Today I get back to my routine, except exercise because I need to work in the yard.

Dear Cyn, Please stop it. You are not happy with yourself right now, and stuffing your face is not helping you face your stuff.
Getting out the size 8 jeans because you are feeling like 10 lbs of sausage in a 5 lb bag in the size 6 jeans is not the answer.
Feeling uncomfortable all the time in your own skin is a really good reason to get back on the Beck train.
TODAY. Make your grocery list now. No ice cream. No white chocolate bars from Aldi. No cheese and crackers. No excuses. Just start.

Where did the week go? I've kept up with posting on my other Beck site, but not sure why I missed coming here. Wait, now I remember: power was out Wed. (utility replacing a power pole) from 10-7. Messed up my routine.

Cruddy yesterday morning w dr appts, but I didn't let it derail me. I did treat myself to Chipotle, but more of a treat that I didn't have to cook for myself. I ordered mindful, healthy choices. I soothed myself by going for a lovely bird walk, and my neighbor/friend joined me. Tracked everything. I'm skipping the soccer pub today, so no potential for overindulging with beer. I got a container of black bean soup out of the freezer for 2 upcoming meals w side salad.
