Mar 3 credits: My sister came yesterday and brought some cookies with her - she can't have them in her house because her son is very allergic to nuts and the cookies are full of nuts. Giant cookies. I had a quarter and an eighth of a couple. But that triggered my sugar cravings and I ate a bunch of sugar at night. It didn't help that I couldn't sleep the night before so I was tired. Mar 4 credits: Got an appt with the doctor, went to see him and he diagnosed a lot of bursitis and other inflammatory conditions (which is what I suspected). But he also said that I was probably tired because the pain was keeping me from sleeping as soundly as I needed to. So muscle relaxant and night and a stronger prescription NSAID for two weeks after which I go to see him. Sadly he doesn't approve of my running - says I should get my cardio by mixing up different things - 10 mins on bike, 10 mins on elliptical, etc. But otherwise continue with whatever I feel like doing. Not feeling particularly great today because I'm sore but overall I feel good that I took some action. I went to bed at 7:30 last night and woke up at 5!

DH had the pill camera yesterday and so had a day and a half of clear liquids. Needless to say, he was looking for food when he got the recording device removed and the all clear to eat. He brought home a slice of carrot cake - we halved it, and he wanted a half bottle of wine with dinner. Wine and cake were not in my plan, hence I went over the plan. It was tasty, though.

Mar 7-8 credits: Stomach was acting up - GI issues and so I wasn’t feeling great. Plus the meds have and haven’t kicked in. Pain is still there though less and the muscle relaxant is making me sleepy.
So no exercise and no logging. I’ve been eating what has felt good at the time.

ermabom, so much! If you're OK with it, what meds are you on? I was diagnosed with UC in the mid 90s. Under control for the past several years. My very best friend of 50 years was mis-diagnosed with UC, later changed to Crohn's. I've seen her through multiple surgeries. She is still dealing with it. So I know a bit about the GI blues. I'm currently on a muscle relaxant and a prescription anti-inflammatory. The muscle relaxant is only at night but it makes me sleepy and tired during the day. And one of them is causing some nausea and possibly some hyperacidity occasionally. Not every day but some days. I see the doc again on Monday.
I slept 10 hours last night! I'm feeling slightly better today but I also think I have a sinus infection because my face hurts.

We're going to NYC for 4 days on 3/22. However, we have been doing so much traveling and socializing, I don't think it's as bad as in the past. I'm trying to bring my meditation practice "off the cushion" more and into daily life. It's hard to remember to do this! I heard someone on a podcast saying he tries to think of thoughts as the waterfall, and he can stand behind the waterfall and just watch it. And not get wet, I guess.
