Hi CJ: It's in the lower 50s - drizzly - cloudy - miserable weather. I'm still by the fireplace, staying cozy and not venturing anywhere else just yet.
DD is on her way home after surgery - with her BF driving her. DC is waiting at her apartment to help get her inside and settled. There's only a step or two to her front door though - thankfully. The Doctor's report was that the tendon was very torn and that it's good the surgery was sooner - than later! But that the surgery was successful! (Thank goodness for that - but time will tell.)
I finished making a big pot of chicken broth yesterday, using a whole chicken. I will be freezing it in small batches today for use whenever we go to visit DD, or at other times. We had some of the broth in a chicken noodle soup with vegetables that I made for our dinner last night and it was delicious - and I still have more for tonight just for us.
I'm wondering whether your not including the extra land on the house sale would change the buyer's price! Have the specifications for the lot(s) size been indicated on the sales contract?
Anyway, I can imagine that time is just dragging for you as you await the end to this long and tedious negotiation. Just hope it ends soon - to your satisfaction.
I've been so preoccupied with my DD's situation that it's hard for me to concentrate on anything else. DH is better - but he's still not sleeping well - waking up, he says, 5 times a night. Visiting our YDS and wife will not be happening this weekend. And DDIL wasn't sure what their plans were going to be as to Easter. They had hoped that we all could gather as a family - but with DD being disabled for a while and DH's sinus infection, it's all been put "on hold." DDIL didn't think that a "visit" from us would work out for them. I told her that just a "visit" should not involve any extra work from her, and that we'd bring a treat with us. Every time we go up there doesn't mean that they have to plan a meal. Actually, my DH prefers not having a meal up there. Wish we could just go up for a short visit, have coffee and a cookie - and leave. But I'm not planning on it happening this next week - which makes me sad - because I love Easter especially!
So, here we are - two idle quilters - due to circumstances beyond our control. Hope we both can get back to our happy place - the sewing room.
Stay well and hope for the best.

Hi busybee - I'm glad to hear your DD's surgery went well and I hope she has a full recovery. I'm also glad to hear your DH is getting better, hope that continues. I'm sorry you won't be able to have an Easter family get together. I hope that later on when everyone is better you can have a celebration. I visit family and we never have any food or drinks, we just talk. But I know everyone is different. It's too bad your DDIL couldn't just have a visit from you and your DH. Your chicken broth and soup sounds good. I've never made a broth from a whole chicken, but I'm sure it's delicious. I just open a can of chicken broth I'm wondering if the just selling the house without the land will be at the same price too! I can't ever get the house buying company to tell me that! They will have to tell me something if they are planning settlement soon, like they said they were. I did a lot of research yesterday and I'm pretty sure that there is no way I can ever sell that land with the house, so I'm hoping the house sale will be fine. Then I'll just have to figure how to sell the land. It was separated from the house and it's land many years ago, but the separation wasn't done properly and that's what is causing all the problems. The land is not big enough to build a house on. Also now that we had to open my father's estate, the land belongs to several family members who will have to be involved in selling it, or we will need to have one person buy it from the others so it's just one person to sell. I'm interested to see what the lawyer says about all this. I'm still not feeling like quilting, but I hope I can at least update my Temperature quilt this weekend. Hopefully we will both get back to it eventually Take care.

Hi CJ: It's a nicer day today - sunny and in the higher 50s - no rain. Light rain is supposed to appear sometime tomorrow. But so far today, it's really nice.
Haven't done much today except laundry - lots of it. After drying, it's all heaped on my cutting table in my sewing room. And, of course, gathering trash and recycle for pickup tomorrow. I'm trying to get ahead of my laundry as tomorrow we're going to our DD's and we'll bring back her laundry.
Our YDS's birthday is today - we talked last night and sort of tentatively decided that we would go up to his place for a visit (he said) on Easter - but I'd prefer the day before because we will be taking food over to our DD's on Easter. My plan is to make my traditional Easter bread on the Friday before Easter, so I can take some to both YDS and DD.
YDS was at his sister's last night for a nighttime shift - and didn't leave her apt. in Seattle until almost 3 AM. And it's a long drive from his home in the foothills to Seattle.
I've had chats with my Cousin - who also took a long shift on Friday to care for Lisa until the night-time caregiver could get there. We also talked with our oldest son late on Friday - which was his birthday. So, we've pretty much covered all our chatting and phoning - with birthdays and DD's surgical recovery.
So, DD is being well cared for. She's in pain but must take Oxycontin to stay ahead of the pain. It's given her some initial reactions but they seem to clear up as time goes on.
I'm cooking simple meals for us - nothing fancy - so I can concentrate on laundry. I take my stool into the sewing room and fold clothes there at a comfortable height for me. And I listen to an audio book.
Your explanation of the property problems is understandable now - with that additional parcel divided among so many others. That sounds so familiar as it's also how property is divided in Croatia. I've signed over my portion of property over to the Croatian relatives, as did my mother and father and brother. I'm wondering if your rights to the land may supersede the all the others since you've lived on it for so long. Here in WA state it's called "Adverse Possession." After so many years of possession (living on it - taking care of it etc., then the property becomes rightfully yours. Just wondering!
Hope you've had a day to clear your mind of all the property troubles and relax for a bit.

Hi busybee - Hope you are enjoying the milder weather. It's sunny and in the 50s here. I'm glad to hear your DD has so much help and I hope she will recover from the surgery with no problems. I'm happy to hear that you and your DH can see both your YDS and DD over the Easter holiday and I'm sure they'll enjoy your bread I don't think that Adverse Possession is going to work for that vacant land, since the estate and Register of Wills determined that it should be left to all my father's survivors. I've only had sole possession of it for about 11 years. The land was created 22 years ago. I'm sure I can work with family to get the land all in my name, or maybe it might turn out that I'm just going to leave the land vacant and it won't matter that it's in 6 people's names. I'm sure I'll still get the tax bill. I go to the laywer this week so hopefully I can get information on options for dealing with the land. I haven't heard from the house buying company or the settlement agency, so I'd really be surprised if settlement is this week, but I guess I'll see. I'm just going to wait to hear from them. I went out this morning and picked up some groceries and ran a few errands, then I went up to my house to check on it and things were alright. I'm not planning to do anything this afternoon, that wore me out I did finish updating my Temperature quilt, but didn't feel like working on the Moda block. It has 41 pieces!!!! I'm finding that I enjoyed the Moda Challenge last year since my life was pretty quiet, but with all the stress right now, these blocks take more energy than I have. Take care

Hi CJ: Clouds have returned and some drizzle now and then - in the low 50s. Fireplace is keeping me cozy and warm right now.
We returned a while ago from visiting our DD in Seattle, The trip over and back was an uneventful and easy drive. We spent 2 hours with her and left at 4 pm. We brought a cute Easter flower pot of Spring flowers, chicken broth and chicken pieces that I had cooked for her, and then I prepared orzo pasta when we got there. She enjoyed it very much. I also took half a dozen hard-boiled eggs for her so she can have that whenever she needs a protein boost.
We found her in good spirits and she showed us, before we left, how she gets in and out of bed - with a foot strap and then her crutches. She's dressed and lies on top of the covers mostly - but it's the only comfortable place she can sit for the time-being. She's ordered a wheelchair with a leg lift, so she can sit and still keep her leg straight out in front of her. Her insurance is paying for it - but it's not been delivered yet. She can't sit on her sofa as it's too low for her to raise herself out of it.
We also brought back her laundry. So, I'll get to that later tomorrow. We also talked about Easter and she was happy that we would come over to visit her and bring her a nice dinner. We won't try to also drive to our son's home on Sunday. I suggested to him and his wife that we could come on Saturday to bring some Easter bread - or they could drop by here - but they haven't answered me yet. It's quite annoying to me that they are dragging their feet on making some effort to come together for his birthday and our usual Easter get-together replacement - like a drop-in visit. Our DD was really surprised about that.
Oh well, it's our daughter who must take precedence right now. And we felt good about going to see her. We left the kitchen tidy for her and did little tasks she asked us to do. We'll go again on Easter and then she needs us to drive her to a doctor's appt. on April 8, since her neighbor who has been driving her will be gone for 2 weeks.
I'm tired now - had a short sleep last night. I hope you will discuss Adverse Possession with an attorney - as I believe it can apply also to unoccupied land - especially if you've been paying the taxes.
Take care - and nice that you did some quilting at least. Not me - my cutting table is heaped - I have lots of work to do to clear that away - and more laundry coming. And I am making little preparations for Easter - even if we're not having a party with the family.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well. The weather here is in the 50s too. I'm glad that you and your DH were able to visit your DD and take her some food and gifts. I'm sure she will enjoy them and she's very fortunate to have both of you to help her. It will be interesting to see what the lawyer says about the land. Really, I would be happy not to own it. It's just more trouble than it's worth I did things around the house today, and just don't feel like doing any quilting especially making that Moda block. I hope I can get motivated to get it done in the next week, along with the one that comes out tomorrow. Take care

Hi CJ: It's exactly 55 right now at 2:30 pm, with the sun shining through some fluffy white clouds. It looks nice out there but I'm still inside and a bit chilly. But at least it's not raining right now. It rained plenty last night, and we have more to come. Just typical for early Spring.
I'll be doing DD's laundry today and continuing to fold the mountain of dried clothes that's waiting for me in my sewing room. I'll listen to my audio book and/or call my DD. She wants me to call her to "keep her company," as she's mostly alone now without caretakers or visitors. But - her BF will visit tomorrow. And she has us to look forward to on Sunday. No word yet from YDS and DDIL regarding visits, etc. I'll make my Easter bread braids on Friday and save a portion for them.
Of course, the quilt strips are waiting for me too, and I may just sit down and sew up a few of them today.
I totally understand that you'd just as well be rid of that extra land. But - don't be too hasty - perhaps the whole parcel, including land that your house sits on, might be redeveloped for commercial use. Then, that land would have high value, possibly! (I'm just speculating.)
We are so sorry to hear of the bridge collapse in Baltimore Harbor - and the lost souls who were caught on that bridge. We've had bridge problems out here too in the past - and the loss of life is a tragedy! Also, the repair of the bridge takes months - if not years. Not a good way to begin a holiday week!
DH came back from his dermatologist appointment today and the wound that we've been treating for 2 months has been declared healed - and good job! So, no more changing of the bandage and cleaning the wound every day. Yay!
So, let's look forward to better weather around the corner and getting back to our quilt projects.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. Your weather sounded nice the other day, hope you have some more pretty days The bridge collapse was terrible, it's so awful when someone loses their life when they were just doing their job I'm glad to hear you DH is doing alright, and I hope your DD continues to heal too. The land behind my house is zoned residental only, so it probably couldn't be used for commercial use. The lot is not even big enough to build a house on under current zoning regulations. The real value of the land is to the house in front of it. I went to the lawyer yesterday and he seemed optimistic that we might be able to solve the issues with the land be able to sell the land with the house. So I'm hoping to get some good news from him. I just have to be patient with this process, but it's been frustrating and I've never been very patient Yesterday afternoon and evening I didn't feel well, so I mostly spent that time in bed. It was good to get some longer rest than I usually do and I'm almost back to normal today. I'm hoping to cut the fabrics for the last two Moda Blockheads blocks, so I can get caught up with those. I think that preparing and cutting fabrics is really my least favorite part of the whole quilting process. It feels like work to me. I also learned to DVR on my TV, a feature I didn't have on my old TV at my house. So I taped The Amazing Race from last night and hope to watch it today. Now I need to record some craft shows and other shows that come on during the day when I'm usually busy doing other things. Take care and have a good day

Hi CJ: Quite rainy up until middle afternoon. Then, the sun came out and warmed us all up - until late afternoon, when the clouds hid the sun once again. It's in the low 50s right now at 5 PM.
The Baltimore Harbor (Francis Scott Key) bridge collapse is indeed a tragedy - on several levels. First, that the Transportation Authority only received a message about the container ship's collision course within just a minute or 2, to warn anyone on the bridge of the imminent collision Second, the container ships these days are dreadfully overloaded - and did not have a tug boat escort - evidently an acceptable practice - after the initial tug boat guided the container out of its moorage and toward the sea lane. Tug boats could have helped guide that container ship safely under the bridge - according to a report I read. I visited Baltimore once long ago with my DD's former FIL. And I'm really sad about the loss of life, the chaos and long-term results of the closure of the harbor necessitated for clearing the debris and whatever will be erected in that's bridge's place.
I'm glad you took time out yesterday and went to bed to totally rest. Sometimes, that's all we can do to help ourselves get back to some kind of normality.
Also glad you had an appt. with an attorney and that he gave you encouraging news. Yes, I totally understand about land that's zoned for "residential only," but zoning codes can be changed - and do change over the years. We are constantly making sure of any changes to city code.
Yesterday, our YDS told us that he was feeling rotten, had gone to the doctor, and was diagnosed with Influenza A - but NOT covid or RSV. So, he's on bed rest at home. And I haven't heard anything from DDIL - whom I've repeatedly asked how she was feeling, etc.
So, we'll be on our own with our DD for Easter this year. I'll cook for her and we'll take it over. Then, we'll return home to have our own dinner for just the 2 of us. I just returned from picking up groceries and now I'm about finished putting them away.
So glad to hear that you can use your DVR function for recording TV shows. That's all we do every single day. We record any programs we want to watch and then we can fast-forward through commercials - or unwanted sections. Hope you'll enjoy having your programs "on tap" whenever you're ready to view them.
I worked on laundry yesterday - and have more to do. But I did get our DD's done and we'll take it to her on Sunday.
Enjoy the rest of your day - and take care.

Hi CJ: The day started out cloudy - but by the afternoon, the sun was shining brightly. And it still is at 6:00pm. and in the high 50s. This is the harbinger of several nice days ahead of us.
I just set my Easter bread dough to rise. I'm making a much smaller batch than I have made in the past - about 6-1/2 to 7 cups of flour - which is the maximum that my KitchenAid Heavy Duty mixer can handle for kneading. It takes from 6 to 8 minutes of kneading for this much dough and my right hand is still quite sore from the thorn prick - so I'm not taking any chances with it and letting the KA do the hard work for me.
I hope all is well with you today, CJ, and that you're being good to yourself and not over-exerting.
I did finally hear from DDIL last night that she had not picked up the flu bug from our son - YET. They were being pro-active though - with using separate bathrooms and she slept separately on an inflatable mattress. DS did WFH yesterday - and wears a mask when he goes out into the living area. His office is separate and has a door. She told me that DS's boss told them that their commercial office was practically empty from how many people had become sick. Appalling really! As she said, they all have sick leave and should use it instead of going into work and then spreading it to everyone else.
We're fine - DD had PT today at her apt. And her BFF came to visit.
I'll fix cod fish and oven fries for dinner tonight. Now, I'll rest. '
Hope you're resting too or doing something that gives you joy.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today and having some nice weather. It's cloudy and in the 60s here. Did you get your Easter bread made? If so, I hope that went well I'm sorry to hear your YDS and his co-workers got sick, sounds like a very contagious virus! Hope you DDIL doesn't get sick. I also hope your DD is continuing to improve and that you enjy seeing her tomorrow. After I posted the other day that I was going to work on the Moda blocks I got another migraine (I've been getting several the last few weeks) so I didn't get to any quilting until today. I made the most recent block (picture below) and I put off making that one with 41 pieces because I don't have the energy for it right now. I'll save it and maybe make it later. I'm only going to need 25 block for my layout and there are 30 blocks in this round. I also tried a layout I'm thinking of using (mine will be 5 blocks across not the 3 blocks shown in the picture). I think the light blue fabric for the sashing will make the blocks stand out better and then I'll use the print fabric for cornerstones and the border. I think I'll make my sashing and cornerstones 2.5 inches, so this was just a test layout. I also updated my Temperature quilt and I'm just waiting for Monday to have the high temperature for tomorrow and then I can finish the first row. Take care

Hi CJ: The sun has broken through this afternoon - though it was cloudy and cool all morning. It's in the upper 50s and a warming trend is on its way.
Your quilt and blocks are just lovely. I love the star block with the pinwheel in the middle - and your colors are "spot on." Good job!
But so sorry that you've been dealing with migraine attacks. Hope you're feeling better now - evidenced by the lovely quilt blocks that you've posted. You're so talented!
Yes, I made the Easter bread yesterday - just 4 braided rounds baked in 8" round cake pans. We'll keep 2 and I'm giving our DD and son and wife a round each. (DS's round will go in the freezer - have no idea when we'll be seeing them.) No word today as to how they're doing. Hope that DDIL has not caught it.
Just had a long chat with DD - she's finally accepted that she's going to have to make the best of her long recuperation at her small apartment. She had a PT visit yesterday, which went very well. She's already ahead of her Doctor's goal for range of motion - the PT was very happy with her progress so far. The goal is 30% and she's close to that (bending the knee).
She wants me to cook some chicken tenderloins and turkey burgers for her so she has some high-quality protein for quick meals. She wants me to freeze them after I cook them. So that's what I'll be doing today for her and take them to her tomorrow, along with lamb chops and a ham slice. My work is cut out for me today. But I have leftovers for dinner - so that's a plus.
No sewing - no time - just getting ready for tomorrow and our trip to our DD's.
Stay well and rest when you need to.

Hi busybee - Happy Easter to you I hope that you get to enjoy some of your Easter bread and that you and your DH and DD have a nice time today. Hope the weather is good, it's cloudy and in the 60s here. This morning I finished making some floating star blocks that I'm doing for my monthly Rainbow Scrap Challenge, so I'm caught up with March now. The color for April will be Yellow, so I'll be working on those blocks in the next few weeks. I also cleaned out my machine and put in a new needle, I hadn't done that since December I hope I can pick a fun project to work on next. I still have several sets of blocks from last year's quilt alongs to put into quilt tops, but I'm not feeling motivated to do those. I sure wish I'd had time to get those quilt tops done in December, but maybe I'll get to them eventually. Hope you'll be able to get back to some sewing soon too. Take care

Happy Easter, CJ!
The sun is shining and it's in the high 50s.
I did not sleep well and have so much cooking to do for DD and us today. I cooked extra food for DD yesterday for the freezer for her to have high-quality protein - chicken tenderloins and turkey patties. We had leftover fish and chips and I made a salad - for our dinner last night.
By the way, the baseball season started - and I'm back to watching our Seattle Mariners on my big-screen. It's a good way for me to relax. I record it and then fast-forward through the slow parts and ads.
YDS is doing better - he slept 12 hours, he said.
Glad you're getting caught up with your quilting projects.
Let's hope April is better for all of us.
Take care and hope the Easter bunny comes hopping by for you!

Hi busybee - Hope you had a nice Easter and that your visit with your DD went well. I'm happy to hear that your YDS is better. It's cloudy here and we're supposed to get some bad weather tonight and tomorrow, but hopefully it won't be too bad. I went up to my house today to check things out and they were fine. Then I stopped by the grocery store on the way back and now I hope to stay in until later in the week. I don't like to drive in the rain if I don't have to. I haven't felt like doing any quilting since Sunday, but I did buy a few patterns yesterday, so maybe I'll look at those. Hope you can get back to your quilt soon. Take care

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. We're getting some heavy rain here today and I'm hoping that the strong storms will miss here. I sewed together a few quilt blocks this morning and wound some bobbins. I also started working on a new jelly roll quilt and it should be pretty quick to make. I already have the background squares of fabric cut and I matched up the strip sets, just need to sew them together and cut them - then I'll be ready to make the blocks. www.fatquartershop.com/jelly-roll-twist-quiltwww.fatquartershop.com/marias-sky-mini-charm-packHope you and your family are doing well. Hi CJ: We had almost 3 sunny days in a row - started cooling down late yesterday. And then it rained and rained late evening and early morning. Today it's partly sunny - but lots cooler again - going from 62 yesterday to 52 today at about the same time. It will continue like this for most of this month probably.
DH and I did get outside yesterday on the deck so he could cut my hair. During the winter months, we use his downstairs office - but I wanted to get outside yesterday - and it was fine when the wind wasn't blowing. LOL
Also, I had a wonderful phone chat with a long-time friend, who lives in West Seattle (where I grew up) and is 92 years old. We chatted about our Easter bread efforts (she's also Croatian) - her bread never rose at all maybe due to poor yeast which she didn't "proof" first; my bread was a much smaller batch than usual, etc.. And she told me how she "hosted" her family at her home (she's a widow) - imagine at her age - with an Easter buffet. She made a baked ham, potato salad, ambrosia salad, asparagus and others brought different kinds of salads. She told me no one else would host any kind of celebration (sort of like my family this year) so she did it herself. Wow - I thought - what an inspiration! And she also uses a cane and a rollator. We made tentative plans for me to go over to visit her, and take her (she doesn't drive much anymore) with her rollator to the Alki Beach area where a paved path fronts the shoreline, and benches are handy.
I'm absolutely going to sew today! And I'll check out your links after I get settled in my sewing room. We hope the house cleaners are coming tomorrow - so we have clutter to pick up too.
Glad that all is well at your house and that you're getting back into your quilting mode! Yay!

Hi busybee - I'm glad you are getting a few nice days in between the rain. We might get some rain here again today, but it was sunny this morning. I'm glad you were able to get your DH to cut your hair and how nice to talk with a long time friend. I admire her still doing things at her age, I guess that's what keeps us going. I hope that you can get together one day Hope you were able to do some sewing and that the cleaners came. I cleaned house this morning. There are a lot of windows with blinds in this house and I want to keep the blinds dusted well since I know how "gunky" the blinds can get if you let them go (learned that lesson at my house ). I still have things to clean, but I got a good dusting and sweeping done. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to the quilt again later or over the next few days. I hope you get to do some sewing too. Take care

Hi CJ: It's cloudy, cold and gloomy out here! We're just staying warm and hoping for better weather in the next few days.
Big problem today was that our long-time dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen floor - without stop - DH sopping up the water while the cycle ran - I was still in bed. By the time I got up, the kitchen floor looked freshly scrubbed - and DH told me the story. And, thankfully, the housecleaners were not here - as they once again told us they couldn't come (2nd time) because of an ongoing cough. We're worried that they may not continue to work for us. We'll see if they return next week. But in any case, glad they weren't here with the water all over the floor.
So, DH found the original sales receipt from 2005 - so the DW was almost 20 years old. And now we've ordered a new one from Costco - not a top-of-the-line - but then we've never bought the high end appliances. It's a Whirlpool, like our last one, and will be delivered and installed next Tuesday, and they'll take away the old one. Yay! It should last us as long as we "last!" LOL
I did finally do some sewing of the strips to make the last blocks for the Magic Quilt. I just have the last section to complete and I'll be ready to cut them apart and go back to working on the layout that's still sitting on my dining room table.
The jelly roll quilt looks easy and fun to make. But the charm pack would be much too hard for me to work with - such little squares!
I'll do a little more sewing before I fix dinner. Sounds like you worked real hard at cleaning those blinds - and very smart of you to get them done "before" they become too hard to do! I understand the problem quite well.
Stay well and enjoy your new projects.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well. The weather hasn't been too bad here, with temps in the 50s but no more rain since that heavy rain on Thursday. Sorry to hear about the dishwasher problems, I'm glad you were able to get another ordered and hope it will be delivered soon. I don't care for those really high end appliances either. The ones in my rental house feel "fancy" to me and they aren't even the top end ones I had to take care of some business with the house sale yesterday and also went to the house to check on it. I'm hoping that I might get things moving along with the sale next week and maybe I can still get it sold in April. I sure hope so. I haven't gotten back to working on the jelly roll quilt. I have days where I feel motivated to quilt and then others where I just don't feel up to it. I'm trying to make myself do some sewing today, hopefully I can. Take care and enjoy the weekend

Hi CJ: It's another cloudy day - but not much rain that I'm aware of. Still pretty cool (even for us) - in the high 40s. But it will gradually get warmer by next week. Yay!
In the meantime, I'm just keeping warm - and I did do a lot of sewing on the strip blocks yesterday. I just have 4 more black strips to add to the two third-sections. Then, I'll sew all 3 sections together on the 2 big blocks and I'll be ready to set them together and do the criss-cross cut - and VOILA - I'll have 8 new design blocks for the quilt top. HOORAY!
We're being careful about how many dishes we're using - got out a big stack of sturdy paper plates. But DH would rather hand-wash dinner dishes than use those paper plates. So, I have no complaints - he's the one who does the dishes! And even our old middle-of-the-line dishwasher lasted well beyond expectations. DH says that the more fancy gadgets on an appliance; the more that can go wrong! And he's been so good at fixing appliances through the years. He just can't get down on the floor and lie on his back anymore to do the repair work.
I hope that the sale of your home moves along as you expect it to. Waiting for it all to be completed is so stressful. How wonderful it will be when it's all OVER!
Take care - and you're doing well to pace yourself - the quilt projects will patiently be waiting for you.

Hi busybee - I hope you do get that warmer weather this coming week. It's been a bit warmer here today and sunny. I'm interested to see how the solar eclipse is tomorrow. I don't have any special glasses but I'll just look out the windows to see if it gets a bit darker outside. I'm happy for you that you were able to work on your quilt and it sounds like it's coming along. I admire you working on such an intricate pattern, I don't have the mental energy for that. I didn't get any quilting done yesterday and I probably won't today either, I'm just not in the mood. Hopefully I'll have a day soon where I feel motivated and I'll get a lot done. Take care

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. The eclipse was really cool to watch - I watched it on TV and the computer. At my house it did get a bit darker outside, but not dark like in the total eclipse areas. I'm sewing together the jelly roll strips for that quilt I started a week or so ago. Hopefully I'll get them all sewn today and then I can cut them up and start making the blocks. I hope you've been able to work on your quilt too. Take care

Hi CJ: With our cloud cover out here - and since we're in the 20% Eclipse viewing range - no perceptible difference out here to us. Many people have traveled to better viewing areas - like Mazatlan, Mexico, etc... Our DS and DDIL wanted to travel to Texas and DDIL started making reservations - but then our son got sick - and he probably didn't want to get on a plane anyway. So, she's disappointed.
So glad you got to see it in real time. I was still in bed.
I'm almost finished with the design blocks - worked on them diligently yesterday - 4 are finished and 4 more to go - and then I'll start looking at the blocks on the dining room table again to start putting it all together - like a maze.
We're making sure to not dirty a pile of dishes and pots and pans - since we're without a dishwasher. The new one, a Whirlpool, will be installed tomorrow.
So, we ordered pizza and a salad on-line on Saturday and DH picked it up. It was the first time we ordered from a well-known nearby Italian restaurant - and we really enjoyed the food. We could pick our toppings and the pizza was NOT laden with red sauce and cheese. And the salad was so fresh and crisp - really surprised me. So, we'll be ordering from them again. Last night we had frozen meals - and I will actually cook for tonight's dinner. But it's going to be a one-pan oven roasted chicken pieces and veggies meal. And we're using heavy-duty paper plates.
Glad you worked on your jelly roll quilt. Step by step - is the way to go. I guess I just enjoy the experience of putting this maze of a quilt together, and remember - I listen to an audio book at the same time. So that really helps to make the journey pleasurable.
Stay well and enjoy your projects.

Hi busybee - Hope you are doing well today. It was warm here today - in the high 70s. I'm glad you've been able to figure out some meals that won't cause you to have many dishes and it's always nice to get a meal cooked my someone else I only finished sewing half of the strip sets together the other day and haven't gotten back to them, but I'm hoping to do that tomorrow. I went out today to run a bunch of errands and I drove to my house to check on it. Take care
