Good morning. Our septic tank is beginning to smell in the bathroom. We put a call in to the septic tank people to come pump it out today. I don't know when they will come today. We had the system put in over 20 yrs ago and it's never been pumped out. I think it's finally time to have that done. That's my excitement for today.
Libby-I think today is the day you have a final talk with your boss? Have a safe trip to AZ. At least you're not going out of the country LOL.
Faye-no orders right now. No special season either. Glad you enjoyed Hidden Figures. I have yet to find anyone who saw it that didn't like it.
Barb-did Tundra enjoy her 'party'?
Dutch-how are you doing?
Amy-glad you had a good lesson. Sounds like both the trainer and Lukas are teaching you new things.
Cathy-are you going to try the skype lessons?

BETH-well, maybe not exciting but necessary. Reminds me of when we were shopping for a house. I lived in an apt. all my life and they kept talking about "perking" I thought they were talking coffee! We ended upper with sewers instead, but I learned what a septic tank was.and Perking. good luck with it.

Hi, all! Faye, glad the 2nd room is going in as planned! It will be nice to have it all done. Beth, when I heard "perking", I thought it was a new "twerking" kind of thing...something none of us would do but seems to be all the rage with the younger set I've never been around a full septic tank, but plenty of camping latrines...bet it smells the same We will try Skyping for harp lessons and see how it goes. Barb, I hope Tundra and assorted friends enjoyed the party at the dog park! Amy, I get you re: the crossed ties through the legs for blankets. That's what I used to do. Sounds like you had fun yesterday with your lesson; I like the hard ones...means you're learning new stuff! Libby, good luck today; one chapter closing, so many more opening up! Hi to Dutch as she breathes... Dinner was nice. Ex SIL was there with her mom to talk about the trip in May. It was kind of weird for me because I rarely see her (brother wasn't there). Big discussion topics: nieces boyfriend broke up with her (she's OK, not too big of deal), how will brother and ex-SILs new boyfriend deal with each other in May (ex-SIL said if they sit next to each other, they may end up friends). Then mom whips out a marshmellow toaster to make s'mores. So...odd. Hope to swim today, or at least walk. Cathy

Hi all, My last post was only partially sent because it froze.
The very first house I lived in as a kid had a septic tank and so did my Grandmothers. Do you have to add enzymes every once and a while?
Beth- are you getting a lot of birds at the feeders? The ponds at the farm are attracting a lot of ducks right now, I guess because they are not frozen over (they were but they thawed).
Faye- Is it the same carpet installer that did the first room? If he does a good job you should let them know. Sometimes trades people only get feed back if there is a problem it is nice to get a positive one.
Libby-I hope your trip goes well! When are you leaving again?
Dutch-give DS and Ally a hug!
Cathy- any paintings in the works?
Barb- Hope your Valentines glass sells.
The snow is really starting to come down and of course I was already planning a food store trip so now it will be crowed. Oh well.
HAGD

AMY-hope you don't get much snow. Yes, same guy and when I gave my card number to pay the balance I said how wonderful he was. And I tipped him both days. I am one of those that don't complain much if bad service (everyone can have an off day) but I gush and let management know if a good job. Nordstrom used to have things to fill out and I would. I once asked a sales person and sometimes they can get a bonus or employee of the month etc. I want them to stay so I can have them again and always nice to pat someone on the back. So I'm with you on that. BETH-good luck with the septic CATHY-those are some conversations. sorry about DN . the smores sound good hope skyping works most thing are back. need to tweek some furniture placement with DH. I couldn't judge too well till some stuff went back. some areas it's actually better but one thing needs a few inches over. putting back what I can. Very happy with it and now glad done with stuff for the house. waving to all HAGD

Looks like we got the septic tank pumped out just in time. It was filled to the top with sludge and it wouldn't have been long before the toilet etc. would have been backing up. I asked about the enzyme stuff and they said it didn't work. It doesn't turn anything to water and just adds to the sludge mess. Not too expensive for my area. It was $275.

Good Morning- missed yesterday -crazy - busy -gym then off to visit a glass friend who lives in MA about 1 hour away -by the time I got home had to take car to dealer for some work then finally home -exhausted!
Beth - that could have been a crappy mess - no pun intended (or maybe yes!) glad you got it all taken care of in time -don't know a lot about septic tanks but 20 years sound like a long time!
Faye -glad they are done w/ carpet -must look pretty!
Amy- hope you didn't get a lot of snow -they are talking some 2-3" here tonite. But then again in the 40's tomorrow to melt -that's pretty much what we've had all season. (I know it hasn't been bad as in the winter if we get too much snow we have to haul manure in a bucket on a saucer sled as we can't push wheel barrel but this year we have only used the wheel barrel!
Libby - safe travel- enjoy the warm weather -how long are you gone for?
waving to Cathy & Dutch - off to the Y for water aerobics then barn to clean (I took the day off yesterday!) HAGD - CBL

Hi all,
I am off just in the morning today so I am going to fit in a ride. We have a little bit of snow on the roads but it should be up to 40 later so it will be gone. I am doing really well with tracking now that I am using the journal every day. I hope that it is reflected in my WI on Friday morning! I don't just write down what I am eating but I put in inspirational quotes and thoughts. I also doodle little pictures. It just makes me much more mindful all day. I have been watching the new series of videos with Oprah. She has put a new one out each week starting in January. She is following the same themes that you would get at the meetings each week. She highlights other WW members and it is very quiet like she is sitting and talking to you, not over the top Oprah. It is like she is a meeting leader and I am finding them motivational. I have really refocused my efforts so 2017 is the year I hit goal. I am tired of not getting there, I just hope I can stay motivated.
If anyone is using the app to track you can see the videos by going to the "connect" page and in the search box put "ConnectingwithOprah".
Beth- I am glad you got the septic tank taken care of in time!! Well worth the cost and you don't need to do it very often. I always used to joke with my kids that it is going to snow so everyone has to run and get French toast ingredients. Bread, milk, eggs....there must be a French toast tradition!
Faye- I am glad you give positive feedback. I try to do that too.
I need to get to the barn if I am going before work.

BETH-happy shopping AMY-snowing here now. I am going to try to do better with tracking. thanks for the info on the videos with Oprah and glad you like your journal! When I went to meetings I remember buying one. Have a good ride. Went to the market after working out and the "french toast ingredient people" were all there., never saw it so crowded. Carpet looks pretty. just need to put away a few more boxes. BARB-snowing now and we are about 1-3 inches today(or so they say). hope you had fun with your friend yesterday. hope the car doesn't need much.
waving to all. HAGD

Posted this morning and my computer froze! Will try again, waiting for my ride to the airport. My boss called me Saturday, said the new nurse needs more training to be comfortable - so asked me to spend some time training her when I get back from AZ. I agreed. So I didn't get the closure I was planning on the job. It will be the end of February now. Wow, a lot of snow and cold around the country! Wave to all! Heading to warmer country

when I got to the barn there was a flock of turkeys -about 10 of them-just hanging around the horses. They are either there or the next field pretty much every day -at one point 2 of them were just walking under Penny! Great de-spooking exercise! haha
Waiting for dealer to call me to pick up my car -it was oil change, tire rotation & some minor scratches (from a friend's dog) buffed out -I had been given an appearance warranty for free when we leased the car so figured why not take advantage of it (it covers paint, upholstery & also got a tire & wheel warranty -both good for 2 years)

Hi all, My computer froze again. Fit in an extra lesson yesterday and it went really well! I didn't tell anyone ahead of time because it seems like when I make plans all of the sudden I need to go into the office. LOL. Probably not true but it feels that way when I have to contact a friend in the morning to cancel plans due to someone calling in sick.
I just wanted to get some skills from Sundays lesson down a little more solid. I will practice ride later on today.

I think it is this site that is freezing more then my actual computer. Faye- I like the short videos of Oprah because she is more like a meeting leader. the longer ones are more about her personal story. Glad you found it motivational too. Beth- Flowers already! How nice! I still have quite a way to go before flowers. Barb- Hope you get the car back soon. That appearance thing sounds like a good deal. Cathy- Swimming at all? New watercolor? Hope kitty is well. Libby- I think you will be able to retire from that place only when you change your name, phone number and move! Can't move now with the new fabulous kitchen in the works! So I guess you will just work there forever! Dutch- Hope you are well. So far the journal is helping a lot. off to the gym. Amy

Amy- is the new computer that keeps freezing? (didn't you just get one?) Getting car back later today -the appearance & tire thing was a "freebie" might as well use it! Glad you were able to get another lesson in & practice.so I have to ask (and if you don't want to answer -no biggie) I thought one time you said you work for your DH who is a dentist? or am I imagining this? if so -yes -being the spouse of any private medical person can be trying -i have several friends who are in that situation and are always "on call!"

Hi, all! Faye, glad all is done w/carpet. And yes, always nice to "gush" when folks do their jobs well! I had to call a credit card co. yesterday and the first 2 I talked to apparently didn't know their jobs. I called again, got things taken care of, and told the gentleman that he knew his job and I appreciated him...it's the small things, isn't it? Beth, who-hee...glad the septic tank is DONE! You shouldn't ever have to worry about it again, right? Daffodils are lovely, spring must be on it's way for your area. Barb, glad you're getting your car back today. I like that "appearance warranty". I don't think they have that out here. Have a fun errands day! Amy, my laptop has been doing crazy things as well. But then I think I've had it for over 10 years. Probably about to give up the ghost. Glad the journalling is working for you...love that you also draw pictures in it! Libby, safe travels...I hope AZ is nice and warm for you (rain coming back in today for a week ). Hi to Dutch! What type of laptops does everyone have? Apple or PC? I have Dell, but was wondering if it was time to move onto something else. Monday had a sinus headache (acacias blooming), yesterday was busy w/ work but did get in a short walk. Will try to swim today. Kitty seems fine And no new watercolor yet...trying to decide...which means I'm avoiding working on my brothers picture! Cathy

DUTCH-feel better. Do you take zinc ? I take Coldeze when I feel a cold coming on. CATHY-I use a PC but got and Apple lap top and hate it. sorry. Mac is a whole new language and the computer and I have never really become friends. I thought it would be better for music and my website but I use it very sporadically. If you speak Apple it might be nice. I have never become Fluent in Apple . BETH-enjoy Bible study? is this a normal daffodil blooming time? Seems early but then my harp teacher's snowdrops came up. our snow melted but it's cold. but not awful so not complaining. Remember the hat you did for me? it reminded me too much of Dorito so I put it away but a harp friend has a daughter that rides so I gave most of my stuff to her. Then I remembered the hat and gave it to her and her mother just said she loves it. Probably looks better on her, too. so Thanks . I adore the harpist and so glad to do something nice for her daughter. BARB-hope all goes well with the car. Glad Dee could pick you up AMY-glad you enjoyed the lesson. Hope things work out in March LIBBY- enjoy AZ.how's the weather there now?
great harp lesson, then acupuncture and ran some errands.
waving to all . HAGD

Daffodils are lovely, spring must be on it's way for your area. You're probably right about the septic tank. My Daffodils usually come in about this time give a week or two. What type of laptops does everyone have? Apple or PC? I have Dell, but was wondering if it was time to move onto something else. I have an HP laptop I bought last year. I hate Microsoft 10 and use Google Chrome most of the time. I have a minor cold, chose to work from home today to spare coworkers. Smart! Remember the hat you did for me? it reminded me too much of Dorito so I put it away but a harp friend has a daughter that rides so I gave most of my stuff to her. Then I remembered the hat and gave it to her and her mother just said she loves it. Probably looks better on her, too. I'm glad she liked the cap.
