Good morning horse lovers,
Tracked yes
Beth- I made burgers and yellow squash on the grill last night. We also had a salad instead of fries with the burger.
Faye- Sorry your back is still bothering you. Sounds like the show was a success. I know you did not think it was your best but sometimes we can be the harshest critics of ourselves. I am sure they enjoyed it. Glad you got some help getting back to the car.
Libby- I am sorry you are working so much. I hope it doesn't last too long.
Barb- Are you back?
Dutch- Busy with the new horse?
I am off to work.
HAGD Amy

Good morning, Faye, it sounds as though your performance was a success! I know I'm super critical of my own performances, so I get it - but I find that I need to let go of all the micro managing of every aspect of the performance and instead focus on the overall arc of it. Don't know if that makes sense! I think the compliments your received speak volumes, so definitely do not discount those! I'm very sorry your back is still hurting. I hope you can find relief soon. Amy, are you riding after work? I hope it's a great one! Did you get a chance to see the Westphalian the other day? Is that the horse you'll be riding this evening? Beth, have a nice walk! Are temps cooling down for you a little? Here in NY it is crisp and cool, then warm afternoons. Love it! I'm going to have to get my steps in this afternoon. After a weekend off, my project resumes today! I'll be sanding all those lumpy bumps this afternoon. I was asked to sing a funeral this morning (nobody I know, so, while sad, not *too* sad) so I'll pack the kids up on the school bus and leave soon thereafter for that. I'll check back to say hello to any others who come in later to the thread

What surgery is Page having? Remember I don't do FB. This is for Libby- to do a quick quote just highlight the portion you want to quote on the person's post. A quick quote button will pop up underneath the highlighted section. Click on the button then scroll down to the reply box and you will see the quote the. then post underneath it. For a quote of the whole post just click on the quote button on the upper right hand side of that person's post then scroll down to the reply box and post underneath the quote. Remember to hit the create post button after you finish typing to post your reply.

Beth, have a nice walk! Are temps cooling down for you a little? Here in NY it is crisp and cool, then warm afternoons. Love it! I'm going to have to get my steps in this afternoon. It was 70 at 6 am with 100% humidity this morning. I pushed myself by walking faster. I did 3 miles averaging 3.8mph. Needless to say I was very sweaty this morning. Beth- I made burgers and yellow squash on the grill last night. We also had a salad instead of fries with the burger. That sounds very good.

BETH-Page's post on FB: Hi everyone! Tomorrow is (I hope) my last surgery in this year long journey. I absolutely appreciate every one of you through this breast cancer fight. You have all made it easier to face what has happened. I will post the outcome tomorrow but having all your support makes it a lot better to handle the whole thing. Love each and every one of you.😘😘😘

Working from home today, will order new gravel for the paddocks. Beth; the neighbors 4 dogs wake me up when they get outside each morning, usually 6:30, sometimes 5:00, it's so irritating! They bark and fight. Have a few finishing touches on the deck to paint today. My gym is closed all week, so I'll have to find some other exercise. DD just got here, check back later.

Hi, all...had to catch up as I see we're doing weeklies now. I'm hoping I can understand how it works but know that I can ask Beth when confused! Faye, glad the concert went well yesterday but sorry about your back. It seems with all the yoga you do, your back would not be an issue. ME, for instance, I have back issues because I hate doing core Amy, that is awesome re: you DD1! Saw the post on FB...lovely costume Alison, sounds like the project at home is going well. I went to the lumber yard today and got a piece of plywood to work as a table on my sawhorses. Ready to start stripping!!! (wood, not clothes) Dutch, hope time with the new filly is going well! Libby, I blanketed because I showed and clipped. Probably wouldn't have if not doing that. Would you blanket in the rain or do expect the horses to come in out of the rain...if they want to? Beth, are you working on any shows? Thanks for sorting out our board for us! Cat seems to be doing well, kind of up and down. Not hungry this morning but I try not to stress about it. No incotinence right now so less stress there. Lunch was nice on Sat, did some shopping. Yesterday was shopping and odd little things around the house. The REAL work starts this week!! Since Libby started a steps challenge today, I might walk instead of swim Managed to get my 7k both Sat and Sun! Cathy

Amy, are you riding after work? I hope it's a great one! Did you get a chance to see the Westphalian the other day? Is that the horse you'll be riding this evening? The ride after work was a nice trail ride on a large pony that belongs to a friend of mine. She has her own place and runs an eventing program there. It was a pretty evening and the pony, named Cheer, was a cute guy with lots of energy. We talked about horses, it was nice. The Westphalian is being imported so he is still on route. He has to be quarantined when he gets off the plane but I am not sure how long. Then my trainer will probably be riding him while he adjusts to his new place. So it will probably be another week before I ride him and only if she thinks he will work for me. Trainer imported him with me in mind but that doesn't mean he will be mine. We are both hopeful.

Good morning.
Did my walk this morning. The humidity was lower so it was a more pleasant morning. Today is DM's b'day and I have got to get her a card. I went to the store yesterday but forgot to buy a card. She is 78 today.
Amy-I'm probably wrong but I had the impression that the horses had to be quarantined 30 days. I've never imported any animals and I don't know where I thought I heard that.
Today we're getting the oil changed in both vehicles. We leave Friday to vend the horse show. I'll be back on the 25th. DH will be with me on the weekends. I'm taking my laptop so I will be able to continue to post. I know I can post with my phone but I hate using my keyboard on the phone as it's so much smaller than the laptop.

Oh, I didn't realize the horse was being imported from overseas! Whoops, I misunderstood. That's very impressive - so does your trainer feel that regardless, the horse will be a great prospect for the barn? How would a trial work on something like that - I'm guessing Westy (the Westphalian) would probably not be shipped back from whence he came (that would be a financial disaster, I'm sure!). Just wondering how that all works in a case like this. I'm glad Cheer the Pony was a good ride for you 😊

BETH-actually Dr. is very responsive and the office is great. lots of cold going around so guess she was busy. by 7:30 AM i had a message that the Rx was called in so I'll get it later. electrician is great too. emailed back at about 9PM last night and coming to day. so i've been lucky in that respect. glad the weather was nice and wishing your DM a very happy birthday! any plans? AMY-good luck with the horse coming in. glad you had some pony time. hope your tummy is feeling better DUTCH-how's it going with the filly? CATHY-do you have an art lesson today? ALLISON-how's the house project going? did you sand it ?
I did work out, we did upper body. felt good to do it. back is better but wish there wasn't so much traffic and I could have gotten the muscle relaxer. just didn't feel like sitting in the car. will try and go later in the morning. HAGD.

I'm going to give in and call the doctor for myself today. My right elbow and both my feet have been hurting way too much. I've gone from my 5 lb weights to my 1 lb weights due to elbow pain and in the evening my feet/heels are so sore. I'm thinking I need orthotics and a tennis elbow brace. It's so fun getting old lol Leaving for horse camp Thursday morning and back Sunday, Yeah! Have a great day everyone!

Dutch, yay! Congrats!! That is so exciting!!
ugh, just started sanding the ceiling - this is going to be a major drag. It will also give me quite the arm workout, ha! Thanks to whoever suggested the goggles/mask - what a mess, all over the place! I'm glad it's not going into my eyes and lungs, at least!

Amy-I'm probably wrong but I had the impression that the horses had to be quarantined 30 days. I've never imported any animals and I don't know where I thought I heard that. I can't pretend I know all the rules but I think it is more like 10 days if all goes well. They already arrive looking a little rough so I am glad it is not 30 days. I think geldings are the easiest to get though but like I said I don't really know. I'm thinking I need orthotics and a tennis elbow brace. It's so fun getting old lol Leaving for horse camp Thursday morning and back Sunday, Yeah! Have a great day everyone! Glad you called the doctor, you are worth it! You just need a little recovery program and you will improve. I agree though, the older I get the longer it takes to get better. I hope you have a blast at horse camp. I would love to take my horse to camp. That is so cool. Faye- I am glad you are being seen also! we are quite the lot aren't we? Hope it all goes well for you. Ally is HOME!! 😍. She's doing great, starting to calm down. Very friendly! I'm in love, but realizing I have a lot of work in front of me! All good tho! too much fun. What are you doing with her right now? Any cute stories? HAGD Amy

Hi Horse Lovers I just heard the basement door shut on it's own. I know it is the change in air pressure or something like that but it freaks me out when I know no one else is home. HA! No riding lesson again this week. My trainer is too busy. They are doing another away show over the weekend and leave tomorrow so I get it. I realize how much I need my own horse because matching up my schedule with friends and trainers is difficult so I am not riding much. My trainer said things should calm down next week and told me I can ride a nice mare named Nyx in a lesson next Wednesday. Faye, I have never taken a muscle relaxer but I hope it is helping you. I am going to go to the gym today and do a workout class. I don't have this months schedule so I don't know exactly what it will be but I am hoping for a step class. My trainers main business is importing horses for hunter/jumpers. Trainer has built a very good reputation for finding great horses and dealing very fairly. She really loves the horses and has a good heart. She is importing this one with me in mind but knows she will be able to sell or lease it if it is not right for me. He is certainly not as expensive as her other imports, she knows what my budget is. She is going to wave her commission if I buy him so that is a pretty big deal. She loved Rueben too and was sad to lose him. I realize how lucky I am to be at her barn. HAGD Amy
