No, no, I'm in the clublet ccToast. I've tried participating in the book club. I even got Lilac Girls out of the library but I just can't read books I'm not in the mood to read. And I'm trying to cut down my reading because once I start, I get nothing else done. I'm the one who read the Far Pavilions in 3 nights. 25 pages the first night. about 100 the second - this was what I told myself I was doing. I read the rest of the book the third night. I wasn't in the greatest mental state the next morning. And I also tried reading a Sayers to relax the .night before an exam. I was all done and knew I couldn't pick up a new book or I'd read the whole thing. So I got a book I'd read before. And read it through till 2 or 3 am in the morning. sigh.... A book club means my life is over - nothing else will get done.

I could see someone like Vanessa Hudgens playing Jackie. She's a little too old (30), but has the look (small, darker coloring) and firecracker aspect. Or hell, put Gal Gadot in THAT role, which seems like a better fit than she'd be as Linnet. She's only marginally older than Vanessa.
And really? Armie Hammer as Simon? I mean, he's boyishly cute, but is boyishly cute going to inspire obsession in two women, one of them who is stinking rich?
I do kind of like Letitia Wright as Rosalie, because I love me some Shuri.
This isn't my favorite Christie, but it was an enjoyable read, even if I was mostly enjoying myself by dreaming of coshing various among them in their fool heads. 3.5/5

I really enjoyed this book and gave it a 4 on goodreads. I’ve only read three other AC books, so I’m not sure where I’d rate it against those- I’ve liked them all. Thanks gemster for leading this discussion. I’ve been so busy at work this week after vacation and haven’t had much time to post here, but I’m going to catch up on reading the thread this weekend. I’m definitely in for a clublet as well!

I liked this book very much and it kept my interest in a great way, so for me it is a 5 out of 5. I know there were things that stretched out a bit beyond my sleuthing skills, but then I didn't write it and I was okay having a new rabbit pulled out of the hat. Even with people I didn't care for, I so like how we "met" them all pretty well before the murder even happened.
Hercule is great and I would keep him at arm's length because you know, death and all.
I will have to think about people to play these characters. I may get back to you on that. I like Jessica Chastain so much and am wondering if she could be dolled up to be a Linnet. Gal Gadot would be a perfect Jackie! Simon would have to be The Rock because I am seeing the last part of Central Intelligence and he has a body that just Does Not Quit. Looking like that, being able to act is strictly optional.
Hercule Poirot, now that could be a hard one - I will have to think on that and a few others.
I love Meryl Streep and I want her to be one of the older ladies - she would probably like to be Rosalie's mother - so much to work with.

I’ll go with a 4.0 as well. I enjoyed it but liked the last one (was the title Ten Little Indians) better. It took me longer to figure out the murderer in that one. Would read another book.

I'm late to this party, and maybe everyone has already gone home, but I wanted to share that I really enjoyed this discussion! Thanks for leading us gemster. Fun chat everyone! I gave the story 4/5 stars, and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I don’t see myself jumping at the chance to read another AC, so I’m only giving it a 2. I’m on Island time this week so I missed answering most days of the discussion but did read through them all.
