Morning, I didn't eat too much this weekend, but I didn't eat very smaht. And I negotiated and procrastinated my way right out of my training miles sonce Friday, so I am again playing catch up. Ugh.
I know I do better OP and mentally and emotionally when I have some sort of goal to work towards. However, next time I suggest it needs to be a distance challenge farther than 10k, will somebody please slap me?

Hugs to all of you! Sorry about the whine, I did have plenty of cheese to go with it. LOL. Sherry, I feel so bad you're still having trouble with your foot. I wonder if it's the placement of the fracture, so that any overactivity in that area prevents it from setting properly and keeps the area inflamed and painful. There are so many little bones down there.

Cyn, is there a 10K along with the Half that you could do?

I feel like I need to see this one out, Pep. I have to break the 3:00:16 time from my first/only previous one.
The last one I tried to do that Sal talked me into, I ended up only able to finish the 10k as I really tanked on training. And it was in the cold weather, which I'm a wussy about.
It's the principle of it right now. I will stubborn my way through this, I just need to stay smart and not rush myself.

Greetings!
Sunday: GHGs - needed more veggies Liquids: good Activity: 23.6 mile bike ride; 4.6 mile hike at Arboretum Calories: green Mindful eating: okay
Cyn - I'm the opposite of you, I'd much rather train in the winter than this nasty summer heat & humidity. Stay smart with your training!
Sherry - hope you get some answers soon on that foot.
ION in less than 24 hours my cataract surgery should be over. If you don't hear from me tomorrow, that will be why. No sedation just numbing drops and Valium.

Regina, I am sending all kinds of good wishes for successful surgery, and speedy and pain free recovery. Or at least good drugs.

Thanks, Cyn! All of my residents are telling me it is no big deal. But I have to admit to being nervous especially after how the corneal scraping turned out. Time will tell.

Good afternoon, ladies! Still heaven here. All GHGs, weeeell, one oil. 11000ish steps. Yikes- Regina, I really can't imagine. Just the words "scraping" and "cornea" in the same sentence is enough to send me screaming. Best thoughts as you go thru more procedures! And how the hell did you bike/hike that far in this heat? Sherry, Cyn is smaht. Millions of bones in there and so many little things to go wrong. I hope you can find another specialist.

Regina, keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow!!! You're a champ with all your exercising. You put me to shame and I'm the one that actually likes the heat. I'm just lazy

Morning, the lovelies!
Mon Liq good GHGs missing an oil and 2 dairy APs yep, did Sat's scheduled long run. Playing catchup again. Grrr. SPs 26/30
I have trouble eating sometimes in the hot weather, who knew? I have to make sure I'm doing fueling correctly with the increasing mileage. It was late when I finally got my run in yesterday, so I had just had some chicken and a banana when I got home.
Sending Regina mojo out there today.
What's pissing me off is that I didn't even go out over the weekend, so I can't call hangover. Just bone idleness and the heat.

Morning! Regina, wishing you all the best today!!!!!! Mindful eating: Pretty darn good. A little snacky in the evening but I earned it. Activity: Triple digit temp run. 102 outside with a 108 heat index. Did 3 miles of trails. I've always enjoyed the heat even running in the heat but yesterday was rough. It was so hot and humid it was hard to breathe. Felt pretty awesome afterwards though.

Good job, ladies!
Regina, I hope it goes well for you today.
We have cold front coming in. The high should only be in the mid-90s for the next few days. *melts*

I printed this out and clipped it in my food journal - From the Beck FB page:
"Monday Motivation: When you’re working on losing weight, keep in mind that the number on the scale is not the only thing that counts; it’s also about how you feel about yourself and your eating. When you gain control over your eating and know that you’re no longer at the mercy of your hunger, cravings, and emotions, you’ll feel GREAT, regardless of whether the number on the scale is what you ultimately hope to see."
That sums up my mindset so well. Feeling in control of myself makes such a huge difference. Sometimes I have to yell at myself (and the Snack Fairy), "HEY! I'M IN CHARGE HERE!!!!"

That's great, Pep. Thanks for sharing. I definitely struggle with that. I'll eat great but won't see a change on the scale and it bothers me. Then all you have to do is say pizza and I go off track again.

Great quote, Pepper.
I remember reading on someone's Maintenance blog somewhere '55 is too old to let myself be controlled by a cookie!' That one resonated. I try to feel like the longer I go between instances of not being quite in ~total~ control, the stronger it's making me for continued resistance.
There's a group starting Beck on August 1, in the Book Group section if you're interested.
I'm going to participate in a discussion of a Willpower book, which I can't remember right now, which also starts 8/1.

Quitting drinking was a good exercise that helped with emotional eating. "I'm in charge and I choose to/not to ________." Also, "This feeling is just anger/depression/anxiety/_______. I'll feel it for 10 minutes and then I'll let it go."
I just need to remember to think those thoughts in the middle of the night, which is my bewitching hour where food is concerned.
Cyn, I saw that Beck group. I may join in. It's good to get a refresher.

I'm home! Procedure went smoothly. In addition to Valium I got some Ativan. Cue pink floyds comfortably numb.
No eye patch! I can see out of left eye and even read text. Follow up is tomorrow morning.

Morning Ladies: Pep, awesome reminder. Good luck with the eye surgery. This is going to be a breeze after what you went through. Drops for so long it really becomes annoying, but is really quick and no pain. Cyn, I think you have the nail on the head for the foot. Seeing her tomorrow. It keeps hurting and swelling and I have been on steroids again and ice and foot up. So tired of it. I do have some good news. Remember when I wore size lX pants (bigger tops cause of my middle, but I was proud of the smaler bottom--cause we have to be proud of something. That was about a yr ago. Then I bought XL and was happy; few months ago I bought L and they soon were too big and I bought l8 the other week and they were big in places (I still need elastic waists). Yesterday I bought l6 and I was sooo pleased you would have thought it was a size 6. GHG's: missing oil & 2 dairy AP's: whining and complaining? water: good SP's: 23/30
