Morning.
Yesterday was lazy. And I could still go back to bed. This 100* crappe is for the birds. Except even the birds don't like it. The overnights have been pleasant though. I am hoping for something with the girls tonight or this weekend. Maybe another movie and there is a community thing called Squirrels Just Wanna Have Fun that we are signed up for this weekend.

Good morning!
Happy last last day of summer for me! I go to work tomorrow to start my very last day of school. I am really frustrated with all that is going on, but I will put my head down and work my 1200 hours.
WF and I are going up in the mountains to walk in the cool air and sunshine, as well as taking in amazing views at the top of the second highest peak in VA.
DH fixed us dinner last night--steak, potatoes with onions and peppers, asparagus, and broccolini. He did a nice job and there are plenty of leftovers for the next few days.
DH has a meeting with a local pharmacist tonight to see if there is a place for him to work for them as their sales rep. He wants to do it part-time, which is probably good for them. He doesn't need to get benefits, so that's a plus. He is well-known in the business. *fingers crossed* He needs this!
I hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies: Bright, clear and sunshiney..little breeze, but that is a good thing. Off in a few to book club luncheon without a book (so more people showup). I'm stopping by the furniture store on the way to have a conniption fit to see if I can get my delivery fee back.

Greetings from Dillon, CO elevation 9,019'
Long story short, I have earned Colorado as a state for my American Explorer's award. But I got a flat on the front wheel at mile 44 and it took nearly an hour to finally get going again as I still was having issues with getting the damn tire back on. But I had a lot of time in the bank because I was riding very strong up to that point, stronger than I have felt in a long time. So I finished with 55 minutes to spare. Whew! Before I left Longmont I went to another bike shop as I needed more tubes and CO2 cartridges.
It was absolutely beautiful starting pre-dawn. I'll get a couple of pictures up on FB in a bit. Bonus was how pleasantly cool the temps were. Double bonus was being able to shower at the hotel before I went on to Dillon.
I'm finding weirdness with altitude. My sealed items purchased at sea level have all expanded! My cousin showed my a potato chip bag that had expanded! No wonder baking is different at altitude. I find I get a little light headed going up the stairs to my bedroom, our AirBNB is 2 levels. But I'm sure I will adjust.
Today we are doing a 5-6 mile hike. Not sure where the shuttle is dropping us off, hence the confusion over the hike length. Parking is crazy for this trail and you have to make reservations. Then a shuttle takes you closer to the trailhead.
It certainly is cooler and drier up in the mountains. I drank so much water yesterday but wasn't running to the bathroom all the time.
More tomorrow!
Have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies: Very surprised to be first with this early bird group. I enjoyed my lunch and then stopped at furn. store. Walked and fed dogs and in a few going to my doc for reg checkup and then to eye doc. I did have an eye appt for new pair of glasses yesterday afternoon at a place that was supposed to be a whole lot cheaper....it was $444. ..instead of about $600--and I had just gotten a $200 refund, so not too shabby.

Morning.
Yesterday was another lazy day after work. I needed it. Work was stupid busy because a green (on my desk) guy kept changing things up at the last minute and then didn't get that it was an issue. I had worked with him previously and not had this issue, so I'm blaming his supervisor making command decisions without knowing how he was affecting the flow. I'm working with him today and we're already years ahead as far as keeping things moving.
I sat out on my shiny new deck last night while Ripley kept going in and out. She didn't want to be outside but didn't want me outside alone either. Silly mutt. I may have some rearranging to do with the furniture to get it where I want it. The umbrella doesn't quite throw shade where I want at various times of the day. The chair I prefer to sit in (a wider, love-seat sized rattan couch) is turned toward the street and two rattan chairs are with their backs to the street completely. I think I want the umbrella to shade more midafternoon than its height and position cover. And I will move at least one chair so that I can watch the street when I sit there.
I'm really excited about the VP pick. He seems like he'll be every midwest dad. I look forward to months (if not a decade!) of Dadjokes.

Hi, Yesterday was jam packed. I got lots of walkabout activity, including practically a sprint w the stroller to the vet's office in that heat. No worms! They took a nasal swab to see if she has anything w the respiratory situation that needs to be addressed. Talked about the teeth tartar situation, I have a finger brush and tp to try. Got food recommendations. Also got some Gabapentan for just-in-case with the Air Show starting their rehearsals tomorrow. Sadly, this morning there was a scooting incident, and I'm still trying to get under her tail to clean. 😢 The Meat Eaters dinner was a success, Erik loved the slow cooker lasagna! He made some charred garlic broccoli and a salad. Sophia ended up joining us, and really liked the Longevity Salad-I had made a fresh batch. I didn't end up using the wild rice because it had some corn-based ingredient which Sophia can't eat, so used the farro again. Now I've got leftover lasagna and salad for meals this week! Also had a nice $5 California cabernet from TJ's August flyer. It paired well w the lasagna! ETA: V, I'm loving the VP pick, too. And, he called out the He-Man Woman Haters Club on MSNBC a few weeks back, so he's golden to me over that!

Good morning!
Happy last first day of school to me! It's already been an interesting day, but I think it will be a good one. Because I didn't do any work days, I am already behind on paperwork. I will have to stay longer these first days to get caught up. The paperwork will not do itself and I don't want to use class time to do things like that.
I already have had to fix a schedule mix up. The guy who is the new dept. chair doesn't realize that I have to be in certain classes, and he put me in classes that don't need me in them. I am trying hard not to overstep my position, but dammit! I know this job!
Tonight, DH and I will return to trivia! I hope we have another run of luck!
I hope you all have a great day! .

Greetings!
Survived my first hike in the mountains. It was challenging in some sections, certainly not like anything I've hiked on other trails before. Parts of the trail were listed at 38% incline. Yes, I agree with that. But it was beautiful! And there were wildflowers all over the place even though it is past the peak of the season for them. We didn't hike as far as we originally planned because my cousin wasn't liking the looks of the sky when we got to the first lake. I was fine with turning around. Descending was much easier than ascending even with some of the very rocky areas to navigate. I could actually hold a conversation on the way down. On the way up, I was very quiet as I couldn't talk and breathe at the same time.
Today's hike will be much longer but at lower elevation and hopefully not as challenging of a trail. Looks like the steepest parts might only be 16% which would be a nice change from 38%. We both want to do the full trail today so our motto is "Willow Lake or Bust!". We are starting crazy early to make sure we finish up before the afternoon storms. I posted a picture on yesterday's FB post of what the sky was looking like as we were coming back into Dillon. I certainly don't want to be up in the mountains in conditions like that.
Have a great day!

Howdy!
I really like the new lady. She’s very smart and doesn’t need handholding. After just two days on the job she has taken some big things off my plate. I feel like I’m going to have some breathing room soon. Yay!
Class this week was good mostly. The reason things go so slowly is that we spend most of class waiting in line to use the machine that’s needed for each step. Plus there are a couple of people who Do. Not. Listen. Everrrr. One of them seems to be an absolute idiot. She’s also rude and will hoard tools as she works and not let anyone use them. For instance, she will have tools a, b, and c on her workbench while she uses tool d. Someone asks, “Can I use tool b for a second?” She says, “No.” She obviously flunked sharing in kindergarten. Since she doesn’t pay attention, she tends to break things because she doesn’t use them properly. The guy who teaches the class is a saint, I swear.
I don’t have any huge plans over the weekend. There’s a hand plane demo at a woodworking store that will get me out of the house for an hour or so.
I think I have turned into an extrovert for real. It’s so odd. I’m moody and cranky until I get some social interaction, then I feel much better. What an odd change.
Have a great roasty toasty day!

WI Day-down a pound! Finally. July was a total stall, but also not a gain! I took a DOR yesterday. Between dealing with the scooter in the early a.m., and my recovery from the vet trip/stress and the meal prep Tuesday I needed a break. I did assemble the pet scratching tree I got last week, but I had trouble getting the actual scratcher part situated so I'm just going to return it to Aldi this morning. I had a few other items to return, and am hoping the stuff I wanted from the special buys are still left. I just couldn't get down there yesterday. Roses is back! We're planning on RosesWalk tomorrow, if she's up to it 💃woo hoo!

Good Morning Ladies: Yesterday was dr (good reports and weight down--10 lb in 3 months--so slow but awsesome) and eye dr (good reports) and gas--then a nap; then laundry. Today is several of us going to lunch pre-theater; the a musical about 70's music (I'll love that); then if we want we will stop for coffee/tea/dessert.

Good morning! Dang if I am not already behind! I have 3 IEPs to write very soon. One was due in JULY and no one took care of that. This is a student who was not on my roster at that time. Also, if he had been, the IEP would have been done in May before we left for the summer. This place is going to miss me when I'm gone! DH and I didn't do as well in trivia as we should have. That's fine, it's still lots of fun. The place was crowded for the first time in a long time. I love that! GN tonight. How many will show up? Probably just three of us, but that's ok. The place has a wonderful smoked trout dip that may be my dinner. I am not a fish eater, but I really like that dip. Maybe I will branch out and get something different. I'll just have to see what I'm in the mood for. Cyn talking about her WI reminds me that I keep forgetting to WI. I will need to put it on my calendar like I did before. I hope you all have a great day!

Morning.
Last night was a much-needed massage. Then BBQ afterward. I was so worn out after the massage that I went to bed early.
Rain this morning here, so it's much cooler. The concrete guy can't really get started until it's dry enough. Although the digging will probably be easier because of the rain loosening up the soil.
I don't know what's in the works tonight. I might be able to get to the movies with the girls. This weekend is the local GN evening shopping event. This time of the year I really miss my friend that passed from Covid. Her birthday would have been Saturday. Every couple of days I still see something I wish I could share with her.

Good Morning Ladies: Yesterday was fun. Lunch/brunch was 1 biscuit and gravy. But, it was so hard you could barely but it with a knife and I thought it tasted "off/strange". I sent mine back and didn't really want anything else. ONe of my friends did the same. Since I had ordered water with lemon I had $0 breakfast, but I gave her a tip anyway. Play was magnificent. I remembered every single song!!! I was hungry so got some peanuts and a drink. We stopped after the play and I had tea and a oatmeal cookie. Today is a fab red hat day and lunch. Shopping and lunch with 8 silly women...what could go wrong!!

We are in Air Show hell. They had NOT reported rehearsals for yesterday, only Friday. Fuckers. Things were ok early on, but the the literal big guns came out and we spent almost an hour hiding in the bathroom together. It was just awful. It's going to be the longest weekend. I'll give her a gabapentin a bit later, and pray that she'll eat it in a pill pocket. ION, all good w the overnight litterbox usage, no signs of scooting! (I can't believe I am having to do pewp safaris again. Sigh) I do hope I hear from the vet today about her respiratory situation, she is still snuffly. It's gorgeous out here today. I'm pretty angry I will be trapped inside, potentially w closed windows. Yest GHGs yes Tracking yes Activity yes Liquids good ETA sherrydorlando I'm so glad you had a great time w the musical!

Good Friday morning!!!!
I took my time getting to work today. Technically, I don't have to be here until around 9:00, but I would never get anything done if I don't stay later, or come in when the school starts. I may do my Fridays like this every week.
GN was fun, but my dish was disappointing. I ended up getting the trout dip, which was delicious. However, they served it with a couple of baby carrots, some celery sticks, and cherry tomatoes. We are in prime vegetable season and I got the vegetables you would get a BWW with your wings. Blech!
We have no plans for the weekend. I would like to go listen to some music tomorrow night, but I haven't talked to DH about it. I'm sure we'll get into something.
I hope you all have a great day!

Greetings!
Yesterday's hike was magical! However we were exhausted when we got back to the Airbnb and we were both in bed early. It was hard to get up at 4:30am this morning so that we could do another hike. Thank goodness it was only 3 miles long today as compared to almost 13 miles yesterday.
I have a bunch more photos to process from today but just got the photos up of the mama moose and her 2 little ones. We did NOT try to get closer and stopped on the trail for awhile to make sure that they were moving away from us. We both know that moose can be very aggressive.
I'm feeling good with the hikes thus far. Tomorrow is the big test as we will be going up Quandary, one of the 14ers. We are leaving the Airbnb at 3:00am (ugh) so that we can be sure to be back below treeline before the afternoon storms rolls in. It is currently raining on and off here. Glad we did our longer hike yesterday as we would been caught in the rain if it was today. I just heard some thunder. Glad we are safely back for the day.
Have a great day!

Greetings!
The big day is here. I'm very sure that I have never gotten up this early, 1:30am, for an outdoor adventure although DH & I might have gotten up at 1:30am when we were on our honeymoon in Maui as we were doing the bike down Haleakala. You had to leave so early as the point of the tour was to see the sunrise first before coasting down the mountain.
I'm looking forward to not having to get up at any particular time tomorrow!
Have a great day!

Yesterday was a 12+ hour work day, but I did what needed to be done so I that I don’t have to have a thought in my pretty little head all weekend. 🤓
I really would like to go to a movie. Why aren’t there any good ones? The theater near me has 20 screens but nothing I want to see. There are offerings in Cantonese, Telugu, and Hindi. I wonder if that’s where they hide all the good movies.
And why do our summers have to be so hot that we can’t do anything that’s not air conditioned? It’s supposed to be 102° or 103° today.
Have a great day!

Good morning!
I woke up, read, and fell back asleep. I love the weekend! Now I will spend the next few hours watching USA women's soccer in the Olympics. I have really enjoyed watching this team.
DH and I will go out for Mexican food and music tonight. The music is in a refurbished theater in a small town near us. We both are looking forward to seeing the music there.
I may watch the second half watching soccer in my room and folding clothes. I really need to get my stuff together so I can readily get it together in the mornings.
I hope you all have a great day!

Greetings!
I made it up to the top of Quandary mountain, 14,272' (the official elevation changed when they rescanned the peaks with Lidar). We started at 3:33am and finished almost 9.5 hours later. It took us 4.5 hours to ascend and 5 hours to descend, roundtrip from parking area was 7.3 miles, 3,450' elevation gain. Honestly, the descent was harder because the trails were getting so crowded and we had to keep stepping off the trail (uphill has priority over downhill). It is also very rocky so you are constantly having to watch foot placement, unless you are part mountain goat (some people just seemed to dance down the rocks). Those damn rocks caused me to fall twice on the descent. I have a bruise/scrape on my left forearm and I also got jabbed in the side lower back by a pointy rock. There is no mark on my back but trying to roll over in bed is uncomfortable. Talk about having the wind knocked out of you when that happened - my feet slipped out from under me and my back took the impact.
I had no issues with the altitude at all. I was more annoyed by the rocks and the poorly defined path especially the last very steep part. But the views were spectacular. I'll get pictures posted later today but first I'm going to head out for a bike ride around the reservoir before the bike paths get too crowded with amateurs. On our drives back from the hikes, we have passed portions of the path I will be riding and they get so crowded. You all know how I feel about crowds.
Have a great day!
