Hi, Yesterday was a better day in Air Show Hell. Queenie knows she's safe with me here, and didn't run off to the bathtub! She even un-velcroed herself from my lap later in the day, and had a snooze in her chair napling spot.

Good morning!
We got to go see our friend play music last night. It was a small crowd, but (mostly) a good one. There was a person that had a couple too many drinks and would not shut up. Our friend likes to tell stories about his songs, and this person kept interjecting during his stories and songs. Luckily, someone got her out before the end of the show.
I am watching the USA play basketball, and then we are heading out with the dogs. Where? No idea. I hope the women get it together and play better the second half.
I hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies: Just barely, but have been working on my internet for ages. New furniture came yesterday. They moved those two big items. I moved everything else in the house to "change it up". Then moved it all 4 more times. I made the mistake of moving the tv and had 307 wires to reconnect. Back and shoulder are angry. Eventually had the help of a very patient lady at Spectrum and she determined we had a storm and power surge during the night and it was not me....LOL. The tv is still not quite right as I am having trouble changing the remote..as the old wasn't working either. Anywho. Leaving in a bit for lunch out in Mt. Dora (cute touristy town) and to see a play (Damn Yankees)_. Probably 50 years since I saw it. Lots to do when I get back.

Greetings!
I got rained on during my 19 mile ride yesterday but by the time I was finishing the loop, the sun had come out and the wind had picked up so I was dry. Felt like I had been through the wash cycle though. It wasn't heavy rain, just annoying rain. It really was a lovely loop so I plan to do it again on Wednesday and will add on an out-and-back down to Copper Mountain to give me about 43 miles.
We also checked out where the trailhead is for today's hike and did a 1 mile hike. Looks like it will be a lovely hike, probably about 7 miles with only 1,500' of elevation gain.
My body is recovering from the rocks of Quandary. There are only certain twisting motions that are uncomfortable.
Given that today is Monday, that means my fun will be over this time next week as I will be back to work. I'm really not looking forward to it. But I do look forward to seeing my kitties again, and even DH! This will be the longest trip I have ever had away from home. I am starting to miss some of my usual routines.
Have a great day!

Morning.
I realized that I forgot to check in yesterday. The weekend with the GN was lovely and we did toast to Jen. I won a couple of small door prizes throughout the night (a $50 gift card, a bandana, and a Christmas tree decoration). By the time we were done with the boozy shop crawl, we were all just smashed enough that driving YF the 10 miles to her house was left to MG & CSO's DH. They don't talk much and I guess it was pretty uncomfortable for MG to spend so much time with him. So he groused a little, but everyone got home safe.
Work was pretty mellow yesterday and afterward YMV joined YF & her DH & me for Deadpool and popcorn. I got out to late evening yoga with my neighbor at the manicurist's place. And not much else after that.
YF & CSO have our races planned out for the rest of the summer: a 5k next weekend, a 5k in Manhattan the week after that. There's a 5k race on our trail in Sept, and a half that is a relay (my leg is 3.5mi which is a little more than 5k) in Salina at the beginning of November. The relay for the girls is 4 and 5 miles each, so I will probably have to work my way up to that with them as they train. G is doing the half on her own. All of them have been killing it at completing distances. Several of the races will have members of our groups that are acquaintances, but not in our immediate group of 4 as well, so even with the traveling to other places, there will be lots of familiar faces.
The weather here has been unbeatable for Kansas in August. High 60's overnight and no higher than 80 ish throughout the day. Amazing. But not summer in Kansas weather. Climate change is a hoax myazz.

Good Morning Ladies: Yesterday was an awesome play with lunch at Miller's Ale House. I saw the movie probably 50-60 years ago and didn't remember a thing. But, during it I recognized several of the songs that became popular because of it. Today I am not as stiff. Need to hit a couple stores and some things in the house. Have a great day.

Good morning!
I got to work and hit the ground running. This is the first moment I have had to check in. I did get started on three* IEPs. Well, I talked to the parents of two of the three. *While I was working on the third student's stuff, he disappeared off of my computer. It seems that he transferred schools at the same time that I was working on his stuff. Oh well, one less IEP for me!
After the stressful USA women's basketball game--it was a nail biter!--we took the dogs to one of our favorite places where the pups can sit outside with us. DH got a salad with turkey and roasted Brussels sprouts. I got a chickpea burger. I am going to try to replicate that at home. It had scallions in it, as well as garlic.
We are going to eat up what is in the refrigerator the next couple of days--salad, leftovers, sandwiches, etc. I need to eat more vegetables, so this will be a good way to do this. I will get to the FM tomorrow after work and get some green beans and other veggies.
I hope you all have a great day!

Very late check in. Sunday tracked and ate sensibly. The last day of the Air Show went fairly well. It is truly humbling to know how this sweet cat already trusts me to protect her from whatever it is making the big noises. She stayed pretty close, but was able to snooze again and wasn't as high alert. TG it's over for a year. Now we just have the normal daily garbage trucks, dumpster lids slamming, construction drilling upstairs and outside, and of course the grass mowing and sidewalk blowing. Big city symphony. ETA I miss the Morningstar Mediterranean Chickpea Burgers so much since they discontinued them. newmoose I'll be interested to hear your take on recreating the one you had.

Greetings!
Up stupid early again since we are going to attempt Mt. Elbert which is south of Leadville. It is over an hour drive to the trailhead. Not sure if we will summit since the weather forecast is iffy.
Yesterday's hike was lovely, Herman Gulch. Overall, that has been the best hike thus far. Pictures on FB.
Tomorrow will be a long bike ride.
Have a great day!

Howdy!
I’m still in a funk. I don’t know whether I need a life adjustment or a meds adjustment. I’m going to talk with my doc; I can’t stand being so sad for so long.
Furniture school is tonight. Maybe we will finally finish our tool boxes.
Have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies: Yesterday was work in house, plants, RH paperwork, bills, Publix and Aldi. Then, I am getting short of breath not doing my water aerobics (always raining or cloudy or lightening seems like....Anyway, I have high ceilings, so about 1.5 floors of steps. I went up 7 times and down 7. Will try to do that twice today. I have no idea why, but I woke up at midnight and never could get back to sleep. 2 hours are not going to cut it. Luckily nothing is scheduled for today.

pepper, I hope your Dr can help you find some balance. Yesterday was a good day. We had Roseswalk, and she got to come up and meet the new girl! She brought me a lovely handworked bowl made by a guy from her DH's town, made from a local tree. He taught himself woodworking from YouTube videos when he retired. There were a lot of big water birds swooping and swimming and fishing around North Pond yesterday, it was lovely to get back out there. There were 2 Great Blue Herons doing amazing flight ballet-that's the kind of air show I prefer. I finished making The Salad, paid credit card bills, and made some lists. I need to do some walking errands today, it's lovely out so I'll do the further away errands.

Good morning! Today is Tuesday, and I didn't have bus duty this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved that! Other than work, I did nothing yesterday. DH had errands to run and was really late getting home. The dogs were crazy wondering where he was. They sure do love him--me, too, but Jordan, especially, loves DH. The only plans today, other than work, is to stop by the FM for some green beans. I will fix those for dinner. I may also buy a loaf of bread, if I see one, so we can have more BLTs. Getting used to the grind of work is boring. I hope you all have a great day!

Greetings!
Today is our day of rest from hiking, thank goodness. Yesterday was really hard. I posted pictures and commentary on FB. Tomorrow will be our last hike on the Colorado Trail Section 7. It will be 14 miles long. My cousin promises me that I will enjoy it. Still has a lot of climbing but I think we only get to 13,000 feet. It is a point-to-point hike so we will stage cars so that means yet another stupid early alarm. I'm ready to be back on my own schedule as I don't get up quite this early for my regular adventures.
Today I'm going to ride the bike paths that I did on Sunday plus add in the spur down to Copper Mountain.
Have a great day!

Morning.
I'm tired. This grey weather is affecting me although I have been enjoying the cooler temps.
Sunday's yoga session worked our core enough that I'm still feeling it 3 days later.
Dad stopped by to check out the deck progress last night. The patio is poured and the deck guy should be by this morning to put the stairs back on after trimming them to fit the modified space (the patio pour went differently than deck guy had in his mind when the concrete guy scoped out his part of the project). Because the patio is so much higher, there will need to be dirtwork done to build up the level of the yard surrounding the slab. Dad says that he can move the dirt but won't be available to do that until November because of harvest. Keep in mind that Dad turned 87 on the 6th. To make the grade of the yard properly sloping and fix an issue with the rose bushes, I will have to dig up the three roses that the former owner had planted and move a 4-brick high garden wall (about 50 10# pavers). That way we can adjust the height of the ground level against the foundation of the house. There are several small half wide bricks under a water spigot that I will want to dig up from their current spot and re-lay to prevent erosion and a permanent mudhole in that spot as well.
All in all, it is doable but going to take a lot of elbow grease that I just haven't had in me up to this point this summer. Once I finished painting the house, everything has come to a standstill in my brain and body. I literally haven't even cleaned up the supplies I used to paint. Just last night I put the big ladder away while MG was mowing. I looked at the mower shed at the far edge of the lot and the other shed last night while I was checking out stuff with Dad last night and just had the biggest wave of dread as I realized all that I still have to accomplish. Eating that elephant is paralyzing me right now. I need to find a good reset. What do you do when you are faced with seemingly unsurmountable lists of things to accomplish? I mean, I ~know~ that I just need to do it. But finding a starting place...

Good morning! I got my green beans yesterday and they were wonderful! I also cooked a zucchini that was on its way out, sliced a tomato, thawed some corn on the cob, and reheated four boneless wings (two each). It was a delicious dinner! Tonight DH has a meeting and won't make trivia. I think I am going to go on my own. I need to refresh my knowledge of history and current events. I am trying to get caught up on things here and work. I really need to stay after school to do some things, but I am not supposed to. I think I will skip class tomorrow and one day next week to finish some IEPs. I remembered to WI today, after putting it on my calendar . I am holding steady, even with a couple of weeks of not so great choices. I am pleased with that. I hope you all have a great day!

V, can you make a list dividing tasks into degree of difficulty, and allocate some of them to YMV to accomplish? Smaller bites of the elephant?

Howdy!
My mood was much better today. I slept in, then worked from home because Mom had a doctor appointment. Mom had a doctor appointment because she has had lots of headaches and been feeling awful. Turns out she’s been feeling awful because she stopped taking one of her meds. She does this about once a year.
We finished our Japanese tool boxes last night. They look pretty rustic. We used hand forged nails, which look very cool if you’re into that sort of thing, but otherwise they just look like nail heads. I would like to make one that’s pretty, so maybe I’ll start on that this weekend.
One of our community garden people who takes care of a “pantry plot” (a plot where all that’s grown goes to the food pantry) isn’t able to do it anymore, so I’m taking it on. That will give me some incentive to get myself over there.
Have a great day!

Greetings!
Yesterday's bike ride was lovely. Pictures on FB. Summit County really has done a nice job with their bike trail system. I think this was the prettiest route I've ever ridden.
We will be hiking today. Not sure exactly where as the weather is messing with us. I think we can do our original plan of a point-to-point hike but I'll see what my cousin thinks.
I will be going to Rocky Mountain National Park tomorrow to hike! I figured out that there was a hiker shuttle from Estes Visitor Center and managed to score a ticket that became available overnight on the 9am shuttle . You can enter the park without a pass before 9am so I will leave early from Dillon, enter the park from the west end and drive to the east side to park and get the shuttle. It takes over an hour to drive from the west side to the east side. Good thing I'm a morning person!
Have a great day!

Good morning!
This week has flown by! I am enjoying my classes. The students are all great and, of course, I love teaching math.
I have two IEPs to do, so I am skipping a class today to get one done and the other started. I am not supposed to stay after school to do anything, so this works for me. It's the class that I am needed in the least.
I came in second in trivia last night. DH's meeting went well. All in all it was a great evening.
GN tonight is going to be at a rooftop restaurant. The weather is going to be perfect for this and the sunsets from the roof are amazing!
I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning!
Where is everyone? I am never the first one here!
GN was lovely. That rooftop has the best views and sunsets. I shared a pizza with another person. It had pulled pork and spicy pickles on it. It was not as good as I thought it would be, but it was good. I have plenty of leftovers.
No plans for this evening, but I am sure we will find something to do. I keep looking for some music, but haven't found anything I want to hear. Tomorrow we are meeting college friends for a fun afternoon. I hope the rain holds off so we can enjoy the outdoors.
I hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning: Tonight is our first Magical Dining and it is at a wonderful old hotel in Winter Garden. I found a swanky shirt in my closet that hasn't fit in about 4 years. Maybe a little too dressy--but I am celebrating.

Long day but a good day. I’m now in Kimball Nebraska. Getting out early tomorrow for my bike ride before heading further east before spending another night before the last push home.
I’ll try to catch up either tomorrow night or Sunday morning.
