Luv, we did the upgrade when we went to Germany as well. Well worth the extra $$!
Caryn, welcome home! Take it easy and let your body catch up. It may take more than a day even but you'll get back to normal again. Well worth it to have that experience though, don't you agree?
Peg, enjoy your outing!
RV, enjoy your guest for however long she stays. It's hard when you'd like to have her other half as well but IIWII and we can only hope she is happy, and he took.
Gina, did DH get everything taken care of at the rentals? Wow, it's amazing there is that much going on there to have to worry about. I guess that's why they say insurance likes knowing rentals are occupied rather than vacant to keep the homeless from taking over or damage being made to the property. I'm suspecting it isn't really in a "bad" area either but those folks seem to know how to survive without rules.
DSIL just called asking if I had soup! I had thought maybe they didn't need it but she was all for it and yes, I have enough for them as well (since we ate it last night). Her DH is in town so he'll stop by to pick it up along with what's left of our overnight sourdough drop biscuits and a couple of slices of the sourdough banana bread (for her only)! DBIL can't stand bananas and she is limited in what she can eat so she requested it be labeled as hers only! LOL She said they ate the crap out of the hamburger steak in the gravy and mashed potatoes. So glad they've been without her cooking long enough I'm not being judged! Since I just sent all the soup away and biscuits, I found pinto beans and have a slice of ham so will make ham and bean soup for us next. I also found ravioli in the freezer and frozen bread rolls so those are thawing and will be made for dinner tonight. The soup will be for tomorrow I think. DH may be disappointed the other soup has "left the building" but am sure he'll get over it as he did with the hamburger steak.
DGD had a science lesson this morning when she was feeding the sourdough starter. She began asking questions so we looked up the hows and whys and for how it was discovered and when. I took a photo of it as it's growing like crazy so I'll send it to her phone so she can see how it's grown! I made overnight sourdough drop biscuits, baking them off this morning so she was a willing tester and gave them her approval but asked if I could add cheese next time. Why, I think that might be possible so will need to give it a try, maybe tomorrow morning since we now have none left! She also finished the last slice of sourdough bread I had left! At least I don't need to worry about who's going to eat this stuff!
I told DH I may go to Janesville today or tomorrow as I'm in dire need of a pedicure and could return the crocs I wasn't fond of to the UPS store and make a stop at Kwik Trip there to see if they have my Fresca for the extra $$ off on gas for DH. I can just go local today if needed for the free gallon of milk and free pound of banana offer they sent me! I also had a free take home meal the other day which I never buy so we had that the other night for dinner. It was enough for 2.5 servings so did us perfectly.
DH is prepping the lawn mower and putting away the snow blower. That rain last night really made the yard pop! With more rain coming in the next day or so, it will be needing to be baled if I don't get at it! JK
Well DTBIL is here, must be chatting with DH in the garage. Oh the good news, he paid off his farm (at least the one he lives on). There's some reason to celebrate!
I've decided to wipe up the kitchen floor, do more cooking and a load of laundry today along with a run to Kwik Trip. Tomorrow I'll go to Janesville.

Allison, cleaning is like painting. Once you do one room, the rest are just more noticeable! It never ends once you start. DH blames mine on my "bionic eyes" now because I just didn't notice it before! Our kitchen really does need painting though but I can't decide on a color and know I'd also like to repaint the dining and living room as well. The den is the nightmare room where as we have wallpaper and fear if we take it off, the plaster needs replacing and becomes an even bigger job! We'll continue to ignore that one for awhile!

Wow, everyone must be busy! Allison is cleaning? Peg is having a day out, Luv is keeping DGD busy, Caryn is resting, Gina is focused on details, RV has a guest...oh my!
DBIL left with his soup and biscuits plus banana bread for DSIL. I've been working on switching over the Wi-Fi at the house so we can cut the strings with Spectrum and return anything necessary. DH was sure it wasn't going to be a good change, he had his mind and heart set on it but I've shown him, we actually have great service with T-Mobile here at home as well as when we travel! Woo Hoo! Well, the garage only showed one bar less for service and he was sure he'd need all the bars with all he wanted to have to run from it until I reminded him, they said we can add as many devices as we want, it won't slow us down so he's been challenged to prove them wrong but I don't think he will be able to! I'm so happy it's working so well. Next, call Spectrum and save ourselves some $$!
Meanwhile, my new Ninja coffee maker arrived and found it will fit perfectly in the camper without being too tall to add water and grounds since it's so much more user friendly! We tested it out and it's sweet! Susan told me her DD and DS love the Ninja brand so that what led me to it and because it was a "cosmetic damage", I got it for about 1/2 price and guess what, there's not even a scratch on it! I think Susan is coming over to have a cup and try the sourdough banana bread since here DGS's love banana bread and her DD said she'd never heard of a sourdough version and would love the recipe if it's good. Susan will be the judge for her, LOL!
Best prep for her arrival and I have a timer going off from the beans cooking on the stove.

Dgd and I had fun, she played with her animals, the ones her mom played with when she was little, then we looked for baby toy raccoon couldn’t find him think he’s at her house. Dgd kept saying with a sad face….”Baby raccoon!” She wanted to read so we read books, she had snacks, yogurt, blueberries and apples. Then I asked her if she wanted to go outside and she said no at first I said well let’s go let the chickens out and then she was all for it had to get her coat on which wasn’t easy for me. She’s good about getting them, but it Hass to be zipped or she doesn’t like it. We went out ran around the field and she kicked the soccer ball for not even being too. She’s pretty darn good at kicking the ball. Came back and she wanted to get her wagon. It was also our daughters wagon when she was little, but it’s too hard for me with my hands to haul around, so I said let’s go dig in the dirt on the deck which she loves . She was so dirty by the time her mom was here. It was hysterical! Dr genetic testing and she’ll find out next week whether it’s a boy or a girl.
Betty nice page turn I have to tell you I have a friend that doesn’t like bananas either. I can’t imagine not liking bananas. I love bananas. It’s only the second person I’ve ever heard of that doesn’t like bananas….bananas in bread yum! It will be fun as DGD gets older to do some cooking things with her. She’s pretty small for that right now.
Allison I get the cleaning one thing leads to another!
I haven’t got my walk n yet had to showering and wash my hair. It was driving me crazy I couldn’t wait. It’s pretty nice here today. Beautiful out cold this morning but now it’s warmed up have the doors open in the house out. I’ll try to check in later.

Betty - you are welcome for the assist to turn the page - I was asleep at the switch.
After a late lunch I started judging scholarship applications for the FBLA National Leadership Conference. I have judged 10 and have 4 to go. DH got an email that our wine shipment will be delivered tomorrow. Both DH & I will be out at appointments at mid-morning so I hope it comes later in the day. I will also check with DNeighbor to see if she can sign for it if it comes while I am away. At 6 tonight I have a condo association Zoom meeting.

DANG. I thought I posted and then it came up "we found a post, keep or discard" I hit discard! I sent my own post to the missing pixel-bin.
Short version - meeting went well, food was enjoyed, I forgot to attach the cord to the coffee pot yesterday, so the cord got plugged in this morning without the pot attached. Luckily I touched the side to check and it was cold, so I got it connected in time and there was coffee. I made 40 cups for 3o guests, but there was more than 1/2 left. Next time I know to make only 20 cups. Our chapter put forth a candidate for our organization's nationwide competitive scholarship for high school seniors. She won! We've tried a few times in the past, but not had winners, so this was exciting. She's a local high school senior who wants to be a veterinarian. She's been accepted at most of the schools she applied to.
Allison - I'm sure the candidates you are judging are all very talented, hard to pick the winners.
Betty - nice the Ninja fits. You sound busy as usual
Luv - I'm sure you had fun with DGD, she's a cutiepie.
Peg - hope the weather is better tomorrow. Smart to stay home with questionable weather
I've been cruise planning too. I've booked the hotel for Vancouver, need to decide on flights. Basic Economy, Economy, Economy plus, Premium economy...could they make it MORE confusing?? All flights are on 737's. Not happy about that. I'd prefer a different plane ' Gina

Gina, I hear your concern over a 737! I should think they will be gone over with a fine tooth comb after the issues reported recently so you may be safer than those flying now! Sure glad you checked the coffee! I think less people drink regular coffee than they once did. It's always iffy when we go somewhere as we like ours stronger than the average people so stay clear of the coffee but then others like it weaker so it's hard to know that middle of the road. How wonderful to have one of your students win!
Luv, what a good job you did with DGD. She will be helping to stir things and mix before you know it! How exciting to soon know if it will be a boy or a girl!
Allison, did you finish the judging? Hope the wine isn't an issue. I remember once having to go to the post office to sign for it but the next time, it was just delivered and I'm not even sure I had to sign for it but probably did.
My day was turned upside down. I got no laundry done, never made it to Kwik Trip and didn't do any cleaning. All my time was spent in the kitchen with the morning biscuits, clean-up, then ham and bean soup with carrots and onions added and baked frozen rolls once they were raised and ready for the oven. Susan stopped by to try the coffee from our new unit along with a piece of the sourdough banana bread but ended up staying much later as DH came in and offered happy hour and cribbage. We did manage to have soup and rolls amidst 3 games of cribbage. Susan left with another serving for tomorrow or the next day and I busied myself cleaning up the kitchen and tending the sourdough starter. I've put more in the fridge and kept a bit out in case DGD wants to feed it again. If so, I'll need to make crackers or something with some of it! That takes a lot so an easy way to use some up. Oh, DBIL said he really like the sourdough bread toasted for breakfast! That was nice to know in case I have some more to pass on at some point.
I've checked my Spectrum account and of course it just billed out another month yesterday! Ugh, oh well, I guess we're stuck with one more month weather we use it or not. After that, we're done with them. I'll call them tomorrow to be sure this will be the last month of billing. Tomorrow I'll get a load of laundry done in the morning before we meet with our investment people at 1:30. Then I may head to Janesville to get the errands run and get a pedicure in though I wish I could go earlier. IIWII
I'm ready to call it a night but will do my best to stay awake awhile longer, it's too early to call it a night already!

Gina - the hard part is all are probably deserving of receiving funds to attend the National Leadership Conference. I received a grading rubric and if the student or advisor did not meet the rubric criteria I have to give them a lower score.
Betty - no, I did not finish scoring the last 4 but will tomorrow while waiting for the wine delivery. I do have my neighbor available to sign for the delivery if it comes when I am at my appointment.
Time for bed,

Morning all, cool (46*) overcast and rainy, but not stormy, so the plan to go to Amana and pick up our clock is still on. We will leave 9:15-9:30. Meeting DH’s cousin for lunch there. They have wonderful restaurants serving German foods. The Amana colonies were founded with communal living back in the 1800’s. Now it’s a tourist destination, and some of the meals can be served family style. I had the Reuben sandwich last time, with their own corned beef and they make wonderful sauerkraut, selling it on site in the restaurant. I didn’t buy any because my very German husband is not a fan!! His paternal grandparents came from Germany - well, actually they were German’s that came from Russia - when they were children.
Yesterday was a good outing that ended up being a lot more walking than we thought. Two of our members had to give up early as they were not able to do that much walking. The murals by Grant Woods were phenomenal, the main ones reaching two stories tall, depicting the different colleges at the time he was a student there. We also saw the sculptures by Christian Peterson, also a wonderful story of his time at ISU. Lunch was interesting as it was served by the students studying dietary programs. One of the servers said she was working with the football team as part of her studies. We were limited on time as they needed to get us out and get the room cleaned up before their next classes. They serve one meal option per week, this week’s was chicken crepes with broccoli and a coconut bread. Some of the members had a filling in their bread, mine didn’t have much coconut, but it was tasty. They also have dessert, which was chocolate cake with a German chocolate frosting of coconut and pecan. Very tasty.
BFF and I went shopping after that, she found a really nice dress, I didn’t see anything I really loved, well, I did see two things but neither in my size, so I came home empty handed. Of course I”m thinking of DSGD’s wedding, but I do have one top that I really like, it’s the right color, and I already own it! Unless I find something else I know that will work. I have two other possibilities, but one might be too white(ish), as she has said NO white and NO black. 🤷🏼♀️
I’m going to wave good morning 👋🏼 and skip personals for now. I need to get some breakfast and get dressed. TTFN

Gina - oh boy! This 737 issue is surely on everyone’s mind!
Peg - enjoy!
We have similar weather. My joints are yelling at me! Even Scruffy isn’t looking for outside time. And no gardening!
I think DH wants to go to Costco. We probably should go earlier rather than later, but it’s already after 9.
Not much else to add. Hope all Bammies have a good day, whatever is on the schedule.

Good morning. Feeling a bit more like myself. Had a good night's sleep and the alarm woke me up. Guess my body clock is shifting back to normal. I have 3 big loads of laundry, with the first one started in the washer now. The cleaning crew is coming today, which is good because Sunday we move the living room furniture to make room for the long tables/chairs for Monday's Seder. I also have an ophthalmologist appointment and Miracle Ball today.
It's in the 40's all day and rainy. In all, a good day to take a nap, even though I doubt I'll have time. But then, I'm still a big jet lagged so we'll see. don't want to fall asleep in MB class LOL.
Peg - LOL at no white or black for the DSGD's wedding. Seems to be a universal rule. You have a top but what will you wear it with? I wonder if you search the internet for the dresses you liked to see if you can find it in your size. Some times the store has it at another place, or the manufacturer sells to other retailers. Interesting about Amana. Will Google it to learn more.
Gina - what airline will you be flying? I'm glad you'll be vacationing soon. You deserve it.
Allison - did the neighbor say they'll take in the wine if you're gone? Enquiring minds want to know LOL
I have 95 mostly junk emails to delete, plus a whole bunch of recipes I emailed myself for Passover ideas. And I want to walk a bit to my walking DVDs. I only did a mile yesterday. Can I do the full 2 miles today? I hope so.

It's cool and rainy here as well. Sounds like we're all in the same boat, so to speak! I've already accomplished more today than yesterday (work-wise). I have the second load of laundry in the washer and folded and put away those sheets that still remained in the dryer! I broke down all the boxes from my recent deliveries and took those to the recycling bin, swapped out the coffee maker in the camper and put the spare in the basement now for whenever we need it. DGD asked for a drop biscuit this morning but I had to tell her I sent the rest with DTBIL! She was disappointed so I suggested I make a fresh batch for her but there's a long resting period involved so since she's spending the night here tonight, I let her choose if she'd like them fresh and warm tonight or in the morning. Tonight was her request so I mixed them up and we'll bake them fresh for tonight plus, I added cheese to them! I hope they turn out but suspect there shouldn't be an issue.
Next up, breakfast and empty the dishwasher then continue the re-loading of it (never ending, like laundry)! I'll call Spectrum this morning to get that behind us as well since it can't be done on-line. Oh, DH surprised DGD this morning as he took a piece of wood and painted a picture of her little hamster on it from a photo she'd sent him on his phone. She was so taken by it, she asked if she could keep it (of course) and it went into her backpack. She kept touching it and said she could almost feel her so DH was quite taken with her reaction. She then went around taking pictures of all of DH's artworks and sent photos to her DFs! One asked if she could buy one, she said they were beautiful and she had over $100 saved from working then sent a photo of the stack of various paper bills! LOL
DGD announced she is signed up for only two summer school classes this year. She originally thought she wouldn't be taking any but DSIL had the final say so she'll be able to sleep in as her first class (math and reading) won't be until 10:00. Her second class is "6th Grade Survival". She thinks it's just learning where the rooms are and getting to know your locks on your lockers etc but when I looked it up, it's interesting, teaching how to navigate a variety of classes with different teachers, planning and organizing and how to be sure you get the most of your classes by doing all of the homework/listening closely and following directions that may just be placed on the board. I hadn't thought about it but yes, it is going to be quite the change from elementary so it will be a good class for her to take!
Well, best get moving. As soon as we're finished with the financial meeting, I'll be off to Janesville to get back at a reasonable hour to get those biscuits finished!

Betty - love that 6th grade survival class. What a great idea! Honestly all kids should have that. And for high school too LOL
Well I was able to do 1 1/2 miles today before my legs began to hurt. I'm being very gentle on myself. Glad to tell you that so far I've needed neither ibuprofen nor ice today. D just left to get us Mike's sandwiches - and I'm going to make an asparagus risotto for dinner: both because we can eat neither bread nor rice during the 8 days of Passover. Gotta get it all in. Plus D bought asparagus while I was away and we need to use them. So win-win.
Finally changed out my travel purse for my normal one - so I can drive to the doctor with my driver's license in my purse LOL. Most everything is getting back to order, except for one bedroom, where all the travel stuff is all over the place. The cleaning crew will have to work around that and also the sweater dryer things that sit on my laundry room floor. Don't think anything will be dry by the time they come. I'll figure it out.

Good afternoon all. DH's first appointment was cancelled meaning if I scooted right out for errands I would be back before he had to leave. It ended up not mattering as the wine came while he was home and I was able to do an additional errand after my appointment. Now back at home going through my emails. We need rugs for the newly refinished floors and ruggables has a Friends and Family Sale from their morning email. I will discuss options with DH when he gets home from his appointments and errands.
Peg - cool and overcast here as well. I plan to ride the bike instead of walking outside. We put the exercise bike on an old yoga may to keep the floors from getting scratched.
Caryn - yes, DNeighbor said she would take one bottle if she had to accept our delivery.
Betty - do most kids do summer school? DGS5 will be doing "camp" as he does best when he has a regular schedule and DGS3 will be in preschool as DS & DDIL have to pay for the summer to keep his spot for the fall.
hi to Jeanne, Gina, Sharon, Luv and Nancy. Time to get on the bike.

Allison - glad the morning worked out for you. We regularly use Bona for hardwood floors to clean our wood floors (usually every other week). Have you tried it? Got an email from our friend Sue that her choral society has a concert on Saturday. We just bought tickets. www.gcs-ct.org/ We'll probably join them and others for dinner at their house afterward. I never did get on the bike - the TV Remote was not working and we spent time trying to get it to work (it was not batteries - it needed to be "reset" per the Xfinity tech who I was finally able to get on the phone - stupid Virtual Assistant was not assistance at all... Then DH and I went out for coffee and played cards. Now back home - just ordered two rugs from Ruggable - one for the LR and one for the DR. They are the same pattern we have in Florida.
Now it is time for the bike...

Allison, wonderful you have the rugs ordered! Sometimes we need to just re-boot, I guess that goes for the remote as well! I had our Roku remote "stuck" but messed around between the TV and the remote and it decided to respond after all. Sometimes I'm not so sure about technology but then where would we be without it? I sure wouldn't be chatting here everyday with my friends!
Summer school is an option for all students. Some take it, others do not. DSIL insisted DGD take it every year offered combining math, then a fun class, reading and another fun class. Summer school is only 4 weeks though if I recall, probably somewhat similar to DGS5 camp but probably more fun than her studies included in hers. I think DSD/DSIL had to pay the full year for pre-school as well so she attended 2-3 days/week and stayed with me the other days to give me a break!
Caryn, yes, I'm glad she's going to have that class! I really hadn't thought about how different the move will be for her. Apparently next year, the 5th graders will also be moved to middle school. As of now it's grades 6-8. I'm glad you are getting back to yourself again but LOL at the spare bedroom. It's always hard to get that all organized and where it belongs again, especially if you were facing jet lag! Enjoy the concert! I use Bona on my hard tile floor in the kitchen, what a difference it makes in helping it to stay clean and nice looking longer. Love it!
Well, no changes made on advisement from our financial guy but he talked so long, I decided not to go to Janesville after all. I ran to Kwik Trip and found the bargains on the items I needed there and apparently they got one 8 pk of Fresca Mixed in as I'd been watching every time I go in and nothing. Today, there was ONE 8 pack on a table with some other odd seltzers. I snagged in quickly and the best part, I think I was paying $15.99 or more in Florida and it was only $11.99 giving another 10 cents off on gas for DH as well! I remembered DGD will need breakfast and since DH only eats a fruity, nutty cereal not to her liking, I picked up and cooked bacon to have with either eggs or pancakes in the morning for her. I'm sure she'll be okay with that. I finished the laundry and all is put away, the mess from cooking bacon is cleaned up and stove grates, knobs, etc are in the dishwasher. DGD sent a message that she will be over after she has her dinner. I said that would be fine and she gave me a thumbs up. It seems so funny to be messaging her but she's truly enjoying her phone. I'm just enjoying my quiet as DH is in the garage doing some painting. He's doing one of the DNeighbor's house and plans to surprise her with it. It will be interesting to see how he does. I'm sure she would love it.
Well, I had a horrid night of sleep so think I'll just rest my eyes for a bit before DGD arrives. Tomorrow I'll go to Janesville when I'll have more time for my pedicure and errands there.

We are home, whew. Drove over in the rain, not a storm, much needed rain, although driving in it wasn’t all that fun. I LOVE my maps that direct me where to go. Back in the day, I would sit with a map in my lap and direct DH, now that I’m the driver I need that for me. While we have done this recently it was good to put it on my phone and let it guide us. We picked up the clock and were early to the Ox Yoke Inn to meet DH DCousin. She is such a delight. She is the same age as DBIL. It was so good to catch up with her and her family, she’s lost her DH about a year and a half ago, so is still navigating that.
We did stop to fuel up in M’town and I stopped to pick up the strawberries and some green beans for our lunch on Sunday. I also bought some flowers to have on the table. I’m not a flower arranger by any stretch of the imagination, but I’ll put them in something to put on the table to enjoy. Our rose bud tree is blooming, I’m thinking if I need something more, I’ll cut some branches from that to add in to the flowers? We’ll see. Maybe I can make it work somehow?
Allison - so glad the wine delivery was a non-issue after all. Yay on the rugs, we went to see our DCousin’s home in Cedar Rapids. She has hard wood floors with a lovely big rug in front of the fire place in the living room area. You know you will love the rugs since you have them in FL.
Caryn - how fun to have a concert to enjoy. And dinner after will make it even better.
Betty - wow, we all need a 6th grade survival class!! What a great opportunity to make you DGD ready for the next big step. She is growing up way too fast!! What a wonderful blessing she has been, and I loved reading about her reaction to DH’s paintings. So very special.
Jeanne - hang in there on the weather. We arrived home in sunshine!! Tomorrow should be good for doing some windows as well as DH getting the lawn mowed.
It’s news time, then to figure out….. do we need another meal? I brought home 1/2 of my reuben sandwich, so I’m good! But what will DH eat?
BTW, the clock is working!!! Woo - Hoo.

I rode the bike for 10 miles while watching this past Saturday's SNL. Dinner was chicken and veggies - very tasty. I need to judge the last 4 student applications then I will read. DH is watching a Humphrey Bogart movie.
Peg - yes, we like the pattern and color of the Florida rugs. If we do not need the new rugs when we finally sell the PA house & move to Pittsburgh we can take them to Florida and add them to what we already have.

Good morning! Happy Friday! Cloudy but think it will clear and no rain.
Allison - glad the floors and rugs are good! And the wine got there. WTG on 10 miles!
Nancy - more gatherings today?
Peg- sounds like a nice day yesterday.
We came out of Costco for less than $200! lol! Bought a pair of shorts which I needed. And a package of rib steaks. Usually they’re good but don’t know about this batch. May have to find another way to cook he, instead of as steaks.
Not sure what today will bring. We do need to pick up things for Monday nights Seder. And DH found a different brisket recipe he thought looked good.
Ok, need more coffee.

Morning all, cold at 32* but bright sunshine to start the day. A busy day of getting ready for company on Sunday, but we got a great reprieve last evening. DH’s DBro from Illinois called to say they are coming on Sunday to spend the night with DBIL and will be with him through the procedure on Monday. Woo- Hoo
I do need to figure out lunch today but otherwise most of the morning will be general cleaning. When we stopped on our way home to pick up the green beans and strawberries yesterday I forgot to get a b’day card for sis. I did find one for DBro, good thing is we have a $ General only 7 miles away, so that will happen either today or tomorrow.
That’s my life today, wonder what you are all doing?
Nancy - even your post sounded like you were very tired. Hope you got a good night’s sleep.
Allison - did you get those last pages judged? What’s on tap for today?
Since I was on late yesterday not much more for this morning, have a TGIF kinda day.
