Caryn, I think we have the same oven, GE Advantium. I also use the steam clean option. I need to set it up so the cleaning ladies can finish it for me. Does yours have "speed cook" in the microwave part? If so, the baked potato setting is amazing. 8 minutes, and it does not taste like a microwaved potato. I also use roasted mixed veggies. That chicken sounds yummy, too. I will try it for us and it sounds like something that would be nice for our supper club.
Dinner tonight will be steak and baked potatoes with a green salad.
Peg, to get to this farm, it requires 20 minutes driving on an unpaved 1 lane road and crossing a stream. In the rain, you are stuck. So a family can't really live there. They do spend weekends or short stays. They had their son's Bar Mitzvah there, and it was a challenge for vendors and catering, not to mention guests, to get there. DFDIL said no to having the wedding at the farm.
Jeanne, cold and windy here today, so no walk for me this morning. I plan to go to the gym at 3, use the treadmill, and then do a yoga class at 4. Will confirm later that I stuck to this plan, COL!
Betty, hope you got a nap. I hear you about being awake from 3-5, then having to get up early. I was happy to be back in my own bed last night and slept until almost 8 this morning.
Hi to Lori, Allison & Sharon

Wordle in 3, connections, 1 error and no peeking, waffle with 0 remaining.
Sounds like it's medical week here. DH has his last therapy, I think, this afternoon. We have lots of planting to do. Might start before he gets home. Or might not!!!.
Have enough steak for 2 lunch sandwiches, then I need to go to Publix and get their low fat cottage cheese. Only one I like. Need coffee filters also. Making a batch of spaghetti sauce this after and will freeze 3 of the 4 and have one tonight. Think the salads I've been eating are not my best friends. Will lay off those for a while. Know better but think I can sneak by anyway. Wrong.
Caryn - Can I make the lemon chicken with boneless skinless beasts if I perhaps sore them?
Gina - That farm sounds wild.
Jeanne - The winds seem extra strong this year. Just waiting for the cicadas to emerge. Yuck!
Peg - Sorry about the lake not being your thing this weekend.
Allison - Your house looks like a model home.
Betty - To me oversleeping is getting up around 9:00am
Luv - Little boy clothes are sometimes cuter than girl clothes.
Time to figure out what I am doing today so BBL

Gina - we have GE Cafe. The oven is an induction cooktop. Below is a big oven and below that is a warming drawer. We got an above the stove microwave, also Cafe, which also has a convection baking option. That's how I have my "extra" oven. My toaster oven also has an oven. That chicken recipe was very easy - the hardest part was avoiding grating my fingers when grating the garlic LOL. I had one question when reading about future machatunum's farm - do the parents live together?
D is going out to dinner and a movie with Peter tonight so I'll either have leftover chicken or brisket with veggies for dinner. My dentist visit was not great - I have a crown on a back tooth that's loose and she thinks that's why I've been having mild toothaches there. I'm waiting for a call to get pricing and then make an appointment. The good news is that she found nothing else to concern us.

Nancy - I don't see why you couldn't use it with boneless - I'd check them carefully for doneness - nothing worse that tough white meat chicken. But the sauce is delicious and the chicken is very flavorful. I'll definitely make it again.

Caryn - so the microwave only has convection, not 'speed cook'? Ours is GE Profile, which is the grade below Cafe. We have the wall oven with a separate induction cooktop. I'm looking to replace the cooktop and will probably chose the Cafe version. Yes, the machatunums do live together. They both go to the farm, he goes at least every other day when he's in town. He travels for work. She goes on weekends. He also has a caretaker who will go feed the chickens when they are traveling. There are cameras all over the property so he can see what is going on no matter where he is in the world. He's a well known software engineer (Microsoft named him a "software legend"), he lectures around the world. IDesign.net is his company
I found a ceramic garlic grater/plate at an art show in Florida, it's got ceramic 'teeth' in a shallow bowl. Rub the garlic against the teeth, add a bit of olive oil and use a brush to add to whatever sauce. Also works for fresh ginger. SAVES my finger tips!
Sorry about the bad dental news, hopefully the pricing isn't too bad.
Ok, time to go check my inbox, loving this lazy week!

Back from my checkup - I got an A from the Dr. and she will see me next year. I may have to schedule my June Mammo in Pittsburgh due to the stupid 365+1 day requirement or wait until August.
Nancy - not quite a model home but the floors and rugs do look good. I need to get rid of loads of junk from the attic.
Caryn - hope the cost of the crown replacement is reasonable.
Gina - please post a photo of your garlic/ginger grater.
Watching the Phillies in a day game - they are winning 5-0 but will need their bullpen for the last three innings - and the pen has been a disaster the past few games. DH just got off the bike so I will now ride.

Gina - I’ll bet I have that same garlic grater plate, we see them at the state fair every year. There is a larger one they say works great for hard cheese. DDIL uses her’s all the time for the garlic, adds a bit of oil or butter puts it in the microwave for a few seconds, and then brushes it on green beans or whatever. Mine sits by my sink, because it’s so pretty but is seldom used.
Caryn - my trip to the dentist was about the same. I have several areas we are ‘watching’ some more concerning than others. One might mean losing the tooth entirely, then what? Bridge? Implant?$$ or not replace it? It’s a back molar and I don’t want to leave the space empty, but ye gods on the price of an implant, which would be my first choice. Funny how the hygienist likened it to a car getting some age, and deciding to repair or replace, and you can imagine that hit close to home knowing DH wants to trade in my car. <sigh> I also have another tooth that might need a crown, but then there are two more with old silver fillings that they are concerned about. This ole’ gray mare she ain’t what she used to be.

Gina - I have a plate like that for ginger. I should try it w garlic!

Happy dance - Phillies won plus I found out that Medicare does not require 365+1. It just has to be the same month. I rode the bike for 10 miles.

The one like mine is about 7 rows down, the Orange Pier edition. So pretty. I enjoy it even if I don’t use it all that often.
Allison - I just checked the Cubs played a day game too, they won against the Astros, don’t know if this is the sweep or if there is a game tomorrow? I see KC is ahead, but they are in a rain delay.
Don’t know why I’m so tired today, but I sure am. Just have to feed Maddie, DH will probably take care of himself. Although I should find something for us to eat as I’ll be out for lunch tomorrow. Hmm, wonder what he would like, there is time for me to make something for him.

Gina - thank you for the link. I texted my DNiece who does pottery as a hobby. Maybe she will be willing to make something for me. If not, I will check at the Annual Art Harvest Show in Florida in November. Last year I found my spoon rest there.

Allison - don’t know how she would make the sharp rasp that you use to grate the garlic or ginger. Will be interested in her response.

Gina, thanks for the visual! Now at least I'll know what it is if I see one at an art show! Very unique!
I'm not going to post much, apparently the RSV has me beyond fatigue! I just dozed off a second before I got a text that brought me around. I did the Janesville errands, filled the car with gas (almost 14 cents less/gal), picked up items to make egg roll in a bowl for dinner tonight then came home, unloaded things and mowed the rest of the yard. It was all I could do at the end to put one foot in front of the other, came in grabbed a drink and collapsed into my chair. I'm done. They say the fatigue will pass in a few days so that should feel amazing when it does!
Back to resting my eyes...

Evening - watching the NFL draft and reading. I'll be going to bed early as I was up late reading last night. I will be walking at 8:30 with a friend.
Peg - DNiece said she has made quite a few and were easy to make. She doesn't have any already made and doesn't have access to a kiln right now. She offered to ask some of her friends if I wanted to commission one or more. I was interested if she made them, not one of her friends so I will look at the Art Harvest Show in the fall.
Betty - so sorry you are worn out. Hopefully a good night's sleep will help you feel better.
Gina- very cool.

Allison, thank you. I did make the egg roll in a bowl for dinner and then we watched the last episode of Mr Bates vs the Post Office. I'm sure I will sleep well tonight as both DSIL and DDIL have tomorrow off so no appearance of DGD at 6:35 a.m. We are sleeping in (I hope).
Gina, those do look like some sharper teeth than those on Etsy.
They are talking severe storms starting Friday evening but according to my weather app, we aren't getting anything close to what they're talking about! Probably one of those going around us things or just a light rain here. Time will tell. I have lots of receipts to enter into Fetch Rewards and rebates to process.
As for the kitchen color - We don't have a lot of wall space, only above and below cabinets, around the window and a small wall space between the kitchen and laundry area so those will be Silk Tree, a somewhat light cream but definitely enough difference to set it apart from the white appliances we still have. Then there is the area at the end of the west side of the kitchen which is an open area leading to the basement stairway with a half wall and a place to hang coats and place our work-type shoes. That area will be Italian Straw which is a gray with possibly a green undertone. I will definitely try a pint/quart/sample to try out before getting a gallon and test it out on the walls first. I do think it should work well and is neutral enough to last for the greater part of the balance of my lifetime. If I feel more energy tomorrow, I'll run uptown and check out the paint.
For now, the news is on so that tells me it's my bedtime...and I'm ready.

Wordle in 4 and perfect connections.
Betty, the colors sound nice. Our home is beige...and is not likely to change!
I walked for 20 min on the treadmill and then went to yoga class. Gentle yoga, it was very nice. Only 4 of us.

Morning all, it’s already rainy and windy, even tho’ last evening the rain was going to start after 4:00 this afternoon. Like the rain, but not the wind, however, we get what Mother Nature sends, and we do need the rain.
Yesterday afternoon it was decided that my three friends and I will meet for lunch. We were trying to come up with a time and place to get together when BFF mentioned she was in town for PT and would be done at 11:30. Our DFriend is thrilled to have lunch with us so she doesn’t have to eat alone. Except for the rain, it’s a great idea. I’ll pick up the two, and we will meet BFF at the restaurant. So, that’s my day in a nutshell. I still haven’t gotten over to see my friends in the care facility. I feel bad about that.
Gina - I think I bombed connections yesterday, can’t even remember for sure, but I think it was yesterday. I did get today’s without hints and no misses.
Betty - I do like to have an accent wall that is different than the rest. I had that in our old house, what I did there was paint three walls and wallpaper the accent wall. But that was the 70’s!! Anyway, I hope your colors work together and you love the new look. I take it you will DIY this project? How are you feeling today, hope you are better after a good night’s sleep and no reason to get up early this morning.
Allison - it would have been nice to have one of the dish graters made by your DNiece, I agree with Gina, the teeth on it are very sharp.
Jeanne - where will you walk today?
Caryn - what’s up with you this morning?
I’m off to find some breakfast and do a few things around here before I leave. TTFN and have a TGIF kinda day.

Good morning! Sunny and cold today. Frost on the grass! But it’s warmed up to 51 and there’s no wind that I can tell. Will get ready to walk Scruffy shortly and will have an idea as to what we’ll do later.
Passover question - when is it over? DH like to follow the “rules” and I have no idea if it’s Monday sundown or Tuesday sundown.
DH got the first drops this morning. His vision is a bit blurry. Looks like I’ll be chauffeuring him around!
Peg - enjoy lunch, if the weather doesn’t interfere.
Gina thanks for the link. That surface looks just like my ginger grater.
Allison - it would be great if she could make you one!
Yankees lost last night, but Rizzo seems to be getting his mojo back. That good news!
Ok better get moving.

Good morning. They said it was at freezing this morning but I actually thought it was pleasant for my walk. I'm done with breakfast and the paper; dealt with D who has a cramp in his upper back under his scapula. Now I'm here. Will do a workout today and aside from that I have a podiatrist appointment. D wants to use the Wet and Forget on our patio and this weekend I'm going to start putting down fertilizer and spraying against deer.
I don't understand how those plates keep your fingers from getting nicked when the garlic or ginger gets short. I use a wide plane grater for both and the skin below my pointer finger fingernail got nicked. It's the same motion. Someone should invent a garlic holder LOL. I'm going to stick with what I have. On the other hand those plates are very pretty.
Jeanne - Passover is 8 days, so Tuesday night after sundown is when it's over.
Peg - have a great time at lunch today. how nice you could pull everyone together.
Betty - of course you should try the samples before you paint everything but those colors sound very pretty.
Off to the inbox and then to my workout. TTFN

BTW - last night I did have the brisket and I froze most of the chicken for a future dinner. We still have legs and wings - they'll be my lunch. Maybe the brisket for dinner tonight with a nice salad? And I need to throw out that gorgeous cake. I ate some of it for dessert. I think I'm done with sweets for a while. And matzo - they are not sitting right with me

Good morning all. I walked 5.3 miles. It was 39* when I started and 52* when I finished. I got warm in my fleece and turtleneck. Going to be lazy for the rest of the afternoon. I have a dinner tonight and am driving with a friend - DH will have dinner at their house.
Betty - hope you are feeling better this morning.
Caryn - yup, it warmed up. The grater plate is interesting. I was most interested in giving my DNiece something to work on - she is the one who lost her pregnancy at 26 weeks. Maybe she will get access to a kiln and make some for me.
Puzzle time,
Allison
