Allison - sometimes you wonder what they were smoking when they create some of the connections ideas.
I am sure I would have no fingers left with that garlic scraper. They are pretty though. Wordle in 6, waffle with 2 left, and connections with 3 left, no peeking. Yes that purple one was a doozy. DH s out filling some pots with impatiens and wave petunias. I want to go get that lemon lantana I saw and a purple calibrachoa plant and that will be it for potted flowers. Put purslane in my oaken bucket yesterday. will see how long it takes for the squirrels to dig that up. Put moth balls in there also. My New Guinea impatiens is red, hopefully to attract the hummingbirds. Did have another visitor last evening. DH put the new bluebird house up and the wrens are already trying to take over. Well better get a move on. Everyone stay safe if you are in the track of the big storm.

Hi!
Had a good walk at the mid-island park since we were told it was cold at the shore. Scruffy had a good walk where he met some neighbors who gushed over him.
Connections - purple was particularly stupid today! Did it with one error.
Nancy - nice plantings! I tried to clear some spots today and clear out weeds. Did ok, not great. Need to soften the soil a bit to get cleared.
Having my Pinot Grigio and have chicken and roasted potatoes picked up from the market for dinner. DH is a bit stressed about the cataract procedure scheduled for Monday. It will be a weird weekend navigating things here. Should have 2 bottles of Pinot! lol!

Jeanne. All will go well with the cataract surgery. Everyone is scared with the first one cuz someone's poking around in your eye. All the drops have it so you don't feel anything. Enjoy your wine. I'll have one with you in a few minutes

Weird as it sounds, my fingers don't get nicked. I hold the garlic by the stem end, it grates the inside and you are left with the stem and outer layer, not the papery one, but the layer just inside that.
Jeanne- I also have the ginger fish, these teeth are bigger than that.
Went for coffee this AM and then had our social committee meeting. I'm in charge of picking a concert or play to attend. That I can do! I'll also have some tasks related to our holiday party and summer picnic, but I'm not in charge of those. Also got the bugs washed off my car, we were inundated coming home on Wednesday. Stopped at Aldi's, they are supposed to have a lot of glutenfree stuff in May. ALL sold out already! The glutenfree stuff is a one time thing, it comes in and the first ones there horde it. They need to have limits. I did find my dark chocolate with hazelnuts, some almond flour crackers and shredded cheese for matza pizza.
It's blowing like crazy here today, 30+ knots and gale warnings.
I need to draft a letter to my bank regarding the $50 debit to my account, they sent me a letter saying it wasn't an error, but provided NO support for their decision.
Nancy - lantanas did great in LA, here they are deciduous, unless you plant them next to a brick wall that holds the heat. The bunnies like to hide in ours. They eat some, but not too much. We are also busy keeping the swallows away.
it's already 3 pm, best get to my letter

So far we are safe from the storms, they are in western Iowa. Our DDer called to make sure we are paying attention, and yes, we are.

While trying to post pix on tapatalk my profile pix changed. Have no idea what I did. All I know is that I was sitting in the kitchen and a stink bug landed in my hair, I brushed him off and now my hair stinks. Have to wash it before I go to bed.
Think I am tired. See ya manana

Waking up to a pretty morning, the redbud tree, the crab apple and the lilacs are all blooming, plus the sun is shining. While we are enjoying this morning others in Iowa and Nebraska no longer have homes. The pictures I have seen from those areas are horrific. I ended up bringing Maddie into our bed for the night. She doesn’t like thunder and lightening and wouldn’t settle down. I closed the shades to lessen the light and she came in and settled right down. I don’t sleep the best with an extra dog in my bed, but didn’t do too bad.
Not sure what is on the list for the day. I hope I”m home all day today.
That’s what’s happening in my world, what’s happening in yours?

Good morning. Fell asleep early again so woke up early again. I don't know why I have been doing this. Anyway, the newspaper still isn't on my driveway so I'm waiting before taking my walk. It's in the 30's now but going up to the low 60s. This is the pruning and fertilizing weekend and maybe I'll plant that new hydrangea bush I got for the back.
Nancy - crazy about TAT and your photo. Yuck on the stink bug.
Peg - good to hear that you're safe from the storms. I'm reading that they're still coming on strong. Stay safe.
I'm starting to think about our July cruise and am concerned about seasickness. If you know of something that works, please let me know.
Will post this and make me a coffee. Wish that danged paper would appear

Oh Peg, your garden sounds so pretty. Poor Maddy and poor you to have to make room for her in your bed.

Good morning all. We are on our way to Rehoboth. Last night’s Junior League Soirée was great fun. I got to see friends I had not seen in quite some time.
Nancy - ick on the stink bug. Flowers are very pretty
Wordle in 4, Quordle in 7, Duotrig in 35 and Connections with one error

Good morning!
Sunny and not as cold as predicted. In the 50s now. We will have 80s on Monday!
Peg - the photos of the damage from the storm is crazy scary! Glad you and yours are ok. And chuckled at extra bed in the bed! Don’t worry, we won’t tell J what you posted! lol!
I’m enjoying my apple tree as well. My neighbor gets to see my lilacs. Need to work on trimming them so they bloom in my side of the fence! Put that on the list.
Caryn - hope you find something to have just in case you need it. Normally the ship’s ballast keeps most people feeling just fine as if they were on solid ground.
Ok, better getting moving. Need to take Scruffy out.

Jeanne- I only asked because the one time I was on a cruise ship for a week I was so nauseous I could barely eat anything. Enjoy your walk with Scruffy. It was a really nice day for a morning walk.
Allison - enjoy the beach! Seems a bit cold but I bet you're going there to visit your friends
Paper finally came. D just got an email about our upcoming cruise. Gotta post this and read

Eh, it's pretty generic. Not what I expected.
Laundry #1 is in. I'm washing 2-3 heavy sweaters/week so that i can put them away for the summer. Will wait for the lighter sweaters until the weather is more stable. Right now daytime highs range from 60 to 80! Crazy. I could also put our heavy winter coats/jackets away, but then I wore one this morning for my walk. Maybe the heavy down ones... just thinking out loud.

Back again, the robot vac is doing its thing. DH is working on my outdoor lights around the inside of the deck. Yay. The sheets are in the wash and the bed remade. I have two sets so I can remake the bed while the ones I take off can go through the laundry.
We could get more bad weather this afternoon. A neighbor posted she had 3” of rain in her gauge. I don’t think we got that much, but I do know it poured in the night.
Jeanne - ha, ha, didn’t think how I made that sound.
Oops. Got called away, glad to find this still here. Will post and check in later this afternoon.

Caryn - I am the opposite of you. The motion of the ship is great but I have trouble being stable on land like on shore excursions. Can't wait to get back on the ship. Some people swear by those bands that put pressure on your wrists. I know that Dramamine will have me being drowzy like benadryl. There are also patches some people wear. Ask you Dr. and see what he/she says.
Slept till 9:30 this morning. Must have needed it. Need to get roast in crock pot so BBL
Everyone stay safe in the tornado zones.
Connections with 2 left, no peeking, wordle in 5 and waffle with 1 left.

Thanks Jeanne and Nancy.
Heading outside to spray the hostas and daylilies. And do whatever else I feel up to. There's time tomorrow and Monday for more...
