I can't do the mixing pattern thing. I agree that it hurts my eyes. I also feel like you have to be careful about sizing. Or maybe it's just me, but I don't feel like I look good/put together in things that are obviously way too big and a couple of their styles are intended to be that way. I think this is really a problem for older people, like my stepmom, and then she just ends up looking frumpy.

I also kind of hate that I have to join Facebook groups or find a consultant to order them. It makes the process of finding something too daunting. Just tell me what I can have, let me order it, and then send it to me.

Really, they don't make plain black. I feel that that would be a very popular one to sell.

They make plain black but they are hard to find. I was able to score a pair and I've only worn them once. They dyed my fingernails black. It was kind of a turn off.

What? That's crazy!

I think part of the gimmick is that they make limited quantities of things. So things like black leggings are hard to find and sell quickly. Both pairs of leggings my mom is bringing me are solid colors. I also bought two of their baseball tees. The sizing was a little confusing to me. I'm normally a large, but it sounded like from their scaling I'm a medium.

After we chatted about this a little yesterday, I did a bunch of research and found out some pretty crazy things about the LLR company. There are FB groups and blogs all over the place about "the truth" and how the company really doesn't support the consultants and you have to put in a lot of money and be very successful/put in a ton of time in order to even break even.

I've heard that it costs consultants $8-10k in start up costs. I can't imagine with that kind of startup fee that you break even any time soon.
The sizing is also wonky. I'm usually a M/L in shirts, but the Irma apparently runs big so I ordered a small. Yeah I was swimming in it. It was too much of a hassle to try and exchange it so instead I just dried it and hoped it shrank. It's better, but I think it's still too big.

Wow! I was never a fan because I have an aquantiance, who I am not fond of that loves them, and anything she loves, I don't like. 8-10k in start up. Even Mary Kay was only $450 to start up

beave246 I'm the same way with some things. It's actually what took me so long to buy any LLR. DH's best friend's wife is super into LLR and her insta posts made me hate it and resist it for a long time.

I've been pretty vocal on the boards generally about my disdain for LLR which is mostly based on the annoying pyramid scheme sales tactics and getting involuntarily pulled into LLR FB groups way too often. So many of my friends sell LLR or other MLM-type products on social media and I've had to block a handful of my close friends on FB as a result so I'm starting out so far in the anti-LLR camp that I know my opinion is biased. But my coworker also has a few friends that sell it and one that lost like $4500 or something on it and she felt pretty screwed over by the whole thing, but in fairness I've heard all of her complaints with them secondhand.
For me, I only like black leggings and I have other brands that are my go-to for black leggings so there's just really no major reason to find a new one, especially one that I have to order by posting on a FB group. My roommate got a pair of the plain black ones and they're pretty thin and hers ripped the first day she got them and they had to be exchanged (I assume the new ones have been fine). I just don't really have a lot of use for leggings I wouldn't wear out of the house.

Al- what are your go to pair of black leggings? All I have is the boot cut work out pants from Target, and the capri length from Target as well. The capri works well under skirts and dresses in the winter with boots, but I don't have any that I could wear with a sweater dress and low shoes.

I am obsessed with Zella Live-In High Waist Leggings from Nordstrom. Before that I wore American Apparel for years and thought I loved them but now if I try them on I feel like they don't stay in place nearly as well as the Zella ones, and the color on the AA ones seemed to fade faster.
If you want something to wear under dresses you might prefer some thinner leggings (or I usually just wear tights under skirts/dresses). These aren't bulky at all but they're more substantial so I feel OK wearing them with tops that are longer but don't entirely cover my ass (like a boyfriend-type button-down top or flannel).
