Hey Christine! What's goin on?
I've got a little more than a week left at work before I go on vacation. When I come back, I'll be transitioning to a new role on one of our other sites in the country. Not feeling very motivated this week.

Hey! Things are good. About 40ish days left of school, and then I'm off to Florida for my annual solo vacation. Where are you going on vacation? Will you be living in a new work camp?

3 weeks, that's crazy! Are you planning a party? yes  very hungry caterpillar-themed loosely because The Fresh Market near me is going out of business, so I went yesterday and loaded up a cart of frozen appetizers at 30% off and none of them are VHC-themed lol |

I was off last week and I already need another week off. I'm off for May 5, but that's because my cousin is getting married. Otherwise next vacay will probably be sometime over the summer - not to go anywhere, just not to work either.
My best friend just got a new job. We worked together for 2 years, then she got fired (long story, wasn't justified, they 'eliminated her position') and I soon after left that company. We talk daily on gchat, but her new job is at an actual law firm with billable hours and she likely won't be able to use gchat anymore. I'm going to be so very sad when that happens.

Wow Lisa! Time flies. New camp, but it's closer to Tbilisi, so I can see my friends on the weekends. Going to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Munich with my parents. Can't wait to drink and eat |

SB, one of the biggest things keeping me at my current job is that we don't have any billable hour requirements. I have to track and total my hours up but since our work is a mix of hourly and contingency, there's no real expectation of anything. Is your cousin's wedding local or are you traveling?

I go to Marco Island on the gulf coast of Florida. I can't wait for 5 days alone. I love my family, however, there are a lot of demands that are placed on me.

Only exciting news in my life right now is that my S8 should be getting delivered today and I may get to go to upstate NY for a 2-day training for work in a few weeks.

Good morning!
No vacations planned for me, as I took off a bunch of time for my wedding in January and went into negative PTO. They aren't allowing that to continue, so I have to make up the time and then some before I can actually take PTO...but I really need a vacation! I'm thinking of going to visit my BFF in the DC area for a weekend, just to get out (she was Cheese&Crackers on the old boards, if you remember her).
All of your trips sound amazing! KTK, I loved Amsterdam, Brussels, Munich - make sure to check out Delirium Cafe in Brussels (I posted this on another thread about Belgium too)! It was actually 9 years ago this weekend that I was in Amsterdam, Bruges, and Brussels...yes I went to Amsterdam for 4/20 weekend back in 2008.

That would be the only kind of firm I'd be able to ever work at, though I doubt I'll ever transition out of in-house (unless I have to) business affairs/legal. I don't know how people do it at the big firms where you literally need to time your pee breaks.
Cousin's wedding is in Shrewsbury, NJ, so only about 45 minutes from where I live.

We're mostly touring and eating and drinking, with a couple days on the beach on a small island near Bangkok in the middle. I'm going with Kayla from the boards and her hubs and my friend Mike. It should be a blast! I for sure want to do a lot of exploring and touristy stuff and we're going to an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai where you get to play with and go in mud baths with the elephants which sounds awesome. But also get drunk and eat street food at night! The important stuff. |

I'm leaving for 5 days in Florida on Sunday. It will be with my entire family, which will be nice, but can also be stressful. I'm mostly excited to sit by the pool for a bit and play golf with my parents. Lol.
I can't believe your little one is turning 1 Lisa! Time really does fly!
Allison - I hope you post some pictures from Thailand. I want live vicariously through you.

Ugh Mollz the feeling of being in the negative and having to like work your way out is tough! Hopefully you can get some PTO soon, but I feel like in the summer between holidays and the weather being nicer, it doesn't feel as bad.

Katie, that will be an awesome trip. I haven't been to Brussels but loved Amsterdam and especially Munich (which I know you've already been to). I probably would have enjoyed Amsterdam more if I hadn't gotten so high as balls the entire time but when you're 20 and that's the first time you've seen it legal, that apparently outweighed my desire to see the Van Gogh museum, etc.
SB, right? I seriously don't have the drive or energy or motivation to ever do that, no matter what the pay was.
