Good Monday Morning Stitchers!
I didn't get much stitching time in this weekend. I was able to stitch for about an hour before I met my DD and DGD for lunch. We attended a craft fair after lunch, this was the first one that I have been to since before Covid and there were a lot of different items for sale that I haven't seen before.
January is coming fast and there was a challenge that I wanted to do the beginning of the new year but now can't find the book of faces that it was on. I also know what project that I wanted to stitch for the challenge but now can't find the pattern that I have or the fabric that I purchased for this pattern. I'm going to have to do some looking around both on the book of faces and also in my craft room.
Have a good start of the week and I hope everyone can find some time for them selves and get some stitching time in.

Good Morning Stitchers!
I found the challenge that I mentioned yesterday, it's called "2024 Blessing Project Challenge", now to find the pattern that I was thinking about doing for this challenge.
I did get some stitching in this morning and like how it's coming together. I was hoping that I would have this project finished by the first of the new year but not sure that will happen. I haven't been stitching at night after work, the colors of the fabric and floss that I am using is hard enough to see in the day light that I am afraid it would be next to impossible to stitch at night even with my good light and readers.
Have a good day everyone and hope that you can stitch something!

Good Morning Stitchers!
No stitching for me last night. By the time I got all my running around done and got home to fix supper I was to tired to pick up my stitching. I did get a little stitching this morning.
I was checking some of the cross stitch stores on Facebook, looking for some fabric that I need, not want but need, to finish the Stitching With the Housewives HOME series. When I started I decided not to stitch it on the fabric that they used but on a very light blue Jobelan Evenweave, it's called Sky blue. I purchased 6 pieces and then decided that I wanted to stitch all 12 months and went back to the cross stitch store that I got the fabric from and they said it was back ordered. Finally after over 6 months they wrote me an e-mail saying that that fabric color was discontinued. There is a shop that is 60 miles away that has what I am looking for but it is pre-cut and it 6x10 and the project that I need it for is 5x5 so that would only give me 1/2 on each side to finish, which is not enough for me to work with. Not sure what I am going to do but will keep looking.
Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning, I didn't have any luck in finding the fabric that I am looking for. The cross stitch shop only had 1 piece and it would have been too small to use for this project. I will keep looking. Anyone have any idea where I could find 28 count Jobelan Summer Sky? I check e-bay with no luck. Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning Stitchers!
Well, I was able to find the fabric that I was looking for. I found another cross stitch store on line that had some so I purchased what they had left. I also posted to a book of faces page for cross stitchers looking for retired and out of print patterns and a couple ladies had what I was looking for. I did purchase from one of the ladies and am hoping that I will have enough to finish the series that I want do complete.
I hope that all of you have a Very Merry Christmas. We will go to Church Christmas morning and then having family over in the afternoon. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone!

Good Morning Stitchers! I hope that everyone had a good Christmas / Holiday. My family came over on Christmas Day so I wasn't able to get any stitching in with Church in the morning and then preparing our Christmas dinner for everyone. By the time the festivities were over I was too tired to pick up my stitching. I did get some stitching in this morning and hope to kit up a new project tonight when I get home from work. I have a family member that will be having surgery soon and I plan on taking my current project to the hospital with me so that I have something to do while I wait. This current project is at a point that I really shouldn't have to bring the pattern or at least look at the pattern but should be able to just "fill the the blanks". I still need to find my project for the 2024 Blessing Project Challenge that starts on January 1, 2024! I might have a look for it tonight after I get my other project kitted up. Have a good week everyone and for those of you that have the week between Christmas and New Years, I hope that you can find plenty of time to stitch.

Good Morning Stitchers,
I took yesterday off from work to do some paperwork at home. I did get done what needed to get done and will work on the rest of it this weekend.
I found the pattern that I want to stitch for the 2024 Blessing Project Challenge. While I was up in my craft room looking, I ended up spending 1 1/2 hours straightening up. I was going to take a before and after picture but forgot. It isn't finished but at least I can walk into the room without tripping on something. My next move for this room is to put all the floss, that I have pulled for projects, away and in numerical order. I store my floss in photo boxes that you can purchase at any craft store. I also use the snack portion zip lock bags and put a 3x5 card in each bag. My plan is to write on the card what project I used the thread for. I would also like to use some scrap card stock to mark the spot when I pull a color and list on the card stock what project I pulled the thread to kit a project. I think that I have most of the DMC colors as a friend of mine gave me a box once that had 6 large rings of floss bags with pretty much all the colors. I'm not sure if I will include these bags with mine or just keep them on the rings. I know that I would have to get some more photo boxes because I only have 1 that is empty.
Have a good Thursday everyone and hope that you can find some time to stitch.

Hi everyone,
Is anyone starting a new cross stitch project the beginning of this new year. I still need to find the designer floss that I need, luckily there is a cross stitch shop in my town. She isn't open all day so I need to check her hours and my have to go tomorrow. Do you have a cross stitch shop close by to you. I know that a lot of shops have closed which is too bad. The chain hobby stores don't carry patterns and fancy floss or fabric so we need to help the small businesses out when we can.
I did get some stitching in this morning, I started another Little Stitch Girl, "Pinch Proof" and really like how it is turning out. I will stitch on it this weekend and then will put it away to start the New Years challenge and hope to get it finished in January.
Have a Happy New Year everyone!

I hope that everyone had a very Happy New Year! We didn't do much but watch some movies. I did get my project for the 2024 Blessings Project Challenge started but didn't start until this morning. I spent yesterday outlining the Pinch Proof project that I was stitching, checking to make sure that 2 of the colors work. I then had to cut the fabric that I am using for the challenge, whip stitch the edges and grid the center. I hadn't done any gridding in a long while but decided the this project, since it is so long needed the center lines put it. I usually stitch on 28 count and this fabric is 32 so I will see how it goes.
I saw this on the book of faces and thought I would share with you.
May your needles stay shiny & your stitches be tight weather you start from the left or the right, May your thread never tangle in the front of the rear, & may the frog stay away for the following year!
Happy New Year Everyone!

Good Morning Stitchers! (at least it's morning for another 30 minutes where I am at) |
My 2024 stitching challenge is coming along nicely. I am trying to figure out how much I need to stitch each day in order to get this finished by the end of January. I did have to go into my craft room this morning to find some of the DMC floss that is called for. I really do need to get in that room and straighten up my floss.
My DH finally has a date set for his knee replacement and it's in the middle of March. I have a couple projects that I have put aside to work on while he is in surgery and then when I am home with him after surgery. We have a funeral on Friday that I think I will take one of the projects with me to work on during our 1 1/2 drive. I don't want to take the challenge project with since it is a larger project and I would have to take the pattern and more than 1 color of floss and the project that I plan on taking is smaller to handle and I only need to bring 1 color.
Have a good day stitching everyone!

Good morning stitchers!
I am moving right along with the 2024 challenge piece and I like the way it's turning out. I will probably have to look for some more floss colors tonight, I have been getting the colors as I need them, this pattern has a lot of different colors and some of the colors are only used for a few stitches so I'm glad that I was gifted a lot of floss a couple of years ago by a friend. I need to make sure that the pattern I plan on taking with me tomorrow I all ready with everything that I need, enough floss, scissors and my readers. Without my readers I won't be able to get much done.
Have a good day stitching everyone!

Hi everyone!
I had snow day yesterday and spent some time stitching on my March Little Stitch Girls "Pinch Proof". I also was able to find all the floss that I need for the Blessing Project and stitched some on it yesterday. I also spent sometime organizing the floss that I had pulled for other projects but didn't have any 3 x 5 index card so I hope to stop at a dollar store to pick some up and slowly work on putting the cards in the bags that I use for the floss. I use portion control zip lock bags and really like how it works for my floss.
Hope that everyone is staying safe, sounds like the entire country is having some kind of weather problems the past couple of day.

Good Morning Stitchers!
I was able to pick up some 3 x 5 index cards from a dollar store yesterday. They didn't have white card but did have a pack of 150 cards that were 4 different colors. My plan now is to use a the same color card in each box thinking that will make it easier when I need to put it away. I did start organizing my first box and it's going to take me awhile to get it all done but once it's done it will be so much easier to find what I am looking for.
Hope that everyone has been able to get some stitching done since the first of the new year. I am still working on the challenge project and hope to be done with 1/2 of it by the middle of this month.
Have a good day and keep on stitching!

Good Morning Stitchers!
No stitching last night but I was able to get some in this morning. I'm still on track to finish 1/2 of the project by the middle of the month.
I am thinking about signing up for a class on how to do a Biscornu. I took this from the cross stitch shops newsletter:
"For those of you that aren’t familiar with a Biscornu, it’s a small, octagonal, stuffed ornamental pincushion. It is usually made out of Aida cloth or linen, sewn from two square sheets of cloth in such a way that each corner of one square is hemmed to the middle of a side of the opposite square".
I do have a pattern that I need to stitch and hope to get it at least started before the sign up which in in April. The shop that is holding the class is in the next town over but it isn't a bad drive and the class will be held in June so the roads will be good.
Have a good day and hope that you are able to get some "me" time and stitch.

Another snowy morning!
Hope that everyone has been safe and warm. The weather around the country is crazy. We had a snow storm over the weekend with not that much snow but a lot of wind causing drifting and also below -0- temp. I took Friday off because of the snow and didn't leave the house until Sunday morning when we went to church. I did get some stitching done but also worked on my floss stash, sorting and putting all the floss in the same kind of bag with a 3 x 5 index card with the floss number and color on top of the card. A couple of weeks ago I purchased some photo storage boxes and am thinking that I should have purchased more than I did. Oh well, I can always watch for a sale and pick up a couple more. A lady from our church is crocheting plastic mat for the homeless out of plastic grocery bags. I have a lot of bags because I started doing this but decided that I wanted to spend my time stitching. I did get a lot of bags cut into strips this weekend but I still need to loop them together into one long strip and then I need to roll the long strip into a ball. It will be good to get all the bags out of the closet in my craft room so I have room to store the boxes of floss that I am working on.
Have a good week and stay safe and warm!

Good Morning,
How is everyone doing? We still have the bitter cold and winds along with drifting snow. I didn't do any stitching last night but did get some done this morning. I am over 1/2 way done with the challenge project that I am working on. This project has a lot of words that are a quick stitch but the animals on it is a slower stitch. The animals aren't very large but you only stitch with one color for a few stitches and then have to switch colors which takes time.
Hope that everyone is staying safe and warm. Keep those needles moving!

Good Morning Stitchers, No stitching again last night but I did finish the zebra one the project that I am working on and started the elephant. Both are small and I can't believe how long it took me to get what I got done today. I keep telling myself, "one stitch at a time". I'm still on track to get this finished by the end of January. Hope that everyone is safe and warm. We are having a heat wave, it was 7 degrees when I came into work today but they are predicting more snow tomorrow.

Good Snowy Morning Fellow Stitchers!
I finished the elephant this morning and started on the giraffe this morning. I stitch using the railroad stitching method and even though it looks nicer it really slows down the speed in which I stitch. Anyone railroad when they stitch?
We are suppose to get more snow this afternoon and this Saturday, they say, that it will be the coldest day so far this season. After below zero this past week, I don't even want to think about it being colder.
Stay safe and warm everyone and I hope that you can find time to stitch.

Good almost afternoon everyone,
Late start today because of the cold temp and the snow squall that we had last night right as I was getting off work, causing drifting. Tonight the weatherman is predicting that we will set a record with -23, the previous record was set in 1886 and was -22. Sure glad that I filled my car the other night when we had our heat wave.
I am looking forward to spending the day stitching tomorrow. I did get the giraffe finished this morning and was even able to stitch 3 letters. My plan is to finish stitching all the words and then go back and finish 2 bumble bees and 1 bird. I also need to look for some beads that I plan on using for eyes on the animals instead of french knots. I never have been able to master those.
Have a good weekend everyone and stay safe and warm and keep stitching!!

Good Monday Morning Stitchers!
I was able to get some stitch on my 2024 Blessings Project but didn't get finished. All I need to stitch is my Granddaughter's birth information, a couple of seed beads for eyes on a couple of the animals (I'm going to use beads instead of doing French knots) and some buttons. I really love how it turned out and can't wait to get it completely finished so I can take it to a framer.
Does anyone else have trouble with French knots? I use to be able to do them with no problems but recently they just don't turn out right. Oh well, just glad that I can sub seed beads instead.
Have a good start to the week everyone!

Good Morning Stitchers!
I found some graft paper so I can start working on grafting out my Granddaughter's name and birth infor and then I can stitch it on the birth announcement that I am working on. I'm getting close to done!
This morning I worked on the Little Stitch Girl's February pattern. I keep looking for new you-tube from her but I haven't seen any. I really hope that she hasn't stopped designing, I love her things.
Have a good Tuesday everyone and keep on stitching!

Good Morning Stitchers!
I was able to figure out the wording for my Granddaughter's birth announcement, now I need to figure out the center for each line and then get it centered on the fabric. The past couple of days, I have been working on the Little Stitch Girl's pattern that I set aside to work on the challenge project. I should be getting it finished either tonight to tomorrow morning. I have also decided that the March Little Stitch Girl's project that was also set aside will have a lot of stitches ripped out. I am using the called for colors in DMC colors and 2 of the colors are so close to the same shade that I am having a hard time telling the difference. I will rip out the color that I don't like and replace it with white and I think I will be happy with my choice.
Have a good middle of the week and hope you can get some stitches in today.

Good Thursday Stitchers!
I finished the Little Stitch Girl's project that I was working on, still need to iron it. I did find a round pan that I might try to use to finish it, just need to see if it will fit.
I started ripping the March Little Stitch Girl's project that I was working on. This project is stitched 4 x 4 and I thought I didn't have too many squares in the color that I didn't like done but it is almost all of the project. I should just pitch it and start over but I really like the fabric that I am using. This will keep me busy for a while but I think that it will look better when I get it finished.
Have a good Thursday everyone and keep those needles moving!

Good Morning Stitchers!
I hope that everyone was able to get a few stitches in yesterday. I spent my time taking stitches out! This is going to take me sometime ripping out all the one color that I don't like but it will be worth it when it's all done.
Have a good weekend everyone and hope that you can find some time for you and you can enjoy whatever hobby you love!

Good Monday Morning Stitchers!!
I hope that you were able to get some time in and enjoy your special hobby. I worked on the plarn, (plastic yarn) during one of the football games. I had a lot of strips cut so I joined some of them and rolled them into a ball. I had 2 ice cream buckets full of strips and did about 1/2 of a bucket. I hope to get them all together by this next week so that I can take them to a meeting and give them to a lady that crochets them into mats that she gives the homeless. These mats keep the homeless from sleeping and the wet ground and getting the rest of their sleeping gear wet.
I also spent time on Saturday morning ripping our some stitches on the March Little Stitch Girl's pattern that I am going to redo one of the colors.
I was able to get my Granddaughter's name and birthday date stitched on her birth announce that I am doing for the 2024 Blessings Challenge. I did put her birth weight on it but decided to put that in a different place so I will need to rip it but I left it there so that I know how I want to stitch it in the other place. I hope that get her weight and length stitched tonight and possibly the time she was born. When I get all the stats stitched then all I have to stitch is putting some buttons on. I did find my seed beads that I will be using for the eyes on some of the animals but I couldn't find my beading needle so I hope to stop at a specialty shop after work to pick one up.
Have a good start to the week everyone and keen on stitching!
