Morning all, 27* but not so windy. The sun is trying to peek out between the clouds. Yesterday was, as expected, super busy. We left for DH’s podiatrist appointment about 8:15, then stops at the farm store for dog food & bird seed and grass seed, then Walmart, most of you know that’s not my favorite store, but it is about the only place to get anything camper related, then to Aldi’s, another grocery store for the things I can’t get at Aldi’s a stop at KFC, and finally a stop at the courthouse to drop off the property tax check. A call to DSon to tell him we were on our way home with KFC for lunch. We met him where he was coming from the west and we were coming from the east to turn north to our house! Good timing.
After lunch I cleaned up the kitchen, started the dishwasher and then needed to leave for bookclub. It was a rare day that we all liked the book, and agreed the way it was written with the modern day stuff making it easier to read the hard story of the former time. After bookclub I went to our little village where we buy milk, a stop at the library, got the milk and eggs, then to Dollar General for things for here at home and for the camper. Called my BFF to see if she was home and up for a visit, she was! Enjoy helping her finish some bubbly from when the family was there last weekend. Finally got home about 6:00!! I was sooooo tired. Watched a little tv and went to bed early.
While I was at bookclub the guys did work around here, DSon cleaned the gutters and together they filled in the divots made by the snowblower along the driveway. They changed out the batteries on the weather station, and more. They were not able to do all that they wanted as things are still very wet in the yard.
Today is all about cleaning for Easter Sunday. We will have the family here for dinner, and I’m excited because DDIL called while we were in Aldi’s to say that DGD is coming home to surprise her dad for Easter. I didn’t even tell DH until I got home as I didn’t want him to accidentally spill the beans. So there will be six of us for dinner that day. I will do as much ahead as sI can, but I’m keeping it fairly simple. I think I’ll even make the rolls the day before. DGD asked if we could eat earlier than normal on a Sunday. I expect to eat about 12:30.
Jeanne - I’m sure your DH will be glad to get that surgery behind him.
Caryn - whew, so glad for you to sleep all night. My last two nights have not been good. I’ll see how I feel tonight, I might take a PM tablet, that always helps me make it all night long.
Allison - hope you have an easy drive. I see it’s opening day for baseball! With all the changes the Cubs have made and the fact that we no longer get the channel they are on, not sure how much I’ll follow any baseball this year. <sad horns> but tonight Iowa State men play again, however I don’t think the game start until 9:00 our time. That’s late for me.
Betty - you have been ready to come home for a couple of weeks now. I know I would be the same way. You will feel the cold way more that I do, yesterday I just wore a light denim jacket. In fact both of my coats are in the car because I get too warm and toss them in the back seat then forget to bring them in.
Gina - wow, R is busy with the new people moving in, but it’s a good thing. And of course you see the deadline coming right at you.
Luv - hope the car situation gets resolved soon. I’ll have to look for that picture on facebook. Your DGD is just adorable.
Time for me to get dressed and start my day. Cleaning day here!! TTFN

I'm back. It's raining lightly all day. Oscar is here and I just let him out. I didn't want to go with him so I used the retractable leash and stood in the front doorway LOL. I want to keep my hair from too much frizzing since tonight at 7:00 my high school class has its quarterly Zoom and I plan on attending. Will make an easy dinner since Miracle Ball doesn't end until 6:00 or 6:10, depending on her whim, and we need to eat before I Zoom.
Peg - I'm exhausted by your schedule yesterday but it does sound like you got everything done (even if the "boys" couldn't). Bravo on a simple Easter. I'm trying to do the same for the Seder (we'll be 14 or 15) but I keep adding things for me to cook - unless the 2's can step up and buy a Costco chicken. Otherwise I'll roast chicken parts to add to the protein for dinner cuz I don't think I have enough brisket for 15 big eaters. None of the vegans are coming so it's all meat LOL.
Jeanne - I'm excited for DH. Boy will he be happy. You really don't realize how much your eyesight has been compromised until you have the cataracts removed.
I'm hungry. D went out to get Jersey Mike's for us for lunch...

Rained this morning, so no walk for me. One of the gals is on vacation until 4/1...hopefully the 4 of us can be back together soon. DSis and DNiece are on their way from San Diego and should be here by mid afternoon. DNiece wants to stop at the outlet stores for Adidas. We'll have chicken tonight and ahi tomorrow. So meals are planned.
Peg - that was a busy day yesterday! Nice that DSon helped DH get the chores outside done as much as he could.
Jeanne - your DH will be glad to have this done, everyone says how helpful it is.
Caryn - agreed, you have no idea how much your eyesight can be compromised until you get stuff fixed. I'm still amazed at the difference in my vision. My scalp still tender little bumps, he said these spots would resolve, but I don't see any improvement. I see him again at the end of May, so hopefully either it will resolve by then OR he'll have some other suggestions.
Allison - my dual authorizations require a fingerprint on my phone to get to the code that I need to enter on my computer. Lately I play 'poker' with the six digit codes...I got 2 pairs yesterday. My tax prep program locks up after 10 minutes of no input, so if I'm using excel or on a phone call or whatever, I'm locked out. I need to open my phone app, get the code and type it into my computer. I cannot work if my phone is dead. And moving that app to a new phone is really hard. DH wants to get new phones soon...I'm not so anxious because it's so difficult to transfer my stuff, and our phones are paid off.
Well, best get work done before DSis arrives

Wow, everyone must be busy today. Lunch was a reheated mish/mosh. Done and what’s left will be a treat on Maddie’s food. Bathrooms are done, dusting is done. Tomorrow is floors, and windows. At least the ones by the table. It has warmed up some but I’m sure that breeze is cold.
Gina - oh my, what an ordeal everytime you step away or are on a call. I don’t blame you for not being anxious to upgrade your phone. Sounds like it will need time and patience to get it all set up right. Yes, we sure appreciate our DSon’s help.
Caryn - you have a much bigger project than I do for your meal, even tho’ you plan to do the brisket ahead of time. My biggest issue is timing since we want to eat earlier. The most difficult is time to let the bread raise, which is why I’m thinking of making it on Saturday.
Allison - hope you are having a good mom day.

Peg LOL my Seder brisket is already in the freezer. My tasks for the Seder will be making charoset (chopped apples and walnuts, plus sweet Passover wine), the chicken, a casserole made from pieces of matzoh call farfel mixed with onions, oil and mushrooms and baked. I'm giving my kids the task of making hard boiled eggs, a "candy" made of matzoh baked under caramel with chocolate spread on top when it comes out of the oven (it's a tradition in our family and delicious) - you break it up when it cools a bit, and some raw veggies and a dip. We still need to buy the fresh stuff, plus pickles and grated prepared horseradish, and order the chopped liver. So you're right - it's a lot even though people are bringing a lot too. And we'll set the tables. The Seder is Monday 4/22 so we can do the tables on the weekend and finish everything on Sunday and Monday.
Gina - that sounds frustrating. Me, I cannot do spreadsheets etc on my phone. Don't even like to "surf the web" on that little screen. I much prefer my desk and that's why I work with 2 monitors.
Still rainy here so no outside work. The gardener will come next week. My goal is to complete the front gardens by Monday and then turn to the back. Tuesday is poll work so no gardening and we leave Friday morning for Toronto. Sadly we realized we can't spend Friday night at the 1's since they'll be in the city, ready to leave for France. So we'll need to book another hotel - probably in the Rochester area, or maybe Syracuse, so we can get to the border in the morning.

Back home from Mom's - it took almost 3 hours to get there but under 2 hours on the way home. I sat in bumper to bumper traffic on the way to DM's - it took an hour to go 9.3 miles. Fortunately I did not have that type of traffic on the way back. DOldestSis changed DM's eye appointment from next Thursday to next Wednesday when I will still be here so I will be able to go with DM.
Trying to decide if I should take a walk - I think I will change and go out. First I will post a photo on TaT.

Caryn - yes, it is a very good photo of DM. My fingers are crossed for somewhat less traffic next week but I am not counting on it.

Never got here this morning. Talked to DS and he was hurting. Mostly when he tries to stand up. Told him to think he will feel 20% better every day. Won at cards and now have to plan dinner. BBL with personals. Nancy

I do a quick check in did you sleep next to me on the couch! Dsil no dsil came over to visit kind of past her nap time so it took a while to get her down some school her sleep.DD has a doctor appointment tomorrow. She’s showing pretty quickly now she’s worried about twins. I thought no lots of twins on all sides of both families! Will know soon enough like dd said she just wants to make sure everything is ok feet the miscarriage. The car is here they think they’ve solved it dh had to go to go to a meeting with his financial advisor in Mount Vernon so he took the car see how it works. It’s cold here today. It hasn’t really been raining but it’s cold. I’ve got to go take my mom to her hair appointment at one tomorrow then at 1:30 I go pick up her taxes. Wait for her to get done with her appointment and take her home unless she needs to go someplace. Hopefully she can get her car back this weekend. I know she likes me taking her to her hairdresser but it is just like 3 miles from her house house. I think she’s OK to drive that far. I can’t get anything done around here because either I’m doing something for my mom or for DD.
Betty sounds like you’re ready to go home. I hope you get some nice weather Susan what’s the temp?
Peg is coming home to surprise her dad he’ll be excited. I opted that we all go out to dinner because I do every holiday here and I just didn’t wanna do it. There will just be 5 of us.
Is it just me but when you have someone to your house EVERY holiday and they never invite you to their house for appetizers or anything or out to dinner…..is that weird or is it just me. It’s dh DTBIL and his wife….you think they’d invite us occasionally. She always brings food but it’s the same old thing. I also don’t want them to be alone because ds and do live abroad. I opted just the 5 of us out to dinner. I guess I just have to accept for what it is thanks for letting me vent.
Gin nice you have renters and so happy dh did t lose his phone!
Caryn I want that candy!
Allison great pic of you and your dm!
RV hope ds starts feeling better soon.
DGD should be waking up better go!

Posted a video on BAM so you all (and Betty in particular) can see how fast alligators can move. And why I cringed everytime Betty posted about walking by that pond with the gator.

The news here from DDIl is heartbreaking. Her DMom is failing fast. DDer just called, she and the dogs will come here tomorrow as we all want to support DDIL as she is with her mom.
I love my family, they are good people. I’m just so sad for DDIL.
I don’t think I mentioned I did get to the care facility to see our DFriends. They were watching a movie when I arrived, so I watched with them, we had a few minutes back in her room to chat before someone else came to visit. Then BFF came. I thought it was time to leave. Bless my DFriend’s heart, she said “I don’t want you to go’ I assured her I’ll be back.
It’s been kind of a hard day with the news of DDIL’s mom.

Good evening all. I did walk 2 miles then relaxed the rest of the afternoon. Tonight I watched Grey's plus we watched another episode of Ted Lasso.
Khalua - YIKES on the video - we walk past a pond where we saw a large gator a few weeks back - we haven't seen him for at least two weeks but that doesn't mean squat. I would get the hebbie jebbies if a gator walked past my pool enclosure like in the video... And so glad to see you posting.
Peg - HUGS for DDIL and the family. A phone call could come at any time for my DM which is why I try to see her a few times when we are down in FL (and also why I get frustrated with DCSis only going once every three months). SIGH.
Heading to bed,
Allison

Good morning! Cloudy and cool, but no rain. Yay!
Peg - I’m sorry for DDIL and her family. So good she has all of you for support. I remember that phase with my DDad. Very scary and stressful.
Allison - feel bad for DCSis, but it’s her choice. Wahoo in Wordle! Did it in 4. Waffle w 4 left, and needed hints for connections.
We will be food shopping this morning and hopefully a walk first. We’ve been housebound except doctor appt for 2 days.

Good Friday morning to you all, is tomorrow our BAMaversary? I’m thinking either the 30th or the 31st? Anyway, thanks to Teatina who never posted again, for starting this incredible thread, that has been such a lifeline in my life.
No news from DDIL overnight, so we will see what today brings. I will do floors and then clean the bedroom and bathroom downstairs that DDer and the dogs will use. It could rain today but the temps will be much warmer, into the 60’s I think.
Everything Easter related is up in the air, which is fine. I can even cook the ham and sides for a bigger group, or cook it and take it to DS&DIL’s place. We will be flexible and support them as they need. I would think that her mom would go to a funeral home in the area where she lived, and DDIL has a brother and niece there that can help with anything along that line.
So, that’s where my brain is this morning. I took a ‘PM’ tablet last night and slept all night. Yay.
Lunch for DH and I will be out of the fridge again, still several leftovers, and most will be frozen or tossed when we are done with lunch.
Jeanne - even with the hints I only got the green and yellow on connections. Will you do both walks today?
Allison - I agree, purple on connections today was a stretch, and no wonder I didn’t get it. But then I thought the blue was sketchy too.
Gina - thinking of you this morning, we know your days are crammed with the deadline looming.
Khalua - loved seeing a post from you, thanks for keeping our northern sisters informed about the things in FL they have never experienced before.
Off to get some breakfast and then the floors, then downstairs. TTFN
