I somehow got on a few pages back and "liked" some old post. Whatever. My nighttime routine starts very early, like by 7:30. I brush my teeth, do my evening body weight strength & flexibility exercises, wash face, moisturize, brush the cat if he barges in. I am in bed reading round about 8:30 and read until 9:15. Then lights out. DH will read a bit longer on his Kindle. I will typically wake up at least once during the night to pee. I have been meditating since about 2008 and I will do some sort of meditation and can fall back to sleep easily most times. If I can't I will do word games in my head. I get 7-8 hours every night. I've always been a sound sleeper aside from the times I've been on steroids for GI stuff, and when my mom started losing her grip with dementia. Trying to cope with mom's decline is what started me meditating, BTW. Sympathy for all the poor sleepers. Hi, Lots of interesting, helpful reading. For me, I've never been a boredom eater. When I'm "on", and plan my meals correctly, I maintain a kitchen closed after dinner successfully most of the time. Drinking lots of water helps me. If I do find I'm hungry, I'll do a hot drink, apple, or edamame if I decide I really need a little something.
I had a good day today, despite several days of awful stress over my Sweetie's vet visit and delay getting results, and several more days of stressing watching over her on new meds and improvement. I resisted doing any kind of binge comfort eating. Getting bigger does not make the problem smaller. I did make myself homemade pizza several times, but it's a manageable number of points, and I had some veggie centric small meals to help.
WI this morning has me back within my free LT WW range-woo hoo!
Was able to pick up some previously not available blsl chix breasts and cheap cherries (which I eat seated) at Aldi's, and said a hard NO to the on-sale white chocolate bars. Chicken weighed and popped into the freezer, one breast baked and shredded for the upcoming week. Did lots of food prep earlier in the week which will carry me into this new one. Meal option list set up on chart, working to schedule individual day menus. Lots of credits given to my rejuvenated resistance muscle. I made a new goal to work towards.

I changed up my night-time routine to brush my teeth right after dinner and went to bed when SO went to bed. Unfortunately, that meant I woke up later at night and was up for a couple of hours. I think I'm going to try drinking chamomile tea if I wake up at night like that.

Mine is honest tracking. peacemama, I think if you know what your evenings will hold then the key is to make a plan for what success will look like for that one in advance. I think my biggest credit this weekend is really taking a look at my night-time routine and trying to find ways to fix both my insomnia and related snacking.
I ran yesterday after three weeks off. I was active during the weeks but I didn't run although my nephew asked me to go running with him while we were on vacation. I hadn't brought running clothes and was worried about thigh chafing even though I was mostly wearing running skirts. The under shorts on those are looser than the ones I wear when I run and that makes them great for hanging around in the heat but not so great for actually running.
As a result I was quite physically tired and went to bed early. I was awake a number of times at night but I didn't actually wake up enough to get out of bed. And I really resisted STs about snacking which would have kept me up longer - I went through a mental discussion of whether it was too early to go to bed at 9 pm and wake up later for an hour or two, or try to stay up and go to bed later.
I did give myself a heavy dose of credit for making the decision to go to bed.

Good morning, My big credit for the weekend, besides getting back to WW for a successful LT WI, was getting my veggie mojo back. Actually planning them into my meals rather than winging it ,which sometimes leads to forgetting something's in the crisper until it's spoiled.

Great day, not so good night. I started a new hip stretching routine which needs to be done daily. I'm only going to do that today. I think my body needs to get back into daily exercise gear slowly. My butt and thighs are sore after yesterday's weight session.

Hi, My planned lunch didn't work out yesterday, so I skipped it and waited until dinner-hunger is not an emergency. Got a lot of steps in on walkabout with Roses yesterday, though it was ghastly hot. No breeze from the lake 😪. So glad I got myself back to the meal planning routine. I really wish I could figure out why I stop doing it every now and then. My life is so much easier and less stressful when those decisions are already made for days in advance, with built-in flexibility. Same thing w the tracking.
ETA I cross posted with Mare, how timely! Yes, making the time works, and eventually the routines end up costing me less energy than the decision fatigue over in-the-moment choices.

Yesterday night was a disaster. I finished up a meeting at 8 pm and I was so hot - my downstairs AC isn't working so it is humid here and the room I use for Zoom faces the west so it gets hot in the evening though we have insulated blinds on the windows and they are down. I ended up eating ice cream - I had had a giant glass of iced water with me for the Zoom meeting but I went through that rather quickly during the meeting. I had no room for more water but apparently I had room for ice cream and stuff. Grrr....But I did get an extra floor in because I had to go downstairs to retrieve the ice cream. I don't keep it upstairs where it is easily accessible.
The day was also crazy and I read cards in the am but not in the pm.

I want to refocus on my 'big picture'(Noom), and reasons list (Beck). I've been using a tiny spiral notebook to blommit random thoughts, looks Ike it is time to upgrade back to a fancee Moleskine(motivates me to journal).

We are back at home so I need to get some fruit and veggies stat!! I did pretty good while out of town. Lots of restaurants but tracked it all.
I am a snacker. If I have fruits and vegetables I do good but right now I have lettuce and oranges. I’m going to check out the produce guy tomorrow and see what he has.

Yesterday I read my cards at the correct times. I also resisted STs for late night snacking. I went to bed, as I should have. Doing the dental cleaning right after dinner is helping me focus on not eating after that, although I did so the first night I did it. it just means that I can go to bed as soon as I'm sleepy or when it is bed time without having to get up and do the nightly routine.

I had a minor sciatica bout and was spacing out from taking too much Aleve (since when is that a problem? Guess it's age-related just like everything else). Anyhoo, I had some cheese and a piece of chocolate in the evening. I was way below my planned total so it all worked out. BTW, I hit the foam roller and the pain is gone. Weighed - up 0.6 lb. Exercise is going well. I am also seeing the link between movement and focus on other good habits. I think I fell back into the night-time snacking because I wasn't exercising the week after my surgery. I was active but not active enough.
yesterday was another normal day. I followed my night-time routine and fell asleep on time. The heat is making me drink a ton of water and that interrupted my sleep but because I was physically tired, I fell back asleep right away.

Activity going well. Credits: Tracked all week. Mostly stuck to my planned options, 6 out of 7 blue dot days. In touch w my coach. Made tabouli salad and black bean soup in the early morning cool today. I have a new recipe to try tonight-savory chickpea waffle, to go on top of my tabouli salad. Wrote meal options for my new week on my planner pad. Planning on going to WW mtg tomorrow-hopefully it will be nice enough out to walk at least part-way there and/or back. Doing the Becksercises. I am at Day 15 tomorrow, so beginning the official WI period. Moved my cards to a more prominant spot on my coffee table (mission control.)
