I am really focusing on reading cards at the right times. One thing I've never mastered is reaching for the cards before a situation. I read cards regularly and what is in them is ingrained in my head. But when the situation arises, I don't necessarily even think of reading a card.
Do the rest of you read cards at the right times?

ermabom I don’t read my cards like I should. I even have a card that says “why do you resist this? It’s not that hard!” I had a .6 lb loss this week. That’s better than last time when it was .5 over three weeks. I was really good about my exercise last week so I’m sure that’s the reason. I’ll be home for 4 days and will walk on the treadmill each day. Then it’s a crap shoot. We’ll be nomadic for 3 weeks in August and no access to a treadmill with 105 plus temps. Maybe I’ll try yoga. Still logging all my food. Have lots of fruit and veggies to keep me satisfied. Have a great one.

Pilates mat is also good. There are YouTube videos. Plus you can do bodyweight exercises - says she who rarely works out when traveling.

I have never remembered to read a card in a dangerous situation. Every time I review Beck I am like "hey great idea!" and then do not execute.

sloth/torpor and my cell-mate has been restlessness/worry. I know! These two go back and for me like ping pong balls. One more new thing for me to think about - is learning to appreciate neutral feelings - which is what the Buddhists strive for - instead of going for the less boring, more exciting distraction right away. I definitely think of my responses in certain situations-generally with a successful result.
I remind myself that I look better wearing smaller clothes than I do wearing chips and dip when I find myself veering towards the snacky aisle. Also that being bigger doesn't make my problems smaller.
Having my focus being weight loss/management is the most important thing, and that it matters every.single.time I put something in my mouth has been like a blanket ST/HR card.

Putting together this week's meal plan this morning. Grocerying done yesterday. I'll be baking a chicken breast shortly, to shred up ready for salads.
I have 2 possible events this week. I am planning to not drink alcohol.

Last night was a slip-up. I'm taking one of those free streak-maintenance days here. I resisted the urge to snack once, felt the craving pass and then it came back later when I was more tired and I didn't resist. I've written a new thing in my night-time ARC and revised some of the words this am to reflect what I felt and what I'm feeling.
Other than that, a normal day.

I had upsetting news from two friends yesterday morning. I feel like we (DH for one friend, me for the other) were able to help just by listening and encouraging. Also glad they felt able to reach out and confide. And I didn't overeat as a means of coping/numbing. Neither did Mr. Lani.
Other Thursday credits:
Weighed - down 0.8 lb. Read new posts, posted Meditated Tracked Strength & flexibility exercises. Still foam rolling once a day. Unsure if I need to continue with it. Ate sitting, mindfully Ended day 5 calories under plan - a squeaker! Wrote plan for today - pizza night

ermabom, it wasn't all great yesterday. Some restaurant in Korea used our main credit card and we had to cancel it. The fraud alert on DH's phone coincided with a purchase I was trying to make - turned out it had nothing to do with it. But Mr. Lani got snippy and I totally lost my shit and was screaming at him and later crying in the basement. Mostly because I was disappointed in myself since I have been working on not being so reactionary forever it seems. Then I put 2 and 2 together and figured we were both off kilter due to the previous day's bad news. Good grief. But we didn't overeat! Friday credits: Weighed - up 1 lb. I’m so sorry lani. I know how that feels when you are having an argument with your DH and both of you are emotional. But yes, give yourself credit for not comforting yourself with food. It is a journey and we can only strive for progress. Remember, if we were perfect at this, we’d be Buddhas too!

A nice calm, uneventful day. Got new credit cards and updated every single thing that needed it. Bit of a search for NetFlix and Sirius accounts.

I'm ending the month feeling pretty good about it overall. My Sweetie-cat had a setback healthwise today, but it did not send me to anything unplanned or unhealthy food-wise. The Halo Top was on sale at the local market, so I picked up 1 tub of chocolate. I'm very good about sticking to a 1/4 or 1/3 cup portion for satisfaction.
ETA: My 2 anticipated events early this coming week will most likely not happen now. One due to covid (my jazz guitar friend who was having a record release party,) and the other due to rain (outdoor mariachi band concert,) so I won't need to exercise my alcohol resistance muscle.
The new English Premier League soccer season starts for my team on Saturday. This is basically like New Year's at the soccer pub at 9am. I am considering abstaining, but will cross that bridge a bit later in the week. I get out so rarely anymore, I do deserve a little planned-for fun.

I was able to run yesterday. My left knee has been problematic and that is why I added the hip strengthening/flexibility exercises as well as some IT band work. It is better. The area is less sore but I've also been icing it and putting Topricin on it. Topricin is like magic for me (it is a herbal cream that you massage in to help heal soft tissue injury) but doesn't always seem to work for others. Maybe they aren't really massaging it in.
I didn't eat at night but I ate a bigger dinner. I had eaten a smaller lunch because I wasn't that hungry at lunch time.
